wear my wedding gown to the after party?

I will be paying 400++ for a dress. Should I wear it all night (AW'ish) or spend more money on a second dress? My fiance will be wearing his suit all night. I told him I will just make him a shirt that says "just got wifed up". (Joke)

I wore my dress ALL NIGHT LONG! I didn't want to take it off when it was finally time to go to sleep. In my opinion it's more AWish to get a second "special" dress for the after party (though I also wouldn't side-eye someone for doing this if it were their style). So, if you love your dress, I see no reason not to wear it as long as you'd like!

You only get to wear your dress once! Rock it for as long as possible! I have a feeling I'll end up like @redheadbride15 and not want to take mine off when the night is over. lol.

I suspect I'll still be wearing mine in the car on the way to the airport. I didn't want to take it off in the dress shop, and I certainly won't want to the day of.

So yeah, wear it. Just make sure your bustle can stand up to whatever your after-party throws at you.

This is a good question. I think it depends upon the style of the dress... are you actually physically comfortable wearing it out to the after party? I'm thinking if it's a ball gown, you might have more fun in a casual white dress or another lightweight option. It depends upon the gown. Some are more loose and easy to move in than others.

I doubt anyone would consider it AWish to wear the dress all night. People know that a wedding dress costs a lot of money, so anyone who would judge would be an ass in my book. Wear it!!

I wore my dress as long as I possibly could.  I loved my dress and didn't want to take it off.  So yes, I rocked my super formal gown to a local pub and don't regret it for a second.

If someone thought I was an AW, well I don't give a crap because it was my wedding day and the one day I could get away with wearing a huge white gown all day long.

I had a giant ball gown - and you can bet your butt I wore it to the after party at a karaoke bar!! The owner of the bar made a huge deal about it for us - put us in a VIP section, gave us a bottle of champagne on the house, took a photo of us for their facebook page - the works!
