Registry help

I keep hearing complaints through the grapevine that 1) my registry info isn't in my invite (only heard that one once) and 2) that there isn't much on my registry. How would you respond to that? We have been living together for years so we don't need many material items. I would have done a Honeyfund, but ... tacky.

Re: Registry help

  • 1) "We didn't want people to feel obligated to buy us gifts."
    2) "We don't need much in the way of boxed gifts. We are saving up for XYZ."

    Perfect. Thanks!
  • Have their kneecaps broken. They ask too many questions! Or what Belle said.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • What they said.  But seriously, who doesn't know how to find a registry these days?  There's usually only like five or six main places people register and a quick google search will usually come up with others.  My rather tech-averse, can't work the directv remote, pay per minute flip-phone carrying mother manages to find people's registries all the time without being told (sometimes she's just being nosy, other times she'll be looking up someone with a similar name and lo and behold someone else we know pops up since most of those registry searches only requires you put in the first couple letters of the name).

    What SouthernBelle said.

If there is no registry information anywhere (which is fine), I would generally ask the B&G casually, "Hey, are you guys registered anywhere?". Oh? BBB? Cool. Oh? No where? Also cool.

  • In regards to your registry, don't think of just the things you need, think of what would we go & buy if budget wasn't an issue. For us it was a wine fridge, mini fridge for mancave, power wine bottle opener, board games to have for inviting friends over for game nights, fresh towels, yard games etc. None of it was needed, but it sure if fun having them now. Also check out your utensils and cookie sheets, any of those that could use some updating?
