@jenjen047 I think @buddysmom80 got an eternity band. Her e-ring was also an eternity band style and it looked really nice together! I have a simple pave style setting and the ring has a slight curve in to accommodate the halo around my e-ring. Definitely try on lots of things to see what you like! You may want something big and sparkly that really stands out or something that sits really flush and blends in to your e-ring. Personally I really love wedding rings that have diamonds and other stones in them, I love the extra sparkle they bring!

@bethsmiles - Both of those venues look great! I love the ceremony seating area at The Pines. I've never seen a venue with the stone work like that before!

@jenjen047 My bf's parents are jewelers and they often try to advise customers against eternity bands.  They said its because your finger size is going to fluctuate over the years, which presents two issues. The first is that it can cause the prongs to loosen and your could easily lose stones. The second is during an adjustment there could be damage to the stones, prongs, or band.  That being said they still sell a lot of eternity bands.

*eta I should add, instead of an eternity band they usually suggest a band that the stones go halfway around.  So still sparkly.

  • @AlPacina - The Pines is my top choice at the moment, I really love it! They are super popular and book up really fast though so we'll have to be really flexible with the date if we want it.

  • @labro so your stones don't go all the way around? That's my understanding of an eternity band but I could be totally wrong!
  • @bethsmiles both of those venues are gorgeous! I love the stonework at The Pines.

@jenjen047 I was thinking of the eternity style that looks like this! Lol apparently it's called a split shank. Wow I'm dumb. No, the diamonds on my band are only on the upper half of the ring. They don't go all the way around, but you don't really know unless it twists around my finger or something. I think it's better, I'd constantly be paranoid about chipping the diamonds on the bottom or scratching them or something.

  • @minskat30 I have the soundtrack to Book of Mormon so I have an idea of what we're in for I'm looking forward to it.

    @cu97tiger Sorry about the accident.

@speakeasy14 Our homemade pizza is pretty awesome if I do say so myself.  :-)

@bethsmiles I'm glad the list of venue questions will be of some help! Both of those venues are real pretty!

@twodimes yay you get married tomorrow. So happy for you, I can't wait for pictures!

    Anniversary

  • @bethsmiles - Those venues are both SO gorgeous! I can't wait to hear how it goes!

  • @jenjen047 - Like some PPs have said, I've heard that stones on the inside/underside of the band can become loose because they're tapping on things. I opted not to go that route and like @labro, mine stop half way down on each side which is only visible if I move my pinky and middle finger out of the way.

  • @jenjen047 - I have an eternity band. And, true to form, I lost a stone the second day of my honeymoon. I got it replaced though (MoissaniteCo is FANTASTIC.) Mine is moissanite (LINK) - the stones on my engagement ring are diamonds, and you can't tell the difference. I tried on a diamond eternity band the same size as the moissanite one I ended up getting, and it was over $5,000 - the moissanite was $900.

  • @jenjen047 they are all so pretty!

    Anniversary

  • @jenjen47 - Like PPs have mentioned I'd be nervous about the stones falling out on the bottom of an infinity band, but I'm always worried about the stones falling out of my ring (seriously, I'm so paranoid about it!).

  • Ah got busy at work today. @twodimes have a fantastic wedding!!!!!!!

@minskat30 Have fun at the zoo, everybody loves the zoo!

@bethsmiles good luck at the venues tomorrow, hope you book one

@cu97tiger aaaaw I'm sorry, that sounds like a terrible ordeal but you handled it really well.

@jenjen047 My ring is like a cross between the second and third. It's channel set so the diamonds sit low with no prongs between and they go halfway around like the third pic. All are beautiful, you can't go wrong!

The director of sales is taking some of us to lunch, I already stalked the menu and I'm getting a sub with turkey, roast beef, bacon, fresh mozz.

@jenjen047 I really love all three!! I wish I had a more realistic view of size of the rings in person but I think I love the middle one the most. Unless it's really really thin in person, and then I like the first one!

This is what I have -

  • jenjen047 - I'll be totally honest, I wanted the eternity band because I wanted as much bling as possible. I love my morganite, but unless it's cleaned literally every day (and that OBVIOUSLY isn't going to happen), it just isn't super sparkly. So, full on eternity band it was, haha.

Also, the stones can fall out no matter where they are. My band spins anyway - that's how I noticed that the stone was missing in the first place, because it was on the top. I guess it depends on what kind of work you do, but I find myself hitting the top of my rings far more often than the bottom. Really, the only bad thing I thought about is that it can't be resized.

