Fave Thing About Wedding Day

What was your favorite detail about your wedding day?  Other than marrying your sweetie and having all your loved ones together.

Mine would have to be my bouquet.  It turned out better than I ever could have imagined.

Re: Fave Thing About Wedding Day

  • All peony bouquet.  Loved it!

My florist made us a toss bouquet so I didn't have to throw this gorgeous one thankfully.  The one I tossed wasn't near as pretty.
  • Definitely my flowers... the centerpieces came out nicer than I imaged!

  • I think it was the fun we were having.  Our bridal party barely knew each other but by the end of the weekend they were all new best friends.  I love that!

    i LOVED my cake.
  • I loved the toast our best man made, it was surprisingly sweet, I wasnt expecting him to say such great things, and it made me cry ! And one of my bridesmaids made a wonderful toast that made me cry again, lol....I didnt cry the whole time until they did there toasts.
  • My favorite thing about our wedding day was leaving after the ceremony to take pictures alone. It was the best part of the whole day because we actually got to take it all in and spend some time together. Plus the pictures turned out beautiful.

  • I don't know if I can pick just one thing. The ceremony was beautiful and emotional. I loved how the recption venue looked. All of the centerpieces and florals were different and it looked awesome!

I have kids from my first marriage. Instead of having my friends as bm I had my three teenage daughters. Hy H knew that none of them would want to get up and make a speech but he wanted someone close to me to give a toast so he secretly arranged for my best friend to make the "maid of honor" toast. It was so sweet and heartfelt and completely unexpected.

  • My MIL made the best, most sentimental, unique, and original toast! She made me cry 3 times! I LOVED her speech!

Also, my favorite part of the day was just taking it all in, enjoying every moment, and not rushing through anything! Everything I did I just tried to soak it up and enjoy everything that was happening, from waking up to falling asleep with my new husband. That mentality made a BIG difference for me! :)
  • This might sound self-centered, but I think it was my hair. I was going to leave it straight and down, and pull it back in a low-pont for the reception, but my bridal party ganged up and convinced me to get it done. I went all out with a loose curly updo and a sparkly comb, and I felt like a greek goddess or something.
  • We did a "first look" so we could crank out all our photos pre-ceremony.  We and our bridal party wanted to just relax and party post-ceremony (and actually get to attend the cocktail hour).  But the first look was so spine-tingly romantic, it turned out to be the best part of the day.  Our photographers were like ninjas (we had no clue where they were or that they were taking pictures), our bridal party was out of sight, so it really was just the two of us.  I think that was our only alone time all day.  Oh, and the cake was really good, but I'm kind of a cake slut, so it's hard for me to find a cake I wouldn't eat.

  • Definately not my favorite moment but one of the ones I like to talk about.  Standing at the front of the aisle with my husband during part of the ceremony I locked eyes with his grandma.  That point was the closest I was to tears.  She was so excited for us and you could see it over the rest of his side that was sitting around her.  I hope I never forget the look she gave me.
