FRIDAY!!

We made it! I swear this has been the longest week ever. This morning I burned myself with my curling wand (which I never do!) while I was doing my hair. Ugh. I just can't wait for the workday to end.

This evening we are having a girls night - pizza and Magic Mike! Tomorrow I'm going shopping with my mom and probably cleaning the house because it needs it! Sunday DH and I are going shooting/fishing with his grandpa. What are your weekend plans?

Re: FRIDAY!!

  • Ouch I hope your burn is ok. I do that sometimes (it's rare but it happens) and it sucks!

Today after work we're going to the bank to see if we can get pre-approved for a mortgage, and then we're going to the demolition derby (I've never been to one, but I've always wanted to go ever since Pinky Tuscadero drove in one on Happy Days!) and then getting lots of crappy County Fair food :)

Tomorrow I think we're gonna finish rehabbing an old table and maybe go back to the farmer's market now that we know that's where you can buy the best steaks ever! (And bacon!) Mmmm....

  • Sounds fun, but sorry you burned yourself...!!!

    (Slightly NSFW, wear headphones.)

I'm seeing Taylor Swift this weekend! Yeah, I know, a lot of people hate her or or say she's cray, but her music is super catchy and I've never even seen a pop show. Will be interesting how different it is from usual rock/alternative shows that I see.

  • Thank goodness it's Friday! Longest week ever.

Tonight, H and I are going to a food truck rodeo in town. I'm so excited! I'm going to eat ALL the food. Two different mac and cheese trucks, a grilled cheese truck, a wrap truck, and another one that has a huge variety of everything. Plus fried dough!

Tomorrow is a work around the house day. We're getting a load of mulch delivered today so all of that needs to be put down in our beds. I also need to clean the whole house and mop the floors. Not very exciting.

Sunday is supposed to be over 90 degrees here so I think H and I will find somewhere to go swimming in the afternoon. We also have a family BBQ that we have to go to Sunday early evening, which should be fun because I'll get to meet a whole boatload of his cousins that I haven't met yet.
  • @thisismynickname I have also jumped on the T Swift bandwagon. I have a friend that makes fun of me because I used to hate her music but now it's like she's reinvented it. And it's all just so good!

To your friend: haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate. ;-)

cupcait927 my God that food truck experience sounds amazing. Enjoy and have a grilled cheese for me...

  • I have no plans. I got invited to a cookout tonight, but I will only know the hosts, and one of them doesn't like me, so I'm not going. I don't want to feel awkward there by myself.

@thisismynickname and @novella1186 I'm so stinkin excited. There's a huge food truck rodeo every month of summer in the "big" city near me but H and I haven't been able to make it up there so this will be a nice compromise. We'll probably end up at this outdoor bar right on the lake we live on afterwards so it will be the perfect night of yummy food and drinks.

ETA - @thisismynickname - I am so unbelievably jealous that you are going to see Taylor Swift. I adore her and would LOVE to see her in concert!
  • I would love to see T-swift!

I am working from home today- I have had a cold all week that I can't seem to shake. And I had the MOST ANNOYING week at work- seriously, graduate students can be huge babies sometimes. So when I woke up today, I made the executive decision to NOT make the 1 hour commute to work and just stay home. So far, I am pretty happy with my decision :)

We are having friends over for dinner tonight and we are grilling porkchops and pineapple, so I am pretty excite about that. Tomorrow is a niece's 6th birthday party and Sunday we may go tubing, weather permitting.

  • I don't think we have any concrete plans other than house work. DH is going to mow and work outside and I'll clean the inside and do laundry on Saturday. I really want to grill out some steaks this weekend.

Tonight we'll probably go get wings and beer, like every Friday.

Two of our BFFs are having a baby (together) and they find out the sex this weekend! I cannot wait. She said she will call me right after and then I am going to town to buy cute outfits!

We always use Sunday as our family day. Church in the morning then seeing our families later on.

  • This week flew by for me, which is rare since I have lots of fun stuff going on this weekend.  Tonight I'm going to a friend's house for a BBQ.  They just had a new deck put on and we are christening it with some burgers & beer!

Tomorrow, H & I need to mow the lawn :(  But that is our only unfun thing this weekend.

Then on Sunday, a friend and I are going to NYC to see U Freaking 2!  I cannot wait!  We saw them in Philly 4 years ago and this leg of their tour they weren't stopping here.  So we made the executive decision to travel up to NYC to see Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullens, Jr.  We booked this in early December and NOW IT'S FINALLY HERE!

  • I only have a 30 min meeting with my prof instead of regular class today, so I'm taking today to write a paper for my other class.  So calm down on the drama for a few hours, ok ladies??  I need to work.  ;)

Sorry about the cold. Have you tried a Hot Toddy? They work wonders :)

  • Going to replace my phone tonight since my current one went totally kaput on me the other day.  Will probably go to the gym after.

Tomorrow is the usual- meditation, grocery shopping / farmer's market.  I'm also taking my e-ring in for repair since I lost a stone just before the 4th of July.  Fiance texted this morning asking if I wanted to meet him for dinner after his work shift.  No cooking for me? YAY!

Sunday I hope we can grill.  I'm getting fresh blueberry brats made at the grocery store Saturday and if the weather it nice, I hope we can grill at PILs' on Sunday.

Got the "invite" to my shower in the mail yesterday...  Everything is coming on so quickly now that we're under 90 days!