  • Today is not a good morning for me. My anxiety is terrible today and I have no idea why.
Also, the BM dresses look great!
"You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you." -Ray Bradbury
  • @jenjen047 My jeweler also warned me about eternity bands. His main concern was the inability to resize them, not so much the stones falling out. He instead recommended the bands where the stones go halfway around.

@TwoDimes OMG YOU GET MARRIED TOMORROW! It's going to be the most perfect day ever, and I can't wait to read all about it and see all the amazing pictures. Enjoy every last minute of it!

@bethsmiles Good luck with your venue meetings tomorrow! I hope you're able to book one!

@GoldenPenguin I really would love a daily ring post from you. Your rings are perfect.

@AlPacina I hope you get to read your book this weekend! I hate when pre-orders end up sitting there for days/weeks/months. What book is it?

@Swazzle Enjoy your lazy, relaxing weekend! So jealous! Also, I absolutely love the BM dresses you guys chose!

@southernpeach89 OMG baby shower time!!!!!! Enjoy every minute, take tons of pics, and revel in all the love for you and Callie. <3

@speakeasy14 YAY for moving in this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!

@minskat30 Ugh, I'm sorry the budget talk didn't go so well. *hugs* I hope tonight is better!

    @cu97tiger *hugs*

    ----------------------------------------------
Oi, I am so ready for the weekend. This week has been very long, very stressful, and very bad for my diet. It's just been a really off week.

    Warning, a bit TMI post:

Yesterday SUCKED. I mean, I was super productive at work and got a lot done, but I was swamped all day and felt really off. About mid-day I discovered that AF had come to visit a little early. Ugh. I was trying to extend my birth control out an extra week to accommodate the OBGYN appointment yesterday, but lately whenever I try to manipulate my cycle, my body fights back. This is the first time my period has started before I've taken out the birth control though... not too happy about it. If I can't manipulate my period anymore, I will be on it during my wedding. Oh boy.

I know I've posted a bit about my BC problems and wanting to switch to an IUD. I talked with my doctor about it, and he said I can switch to Skyla after I get back from my HM. Since the first 6 months of an IUD can involve erratic bleeding, he didn't want me to worry about it during the wedding, especially since I don't (yet) have breakthrough bleeding during my normal cycle on my current BC. I'm kind of at a loss now as to what to do though. This really really REALLY sucks. I love my current BC, but my body has obviously gotten used to it, and it's no longer anywhere near as effective as it used to be. I think I'm going to just keep trying to extend my cycle by a week with the current BC... maybe it will stick next month.

Anywho, because of my awful, horrible, no good, very bad day/week, FI surprised me with McDonald's, Reese's, and gummy bears last night. He is the best! I ate it all up and it was totally worth it, except for the majorly awful upset stomach I've had all morning. Oops.

Here's to hoping next week is better. *sigh*

@eilis1228 That really sucks. Maybe @Swazzle has some advice on break through bleeding with Skyla. I can't remember if she battled any or not.

  • @eilis1228 - It's called Love Lies Beneath. It sounded like a twist on the plot of Misery (injured woman kept prisoner by seemingly perfect doctor), or something similar. I didn't get super pulled in yet, I guess because he hasn't started showing his dark side yet? I dunno. . . Your FI is awesome for bringing you all those treats!

  • @eilis1228 ugh that sucks about your body getting used to the BC and your Dr saying to wait to switch till after the wedding.  Hopefully this time your adjustment works and you won't have to worry.  -- Just in case - my sister had hers during her wedding.  Luckily it was towards the end so she didn't have to rush to the bathroom all night. She used a Diva cup which helped a lot too.

  • @eilis1228 - sorry to hear about your BC issues :( and fingers crossed you dont have your period during your wedding. the IUD will be magical, i promise!

@labro @jenna8984 @goldenpengiun @eilis1228 and anyone else i forgot - thanks for all the advice!!! FI and i just went shopping at lunch. my jeweler listed the same cons for eternity bands, but said its really a personal preference  thing. i think i decided against an eternity band. i have to say i was surprised how much i feel like my e-ring got lost with the wedding ring. but i really dont want a plain ring. i found a couple i liked a lot and the jeweler reminded me we are having a tax-free weekend on 8/15. i can pre-order my ring and they will just run the purchase on that day. between both our rings we will probably save $200. both rings i liked ended up being like the 2nd pic i posted above except one went 3/4 of the way around and the other went just halfway around.

tomorrow i will go to the store that is having a sale to see how prices compare. we are also going to shop around online to see if prices are much better. but unless they are SIGNIFICANTLY better, we will buy  from the store we went to today. FI got my e-ring there and we just love the store.
  • @jenjen047 - I have the second one you posted and LOVE it.  :)
  • We don't gif enough so this is what I feel like lately.......
