Whatever Wednesday

Re: Whatever Wednesday

  • @jenjen047 That isn't too bad! It isn't like you are moving the dinner to 9 or something.

  • @swazzle - I don't even like catfish, typically, but anything cooked in butter is right up my alley. I loved it! And the cuts of meat are always so fabulous! I really didn't like how much vinegar scent came off the caponata, though.

    @untouchablets - Your coworker sounds like she lives for drama. People like that irritate the crap out of me.

    @caseface5 - Wow, yea. That wedding sounds like way more trouble than it's worth.

    @jenjen047 - I feel you on the spending time together argument, except it is the opposite way for us. I want my BF to go do stuff on his own more often, but he always wants me to go to everything, which sometimes makes his friends the third wheel for dinners that I'd be perfectly fine with him going to on his own. But I go, typically, because it's not worth the trouble of trying to talk my way out of it.

    @MsKittyDanger - What's Harvey's?

    @eilis1228 - Good luck, miss domestic goddess!

    --------------------------------

    I don't have much to say today! I also made the catfish last night and found it phenomenal. Tonight I have no ideas for what to make for dinner, but I'm starting to get more concerned with what I'm going to feed my family when they visit this weekend! I'm thinking Mac N Cheese and BBQ'd ribs? So maybe I'll just stick with that for now.

    I finished season 1 of PLL yesterday, and really wish I could have continued watching once BF got home, but he immediately started making fun of it. We watched a couple more episodes of Sense8. Has anyone else watched the first season? Is it weird that the everybody having sex at the same time scene got me REALLY HOT? Because boyfriend just kept getting pissed that the "hot ones" weren't involved. Haha!

    I don't know if I'll be on here tomorrow. I'm taking the day off because my friend and I are going to a matinee of Wicked! I almost completely forgot that was this week! This will be my third time seeing it, but it's a birthday present for her. I don't even care.

    Today is also my dog's first day being left in the backyard at the new house. We didn't have the fence high enough until this weekend, but I'm realizing that he will have way more distractions with our fence being right by a sidewalk, and I hope a neighbor doesn't kill him because of the barking.

  • I've been so busy at work lately so I haven't had a chance to chat. No time to catch up on what I missed since last week-hopefully nothing too important!

    @swazzle that sucks about the train last night. It would probably take me about 15 mins to get to my closest station too and I just can't with that in the winter. Boston's MBTA like completely shut down for periods of time this winter because we need new trains and just weren't prepared for Mother Nature.

    @CocobellaF hope your massage helps!

    @caseface5 that sounds like a shitshow ugh

    @jenjen047 I agree with PPs about not changing the time

    Vent warning:

    I've been a little cranky- Monday I was being kind of mean towards H just because I was cranky and that was pretty shitty of me. So I was going to apologize yesterday when I talked to him on the phone and then I got irritated because apparently on Sunday we have plans with his parents now. We were planning on going to this hot rod show thingy on Sunday and then he talked to his mom yesterday who reminded him that Saturday was her and FILs anniversary. OK..so they're doing something on Saturday and then want to go go the new MA casino and have dinner with us on Sunday. Who wants to celebrate their wedding anniversary with their kid? So now we have to cancel our plans because H says it's rude if we don't go with them on Sunday. I don't like going to casinos because I don't have gambling money and it's pretty boring to stand around for hours watching other people gamble. And it just annoys me that we have to join them for dinner whenever they want. I get to see my H for 1 day during the week and I'm selfish about it. I get really annoyed being around MIL and I think a lot of it has to do with my not being able to see my own parents hardly ever. So I'm just really annoyed and I feel like a bratty bitch but it doesn't change my being annoyed :(

  • @eilis1228 - You ARE a domestic goddess!

    @jenjen047 - Ohhh that makes sense then. And the time change isn't too bad!

    @AlPacina - Glad you liked it too! I love vinegar (I could seriously just drink it) so the smell didn't bother me. You should get @labro's crockpot mac and cheese recipe! Wicked is my second favorite musical (after Cats, of course). Have a great time!

  • @AlPacina must be a Canadian thing! Flame cooked fast-food. Not as greasy as McD's and tastes better!
  • @500days - When you open the package of steak, there will be 2 in there. They don't come individually wrapped!

  • @eilis1228 you have a lot on your plate today, good luck with all that cleaning!

    @lavenderfields13 uuuugh I feel you so much. Our temporary apartment is a duplex that my in-laws own and they live in the other half. So every time we go outside to use the grill or just sit on the patio they come out and join us. I'm like fucking leave me alone. Same as you, my parents live far away and I see them once a year so that does make it worse because I wish I could have that time with them. Sorry you have to go waste your Sunday, you should go just for dinner then leave and not stay for the gambling part.

    @alpacina Wicked sounds fun!

  • @KeptInStitches I really hope you enjoy your first Fix! When is it scheduled for? Make sure you're really specific about your likes, dislikes, and any body concerns too so your stylist doesn't pick something way off base or unflattering.

  • edited August 2015
    @keptinstitches I think I'm going to be addicted to Stitch Fix! I didn't love everything from my last Fix but liked it all so I kept it to get the 25% discount and left notes so they will know what I didn't love for future fixes. I'm also using it to update my work wardrobe so I look like a real adult lol. I have to wait a bit to order another once because money..but it's exciting!

  • @labro, my first Fix is scheduled for August 19. I tried to be as specific as I could - hope I did well enough!
  • I'm so excited about all the StitchFixers around here. MIne will be here tomorrow and after stalking the items, I'm not too pleased with what they sent. I'm hoping to be surprised.

    Thoughts on starting an ongoing StitchFix thread to AW the pieces we get, what we keep, style cards in case anyone wants to request something specific, etc?

  • @Swazzle Maybe if @CocoBellaF could pin it to the top or something? Everyone's Fix dates seem kind of spread out so I see it disappearing quickly ya know?

  • @Swazzle I will join in. Don't have my next one scheduled ATM but hopefully soon!
    friends tv show funy
  • @swazzle I hope your items look better in person/on than you're thinking. I like being surprised but I stalked mine just because I knew I could. How often do you schedule yours?

  • RE: Stitch fix - I had a $20 credit so I just signed up, mine is being delivered on the 14th.

  • @eilis1228 so excited for you.  Once the invitations went out it felt a whole lot more "real"

    Anniversary

  • what is this Stitch Fix you guys speak of?? I'm curious!
  • @lavenderfields13 - I really hope so too. I feel like my stylist didn't read either of my notes and that pisses me off. I get one every month, this will be my 10th!

  • @swazzle, how did you check what items you were being sent?
  • @Swazzle omg I feel like an ass because I emailed saying I only received one and now I have a credit. Are the steaks small to you? I feel like that's tiny size because the whole pack is 10 oz.
  • @KeptInStitches - Once your Fix ships, underneath the tracking number there will be a button that says 'checkout'. Click it and it will have descriptions of the things they've sent to you (no pictures or colors). I Google the items to get an idea of what I'm getting.

  • @500days - This week is either the 2nd or 3rd steak week since I joined and the sizes have been fine for H and me. We've never finished any BA meal and still been hungry afterwards.

  • @mskittydanger It's a website that sends you mystery clothe/ shoes/ accessories based on yuor profile you create, and you can pick and pay for the items you want to keep or return the ones you don't. I don't know if they serve Canada. I haven't tried it yet but I want to since the ladies here have a lot of success with cute items they receive.
