I'm out of wine and beer.    DH has the car.

The questions are, do I ride my bike to the store and maybe getting caught in the rain?  Do I order more than $50 worth of alcohol  in order to get the liquor store to deliver or do I just go without?

    decisions, descions.
Dude, you lost me here... You have a liquor store that DELIVERS?!?!?

Yep.  I've never used the service though.  The liquor store is less than a mile away so I've never bother.   Today might be the day.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • Well now I have a FWP - my favorite liquor store is not only 17.3 miles away, they also do not deliver.

I have vodka and tequila. Plus lots of cheese. And wine. I went to Trader Joe's while hungry. Bad idea.

My FWP is that there isn't a way to retract a sent e-mail.  I sent a work related e-mail yesterday to a guy that had an unusual name (luckily not a client or potential client).  I sent it from my iPhone.  Later I was looking in my sent e-mails for something and happened to notice that I started the e-mail with "Hi, Fathead"... MY iPHONE AUTO-CORRECTED THIS GUYS NAME TO "FATHEAD"! Oops!

If you use Gmail or a custom work email interface that runs on the Gmail system, you can set up an "Undo Send" option for yourself with a timer. I have one set to 30 seconds so I can have a second glance over what I just sent and retract it if need be. The recipient won't actually receive it until the timer runs out, so you won't want to make it too long. :) There may be similar options from other providers, too.

  • I put a flat screen TV on Craigslist for $30.  It works perfectly but is really old!  I figured having someone take it off my hands and having $30 was better than putting it on the street or paying someone to come haul it away.

SO many people want it that I am mad I didn't list it for $50!

  • what ever you do this weekend guys, give it large!!!
  • My FWP problem so far today:

We got the hot tub set up last night, and it fits perfectly in this space in the basement (where the elliptical used to live), but we don't know what we're supposed to do with the chemicals exactly.  So we need to go to the pool store and have them explain it, so we can't use it yet :-(

I'm also getting DH to admit that his chairs in the basement are very ugly and "don't go with the hot tub" so maybe we can get rid of them soon!!  Nothing is ever actually gotten rid of in his family, so his parents will probably take them, though.

I used to have my Outlook at work set to 5 minute send delay... mainly because I have a habit of forgetting to include attachments on e-mails when I get in a hurry.  But, it doesn't do the send delay when I send e-mails from my phone. And even if I did have a delay, I didn't notice the mishap until a couple hours later.  So, even if there was an option to retract the e-mail, he likely had seen it by then anyway.

I am SO jealous.  We are starting house hunting and one of our requirements is someplace to put a hot tub (or one that is already there). It would be so awesome for my back issues.  Bath tubs are too small and the water doesn't stay hot long enough, so I currently get by with very hot showers every night. My parents had a hot tub while I was growing up, so I miss that.

The garage was our back up plan (vs the yard), so I'm sure you can find one of those! :-)  We hadn't really considered an indoor space until we already had the tub.  Draining it may be a huge nightmare, and we need to get a dehumidifier, but hopefully it will work out.  That's vinyl plank flooring there, even though it looks like wood.

Hopefully someday we will have a deck and a "real" hot tub with jets (this has air jets, not water), but this seemed like a good starter tub, and I got it on amazon for $330 as their Deal of the Day!  Not every deck can support a hot tub, so keep that in mind when you're looking!

Dh already is claiming part of the garage for his "workshop" space. He would like a 3-car garage, even though we only have 2 vehicles, just so he has "his" space.  Either that or we would really love to find a home that has a separate workshop building, or space to build/put one.  I'd much rather him do welding and highly flammable tasks in a space not attached to our house. So, putting a hot tub in the garage may not be an option for us... I don't think he would be so agreeable to my hot tub if he had to sacrifice his work space for it.

In AZ, most outdoor patios are just concrete slabs, so that should be suitable for hot tub... worst case scenario would be that we need to pour a stronger concrete slab. I would love to put one inside or build a room around it though, so it's more feasible to use year round.  I don't think a hot tub would have the same effect when the water is 105 and the outside air temp is 115 in summer. We've thought about just doing a Jacuzzi bathtub with heated jets, but I've seen bad reviews of them continuously breaking down and they take SO much water to fill each time.

  • @princessleia22 (to break up the quote boxes).  Have you hard of Spaberry??  I don't know too much about them, but we say them when we were looking for a tub.  They're a 2 person hot tub, plugs into 110V wall sockets and they're movable, so you can put them almost anywhere.  That might be an option for you

  • @luckya23 Okay, when's the hot tub party?!?!?
  • @luckya23 Okay, when's the hot tub party?!?!?
So we just went in for the first time - we couldn't put the bubbles on with the two of us in there because it splashed over the sides!  So... I think everyone will have to take turns! haha
