Weather in Honolulu

H and I are leaving for our honeymoon on Wednesday. I looked on The Weather Channel app and it was saying rain practically every day next week. Is this time of year their rainy season? I know the forecast can always change, but it was still disappointing to see.

Hawaii is typically very hot in August and rainfalls are generally low.  In fact, it's almost at the lowest of all the months!  It's a chance of showers.  I'm sure you'll have nice weather the majority of your trip.  Relax and enjoy it!  And don't forget to research weather beforehand for future trips.  ;)
  • We got married in Hawaii.  Our coordinator at the hotel said it was their worst wettest spring ever.  It rained for about 10-15 min each morning, and occasionally in the evening for about 30 min.

I've also been in August with no rain.  Honolulu (and the south part of the island) is generally the most consistent and nicest for weather.  I can't imagine you'll get rain all day every day.

My app has a 40% chance of 1mm rain Wed and 40% chance of less than 1mm Sun.  The rest of the week is beautiful.

  • From what I remember living their, it will rain really hard for about 5 minutes, and when it stops- it's as if it never happened.  It isn't their rainy season at all, that doesn't come till November or so. I'm sure you will get lots of sun, even if there are quick rain showers. Enjoy!!
