Walk myself down the aisle?

Due to some family conflicts, my parents will not be attending my wedding, which leaves me with the job of chosing someone else to walk me down the aisle, or walking by myself.  I am fine with not having an escort, however my FI is not too keen on this idea because it isnt traditional.  Thoughts? Help? Ideas please?!

It's perfectly fine to walk yourself down the aisle, I wouldn't choose just anyone to do it because your FI wants to stick to some tradition. If no one sticks in your mind, just walk yourself.

    This.

Who walks you down is something only you can pick. Nobody else should have a say really. If nobody comes to mind walk yourself. Or you and your FI can walk down together.

The person who walks you down the aisle is called your escort.  He/she is there for you if you trip on your high heels or slip on your wedding gown train.  I do not recommend walking down the aisle by yourself for practical reasons.
I have seen several weddings where the bride and groom walk together down the aisle.  It is perfectly acceptable to do this, and rather sweet.

If you'd rather walk alone, that should be strictly up to you. Your FI should have no say unless HE walks with you-and there is no reason he can't unless he doesn't want to.

Otherwise, it's OK to ask someone to whom you're close to escort you. It doesn't have to be a relative or a man.

It's not your fiance's decision on whether or not someone needs to walk you down the aisle.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Why not meet your FI halfway? A former student of mine did this at her wedding and it was a really sweet moment.
