Flippin' Friday!

Re: Flippin' Friday!

  • @futuremrshistorian my family is VERY catholic and my extended family is VERY protestant so I am not expecting any of them to be happy about this. I'm personally not very religious despite my upbringing, most of their ideologies never made sense to me. Luckily I live far away from them so it's likely not a topic that is going to come up often lol.
  • @jenna8984 - Yes, I'm in Ohio - it is a cheaper cost of living than a lot of areas in the country.  I know I've looked at moving out of state before and was floored by the prices of houses.

  • @AlPacina - Yep, pretty much.  I am no good at posting gifs so that one will work nicely!

@untouchablets - I came from a pretty liberal protestant background and converted to Catholicism in April.  But I grew up in the conservative evangelical subculture, so my FB feed today has been...interesting, to say the least.
  • @AlPacina I'm glad you talked to your boyfriend and clarified everything! Also @jenjen047 to answer your question yesterday, not quite, but FI felt like the proposal wouldn't mean as much if we picked a ring out together. He finally caved on that though because he kept getting overwhelmed. We also did some online research of venues so that we could realisitically figure out a budgeting timeline (but this was in the same vein of "We want to live in a house like X, what does that cost and how long will it take us to save up a down payment?"). We just got averages though and figured out a budget from there, but we didn't decide on a venue prior to being engaged and didn't consider ourselves engaged until he got down on one knee with the ring.

Also yay for the supreme court ruling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I was MIA because we had a team building event by the bay. It was nice to spend the entire day outside but it kind of sucked otherwise. You could tell morale was low, and that's not a good sign. FI is lobster red today because he didn't listen to me when I told him to put on sunscreen.

Today is beginning to be a bad day. We have to fill out time cards every week (even though I'm salaried...it's to keep track of project expenses and resources). For some reason today, my payroll account is all screwed up and I can't fill it out. I was on the phone with IT for an hour this morning and they can't figure it out either. I have a really bad feeling about this. It also doesn't help that my team has been under heavy scrutiny and I get a notification if I don't fill out my time card by 2 pm (FI doesn't get this). Lovely.

On top of that, our dryer got delayed AGAIN. It is supposed to be in the store today according to their system, but no one can tell me whether or not it has arrived or give me an estimate. Last time I was told it was supposed to be in this past Wednesday and I hadn't heard anything so I called today. I just want to wash and dry our bedding in my own home. If it isn't delivered this weekend they will be refunding our visit to a laundromaut to wash our bedding this weekend, as they haven't been able to keep promised delivery dates twice now and it's been over a month. I have no problem threatening to sue as I think I have a case (at least for small claims). We could have purchased and received this dryer from another store by now. I don't think I will be dealing with Lowe's again for appliances.

    Ugh all the wine tonight.

Just got off the phone with Lowe's again. They called LG to ask about it and it has now been pushed back again to July 9th.

...I asked for a manager and told them that now FI and I have to take time out of our weekend and spend money going to a laundromaut because we have no where to dry our bedding, and I want a partial refund on this dryer because if we had it on time (when we ordered initially they said it would be in by June 8!!!!!) we would be able to wash and dry our bedding in our own home without spending more money.

The general manager is coming in this afternoon and they should be giving me a call to see "what they can do". In the mean time, I am going to go read their terms of service for appliance purchases/deliveries.

And still no updates on my timecard issue.

ETF: typo. And I am absolutely picking up some wine on my way home tonight.

  • @AuroraRose41 - You deserve ALL THE WINE my darling. I suggest this approach:

Why is it that when shit rains, it pours? I am so sorry that everything is sucking so hard at one time. . . *HUGS*

  • i missed ALL THE FUN today. stupid work.

    @labro - holy zucchini!!!!

@alpacina - glad you got everything sorted out. i feel like at this point the proposal is such a formality since we have discussed so many WR details and ideas, but its something we both need in order to feel engaged, so formality or not...it's happening.

@eilis1228 - happy early bday and happy engagement-versary!

    have a great weekend everyone!!!
