Happy Friday

Wow, I'm not used to only 1 post when I first pop in morning wise.

My class ended yesterday, so I'm spending the day writing my final paper for that one.  Really don't want to start, so I'm procrastinating here.  I have my other class tomorrow morning, and then I'm off for the weekend.  We might hit up the local fair.

Any plans for today/the weekend??

Re: Happy Friday

  • I am mad at my job today and already took the afternoon off to go wedding desert tasting so I'm watching Rachel Ray and drinking coffee instead of working!  And possibly adopting a kitten tomorrow:).

  • MOH and I are going estate saleing tomorrow.  I don't know much about my shower, which is in a week from tomorrow, but I know it's a tea party sort of thing so I guess we're on the hunt for teacups/saucers.  We also need to go shopping for her dress.

Sunday will be laundry and lots of cleaning.  My mom and stepdad arrive on Tuesday, they'll be here for a week.  Then FI's mom and sister arrive next Friday and the shower is at my house, so have to make sure it's super clean!

  • YAY for a Happy Friday post! I am so happy that it's the end of the week, one last day of work to go then some down time! My weekend will consist of cleaning and yard work since FI has surprised me with the fact that he's coming home next weekend for a few days!!! I am so excited to have him here, he hasn't been home in over 3 months, but now I need to make sure the house is in top shape before he gets here!

  • I had a pretty stressful week - three deadlines, lab work at the dr, and a puking dog. But it's Friday and it's National Tequila Day, so this evening will be spent not thinking about work or the lab work, snuggling the poor doggie, and margaritas. Plural.

No real plans for the weekend, but the weather is supposed to be nice, so most likely we will just spend as much time outdoors as possible.

@WinstonsGirl the fair sounds like fun! @kimmiandkoley I am so excited for you and your future kitten! And @julieanne912 your estate sale shopping adventure sounds really awesome!

    Happy Friday, ladies!!

  • This time tomorrow I will be on the beach drinking a fruity drink!

We are headed to check out my parent's new condo this weekend. I'm so excited to have a little mini-vacation. Everyone at work has been talking about their vacations all summer and it's making me sick!

  • I have a ton of work to catch up on, but I'm hoping to have some time to work on my tan!image

Tomorrow is 4 weeks since our wedding, so I think there's a chance we may get our photos today!

  • FI and I have to go 'to the big city' for car repairs tomorrow (By big city I mean a two hour drive over the border into Alberta to the nearest city with a Costco). On our last big hiking trip a rock flew up under our vehicle and damage the o2 sensor. Because it's still under warranty we have to go to a dealership to get it done, the nearest one being 2 hours away.

So we're making a date out of it, used some of FI's points to get a free hotel room. Going to see a movie in a 'real' theater, maybe do some shopping. Grab a nice supper.

That actually sounds really nice! I love your idea of turning a crappy situation/annoying errand into a fun adventure :-)
  • I've already finished my work for the day and gotta find a way to kill the next 5 hours. But then it's off to the beach!
  • @kimmieandkoley - Photos please, if you do end up with the cat.

@soontobemrsklein - Any ideas on what movie??  We go way too often, but I love movies.

I am so jealous of everyone who is going away this weekend, especially if you're going to the beach.

  • Yes, FRIDAY! Thank goodness.

I have been in some kind of mood this week and just on the verge of tears. I'm determined to not get down on circumstances I can't change and to have a good weekend.

I'm helping my mom clean a house tonight. I foresee a lot of wine to follow.

Tomorrow I'm cleaning our house and doing laundry. DH and I are getting a couple of Redbox movies in town for the night. I need to get my eyebrows threaded.

i don't know what we'll do Sunday, hopefully just relax.

We just saw Jurrassic World on Monday in our tiny town theater, so I think we are leaning towards Ant Man. I really want to see Inside Out, because hello Pixar, but I think that would be a better one to see at home.

  • We loved AntMan.  The best were the fighting scenes, where at the little size, it's huge explosions, destroying everything and then you see it from the human view point and a lego piece falls over.  It was a lot of fun

  • I have a busy weekend.     Working now, then I have to be at the other job at 3pm for a gala.    Then back in tomorrow and Sunday.      I keep telling myself what an awesome vacation we are going to have in October and then again in November. (some of the pay from the seasonal job goes towards our fall vacations)

DH bought my birthday gift today.  A pilates reformer.   I can't wait till it gets here.

  • Tomorrow H and I are celebrating our anniversary (that was Monday). We're going to see Blue Man Group and going to dinner at the restaurant where we had our wedding. Hotel rooms downtown are expensive and I'm still trying to talk myself in or out of spending $300 to not have to drive home after dinner and then be able to go to the aquarium on Sunday morning.

  • TGIF, for sure. I am soooo over work this week!

We don't have any plans, because H has been sick for over two weeks now. He got a cold on the last day of our honeymoon, and since last Friday he's had a fever too :(

On Monday he went to the doctor, who thought he had a sinus infection, and she put him on antibiotics. When the doc called on Wednesday to check in, she was surprised that the fever hadn't broken yet and made him go back in yesterday. She put him on a stronger antibiotic and ordered blood work and a chest x-ray, so H is at the imaging place now for the x-ray... I am a hypochondriac, so I'm trying to keep my mind from going to bad places. It could be pneumonia, possibly mono (though he had mono already), but now his neck hurts so I immediately go to meningitis. (I know, I know, jumping to drastic conclusions probably isn't helpful, but this whole situation is stressing me out.)

It's been a long two weeks... H is not all that pleasant when he's sick, but I have kept my patience and have done all the housework while nursing him. So I'm tired. My weekend will probably consist of taking care of him and cleaning the house and sleeping.

  • Happy Friday!

I am currently at work and behind on a project that is due Monday. But, my brain is having trouble focusing so I'm finding myself procrastinating online.  So, that means I will likely be spending my weekend working to catch up on all the stuff I should be getting done right now.

  • Fiance left this morning for his bachelor party, so I've got most of the weekend to myself until he gets home on Sunday evening.

It's open mic night at a club in my town so I'll probably go check that out.  Or sleep since I've been traveling the last two days and not much went well in terms of timing / sleep.

This weekend I'm going to try to address all of my invites and get those out.

Beyond that, I have no idea.

  • I'm halfway through my two weeks notice so I've got a really bad case of "what're they gonna do, fire me?" and have been really unproductive. Apparently FI has planned a date for us tonight and then I want to do absolutely nothing for the rest of the weekend. It probably won't work out that way.
  • Here's Kennedy for those who asked!!  Truman (our 1 yr old furbaby) is curious but not impressed.

That sounds like exactly what my DH had a few weeks ago. It ended up being pneumonia. Poor guy had a 103.8 fever, but the doctors said he didn't show the typical signs of pneumonia. Once they did a chest x-ray, that's when they caught it. I hope your H is feeling better!!

WTF is with these summer illnesses?! H's chest x-ray came back clear, as did the blood work (so not pneumonia or mono). He FINALLY woke up on Sunday morning without the fever, so the new antibiotics appear to be working - so it was likely just a bad upper respiratory infection. He is still not 100%, but definitely on the mend. Thank god - we were BOTH getting really sick of him being sick :-/