I took today off of work so yesterday was my Friday.  I am planning on cleaning and organizing my apartment. In reality, I will probably continue to binge watch Scandal. I did set up my modem and wireless router so I have internet at home again.  Kind of lame, but I named my new wireless network, Pretty fly for Wi-Fi. It was either that or Hey kids get off my LAN.
Our wifi is called Wannabe Hipsters. My H really wants to be a hipster but he hates facial hair, is too chicken to get a tattoo, works in the financial industry, only owns button-down shirts, and would never be caught dead in skinny jeans. I tell him that alas, he's never going to be anything but a preppy.

Anyway, we have friends visiting this weekend and I'm excited! Tomorrow we're doing a Sam Adams brewery tour. Sunday we're doing a chocolate factory tour and seeing the Foo Fighters.

Busy weekend ahead.... need to work on house cleaning.  My shower is in 2 weeks and is being hosted at my house, so I need to start making sure everything is spic and span.  I also have to clean our camper.  We went on an 8 day camping trip at the end of June, during which our AC in our camper broke, so the windows stayed open the entire time (which didn't help when it was 100+ out), so the inside of the camper got filthy from all the dust.

Oh yeah also need to go water MOHs plants/prep for their homecoming, and perhaps go shopping for a dress for my shower.  I have one I can wear, but I'm not crazy about it, so we'll see if I can find something else I like better.

  • I pretty much already did my weekend running errands and stuff with DH while he was off the last 2 days!  Yesterday we went and picked up our marriage certificate at city hall so we could finally combine accounts at the bank and open a new savings to deposit our wedding gifts.  I also took him to get some blood work done (he hasn't been to the doctor in OVER 10 YEARS!!) and I cancelled my gym membership.  We also had to mostly drain the hot tub because we screwed up the chemicals and refill it.

DH finally did his thank you cards last night!  He skipped some (like his parents and grandma) so I'll just suck it up and write those.

My BFF is staying with us this weekend, but we're just planning to go in the hot tub if it's straightened out and my parents' pool if the weather cooperates.  We also have a zillion returns to do - I have to return a bunch of wedding décor stuff that I didn't end up using.

  • TGIF x10000. I am so looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Weekend plans will include a bbq on Saturday, Brunch and Vera Wang sample sale on Sunday and Gilmore Girl binge on Netflix in between all of the outdoor activities. Just 5 more hours.

  • Someone at work just tole me I look glow-y.  How nice- especially since I haven't washed my hair in 2 days and kinda felt "blah" this morning.  :-)

She asked if I was wearing make up.  HA HA HA HA HA HA!
  • Last weekend was a super busy weekend for me. I had my hair trial (which I looked super amazing!!!!), my dress fitting (they had to make my dress in over 2 inches. Go me?) as well as my shower and my bachelorette.

So to be honest this weekend? Not a whole lot of anything. Going to finish up favours, and my dad, who is our MC, emailed us a template with questions he wants us to fill out. But other than that, there will be sleeping in and wine.

  • I totally woke on the wrong side of the bed... or should I say the couch today.    I've been coughing so bad I can't sleep.   I'm keeping DH and the dogs up, so I've moved downstairs.

I'm so grumpy right now.   And what is up with the dogs still coming to me to let them out? I'm sick dammit, don't they know that?   Nope, they let daddy sleep like there is no care in the world.  Me?  It's all "let's go mom. I have to pee, poo and don't forget breakfast".  Grr.

Oh and I did call the doctor yesterday.  First appointment?  Next Thursday. What happen to the days where doctors held out a few appointments for last minute sick people?   I was referred to the after-hours clinic. The one that opens the same time I work all weekend.

I have a coworker who once said I looked "glowing" immediately after coming back from getting a root canal. I couldn't decide if she was taking pity on me or if she was just clueless and/or full of shit.

I hear you on the Doctor thing. We have a severe shortage in our city right now (about 12 doctors for 40K people) and getting an appointment is ridiculous. I have hypothyroidism and its been out of whack lately which means appointments every 3 months. I called on June 1 to get an appointment and the first one they had available was July 16, which happened to be 2 days AFTER I ran out of prescription....

It's getting a little ridiculous.   So basically I have to have a "primary" doctor then if I'm sick last minute I have to go to a after-hours clinic that is staffed by a few different doctors.   They are completely different places and not connected by a network of any sort.

My DH is on so many meds right now, he needs a doctor who knows his history.  The last time he went to the after-hours.  Got a script.  Went to the pharmacy.  They found a conflict  in meds.  Tried to call the doctor back to get something else.  Took until the next day.  Had he been able to get an appointment for his primary doctor this might not have happened.

  • I just turned on my furnace.  :(  It's freezing here today

  • I am SOOO glad it's Friday! This was my first full week back at work since the wedding and honeymoon. It was a rough week.

@thisismynickname  That's rad you get to see Taylor Swift! I used to be kinda "meh" about her, but Shake it Off was just too damn catchy, and now I like her music.

I am leaving work early today to go to the DMV to get my name changed on my license (did Social Security office yesterday and it was refreshingly quick and easy). I think H and I may go see Jurassic World tonight. He wants to see it in 3D, but last time I saw a movie in 3D it hurt my eyes. But that was years ago, so maybe the technology has improved?

Tomorrow we're going to go to the river to pick blackberries in the morning, then we're seeing TV on the Radio at a festival in the afternoon. Super excited about that!

No plans Sunday, I think I shall sleep and catch up on crappy TV.
