Re: Pretty upset, tonight

  • I am so sorry for all you and your family are going through. I cannot imagine.

They had the service, for H's cousin, today.  It was emotionally draining, but it was also extremely helpful.  The pastor's message was so tailored to the family, that I am sure it helped everyone realize all of the emotions they are experiencing are completely normal. They even played a secular song that made everyone cry because it was so fitting. It was the most beautiful, healing service I have ever heard. It really spoke to me, I hope it helped his family.
Apparently, H's cousin was at the cemetery when he doused himself in gasoline.  He lived in a tight-knit community, and someone who knew him saw everything unfold and screamed "no!,"  but it was too late.  H's cousin said to the paramedics, "Am I dreaming?  This must be a dream."  The paramedics told him he wasn't dreaming.  He said he thought he was dreaming, and he would never do this to his family.  Those were the last words he ever spoke. I guess H's cousin was treated involuntarily for a week and was released.  A week after his release he took his life. It's just so tragic.
