I think they are trying to get more memberships, not necessarily for the holidays but just in general. Their streaming service is growing a lot and they just introduced same-day shipping in some areas so I think they are just trying to get more members to support their constant changes to the business. I personally love prime and use it all the time! I am just wondering if it's going to be the same price-slashing that you usually see for Black Friday, because they only say "more deals than Black Friday" and specify what kinds of items will be features but don't say if the discounts will be similar.

I am ALL ABOUT Amazon Black Friday. I buy so much crap off Amazon when they do all those lightning deals. How am I supposed to scout the deals when I'm MOVING THAT DAY?!?

Good excuse to take more rest time, haha.

I think I get an amazon order in the mail like once a week lol some of their prices are TOO GOOD. All I know is I need a new pair of shoes and that TV so I want those deals to be awesome lol

@knockonwood5127 - I had Panera twice yesterday (chicken BBQ flatbread for lunch, lobster roll for dinner) and I would do it all again tomorrow

I know that there are a few hardcore J-Law fans here, but I also happen to LOVE Bill Murray. So I'm just gonna go ahead and end this Thursday with this awesome picture from Comic Con. (I also apologize if it's huge.)

@beanbot2002 - Those inspiration pics are AWESOME! I've been growing out my hair so that hopefully I'll have an excuse to do an amazing hairdo like that someday. Just once, then I can chop it off again, haha.

@AlPacina omg FI and I are planning to go downtown this weekend . Tickets are nearly impossible to get, but we can go celebrity spotting and there are tons of things to do outside of the convention center. Maybe I will see J.Law!

ETA: Now to go read what happened today on here that lead to 5 pages of insanity.....

@bethsmiles hang in there. I know it's annoying, our families did the same thing. 

@Caseface5 and @TwoDimes, Vegas is only an hour flight away from me. I have enough Southwest miles to fly there for free (minus the $20 security fees or whatever), so if you two go I want in too!

@eilis1228 I LOVE OUR NINJA! We have the same one and it is amazing. FI actually was the one that bought it and I didn't understand what the big deal was. We have to warn each other before we turn it on because it is so loud! But it does a great job blending and I love the single serve attachments! 

@AlPacina that bar does sound really cool! Congrats on closing! 

@beanbot2002 wow your engagement flew by! Also thank you for sharing hair pictures...I love them (and may be stealing a few to show to my hair stylist!). I was thinking about doing an updo with braids as well. I can't wait to see it on you! Please keep sharing more about your wedding . 

re: responding to everyone. I do try to read everything, but sometimes I just don't have much to say. When I have free time I really make an effort to respond to everyone but lately I have had to pick and choose due to lack of time (and the threads are already at 3 pages most days by the time I wake up due to the time difference). So I don't mean to offend if I haven't talked to you directly in a while, but I do read your posts . 

I think everyone else covered the Stag and Doe and Cash Bar issue. Also even us non-OMH's here currently planning our weddings have managed to figure out how to fund it ourselves and properly host everyone, so it can be done. 

FI is starting to lose hope in Google, and last night on a whim decided to apply to a large company back in NY. Considering many of our coworkers have been hired instantly there (some with higher salaries than what we currently make here), there is a good chance he could get a job offer and we might move back. At least I would be closer to many of you ladies! So...now it looks like there is a serious possibility of that, and we might just end up buying a house there if we do that since we could actually afford one there (and the mortgage would be cheaper than rent). I could go to law school still, but the jobs in my field are very limited in that area, so I'm not sure. 

On top of that, my friend who just got engaged was talking to me all day yesterday, and I helped her with some planning aspects. She never even thought of some of these things, and I have helped numerous other friends, and I have found this whole process to be fun for me (I find myself looking at wedding things while relaxing). All of my friends say I'm really good at this and all ask for my help, so I figure why not make money helping others? So now I am seriously throwing around the possibility of doing a complete 180 and starting a planning business. There aren't many planners in that area of NY, and the ones that are there all seem to do generic weddings (the portfolios looked like similarly decorated expensive weddings in different colors). I would try to market it to more unique weddings, lower budget weddings (while still properly hosting), and also wedding website design (since I spent so much time figuring ours out...I could easily do it for others who want modern looking ones or advise them on what to include). Gahh I have no idea if I want to do this or law now. 

No matter what I decide, I'm really crossing my fingers that FI hears back from one of these companies soon though, because I just heard today that an announcement is being made next week regarding layoffs.

@beanbot2002 - GORGEOUS.  In fact, I was so excited that I put an extra "G" in there at first and spelled it "GORGEGOUS".  Those are beautiful!!!
