Friday!!! Yay!!!!

I'm deciding to take a little break from the drama in my life. Today after work myself and 2 of my girl friends are driving to Philadelphia to see New Kids On The Block in concert. I never got to see them when I was a teenager, so tonight I'm making up for lost time. I've had, "The Right Stuff" stuck in my head since yesterday. Tomorrow my parents and I are celebrating Father's Day. We're going out for dinner. Sunday, H and I are supposed to have the kids, FIL and BIL over for a BBQ. I hope the weather is wrong. We're supposed to have thunderstorms. What are your weekend plans?

    Tomorrow is my birthday; not sure what Fiance has planned but I'm sure it'll be fun. Sunday we're going to his parents' for Father's Day and to celebrate my birthday- we're good at sharing. I took Monday off too and am going to my God Mother's to do a hair trial for the wedding.

    I am seeing them in Hershey, PA next weekend for my birthday. I can't wait! The biggest arguments I remember having with my mom as a kid were when she said I was too young to go with my neighbor to their concert (to be fair to her, I was about 6-7). Now as an adult, this will be my 5th time :)

    I am going to see them next week in Boston.  It took over 20 years for me to finally see them since my parents wouldn't let me see them when I was a kid.

    Happy early birthday @FeeleyToBe!

    DH is going out of town with some friends this weekend so I have the house to myself. I'm getting off at 1 today to make up some comp time from last week.

    Tonight, I'm going to clean the house and drink wine.

    Tomorrow, I have a baby shower to go to around 1. It is at a park, outside. It's going to be hot and humid all day. That night I have a couple's shower to go to.

    Sunday, we're grilling hamburgers for FIL and then doing icecream with my dad.

    Today is the last day of classes!!!  Yay!!  Final exams and random 'fun' days next week.  We're going to see Cirque and that's about it.  I'm sleeping in all weekend long!!!

    Happy Friday! Going away party for a friend tonight, getting FI's wedding suit tomorrow and going out to a nice restaurant, and Sunday is a father's day cookout with FI's family (my own father passed away and my FFIL is pretty much "dad" to me). And first day of summer! Yay!

    Tonight I am doing a major grocery run and cleaning the house. I also have a few birthday presents to wrap and I think I might stop at Target.

    Tomorrow I am spending the day prepping for our Father's Day BBQ! It's the first "holiday" we are hosting at our house and we just finished our new deck so I am hoping for good weather. I've also never used a grill myself before so I need to figure that out. Tomorrow night I have dinner plans with my BFF and another friend of ours.

    Sunday we are having my family and FI's family over for the BBQ. I am pretty excited and hope it goes well!

    It's officially my last day of work before the wedding!! Ahhhh!!!

    Tonight the petsitter is coming to meet my dog and go over stuff.  I had hoped to clean the house beforehand, but that's not looking so likely!

    Tomorrow there's a big flea market type yard sale at an abandoned airport, so I hope to go there in the morning.  FI has some game tournament in the afternoon, so I hope the weather is nice enough to go to my parents' pool and then my dad wants to watch Father of the Bride on TV at 5pm (even though we both own the dvd). 

    Sunday I'll have to finish any outstanding work because I have a call with my boss on Monday morning to get anything I haven't finished reassigned before my 2 weeks off!

    I won't bore you with my wedding to do list.

    Tomorrow we need to run around and finalize our backcountry hiking kit that  we need for next weekend. Theres also an outdoor movie in the park tomorrow night that we will probably attend. Its kids movies this showing, but hey, still fun to sit and eat popcorn outside and watch a movie.

    Sunday is designated stop being lazy with the wedding stuff day. We have to go through a list of songs from our DJ, and add our important moment songs etc. We need to work on our favour boxes, finalize our ceremony and decide on liquor quantities so we can start buying bottles when they are on sale. We already managed to get a buttload of wine on sale, so now we need the beer and the hard stuff.

    Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned!

     

    This has been an incredibly stressful week for me so I am counting my stars that it is Friday. Tonight I plan on doing nothing. I think I might lounge outside in the backyard and read.

     

    Tomorrow I have a baby shower in the afternoon for my cousin. I am meeting up with my mom, grandma, and aunt and we are all going to drive together. I think we will probably stop for dinner after.

     

    Sunday I am going over to see my dad for a bit and then will try to relax again.

    As of right now, I no longer have to teach the current crop of grade 8 boys in my school.  I don't even get them next year.  Hell yes!!!  They are such idiots this year

    I don't really know what we are doing this weekend. My BFF is moving and I offered our help but she hasn't responded yet. I wish she would so DH and I could plan out our weekend!
    I do know that DH wants to go look at grills and we may also do some more yardwork (never-ending). He also mentioned going downtown to the Farmer's Market which would be fun.
    On Sunday we'll be hanging out with our dads!

    Work has been some bullshit this week, so I'm glad today is actually my Friday.  We're going to go get groceries and see a movie tonight (probably Jurassic World), and then tomorrow and Sunday we're going to be hella lazy.  If I get my act together I might order boxes and book our Uhaul for moving at the end of August.  Maybe.

    Tonight I'm having dinner with my high school friends.  We do monthly get togethers and take turns hosting- it's a night I always look forward to.

    Tomorrow FI is taking me out for breakfast.  I went out last weekend with my SIL but we couldn't find a place that was serving brunch!  FI knows I was disappointed so he's making up for it this weekend.  I'm so excited for eggs benedict! We'll probably just chill the rest of the day.

    Sunday we'll run errands and maybe do some cleaning.  Then we're headed to my parents' house for a Father's Day dinner.

    Ha. quick wedding related story.

    There are 5 hotels across the street from our venue, so FI and I didn't bother with room blocks. We simply put the information of three of the hotels on our website (the cheapest one, a midrange, and a more upscale one). We left off the hotel that we ourselves are booked at because it is the most expensive hotel in town. We chose to stay there ourselves as a) To spoil ourselves for the wedding weekend and b) Less chance of family booking there

    Got a text from FMIL today telling me that shes booked their room, FI two brothers rooms, and an Aunts room. All at this hotel. And how she's so excited we are staying there too because now we can 'All be together for the whole weekend!!!'

    I love her, but..... Le. Sigh.
