What was your wedding day timeline? I'm in the process of organizing mine and need some ideas

I mean your reception timeline

The advice my photog gave me was to start at the end of the night and work backwards. So if the night ends at 11 then start there and plan all the events you want to get in during the time of your reception. It worked well for me.

For our reception we are doing:

5pm start time
515 wedding party enter
530 - pray and eat
630 - speeches
700 cut the cake
730 dances (first dance, mother/son, etc)
800 dance floor open, party hard till the bar is dry!

I had a timeline and it was thrown out the window the actual day of.

Here is what I included:
5-6Cocktail hour (pictures for us)
6 enter
followed by first dance directly into father/daughter and mother/son dance

Quick toast by my dad
Prayer by H's Pap

Eat
Mingle
7:30 pictures for sunset (took way too long)
8:00 Cake cutting
Anniversary dance
Eat cake
Party
9:45 Light sparklers and head to the boat
10:00 Everyone goes home

We didn't do the anniversary dance and we didn't cut the cake till 9:00.
We had to be done by ten.
