Two Months!

We're officially at the 2 month mark, 10-10 brides and grooms! How's the planning going? Any fun DIY projects getting started up or finished?

We just have to finalize our rehearsal dinner... and are checking the mail obsessively for our RSVPs! We sent out our invites last week, and have already gotten 7 back.  

Question - anyone doing gifts to exchange with their husband/wife on the day of? We are, and I am seriously lacking ideas!

Yay! Today is the two month mark and also my dad's birthday!

The FI and I seem to be in this nesting phase where we just want to stay in and spend as much time together as possible. I'm basking in that.

Had our cake tasting on Saturday. Last dress fitting is 8/21, final mtg with DOC is 8/28 and makeup trial is 8/29. We're doing the online application for our marriage license some time at the end of August (to be picked up in person in September), and signing up for dance lessons (to be done during September) some time at the end of August too.

So far this month, FI has finished the wedding programs and table numbers. He's working on the menu napkin rings. I'm buying finishing touch stuff like my gloves, garters (with blue), rehearsal dinner dress, guest book and gift table decor. FI also just bought his groomsmen gifts. And next weekend, I have a mtg with the only bridesmaid I have that's doing any work to see what's to be done about the bachelorette. I'm fine to completely cancel it, but everyone's like "No, you deserve it!". I dunno. I don't think it matters, especially if I gotta wrangle a bunch of drama queens to do it.

C'est la vie. Oh! And our French lessons are coming along well, since we're going to Paris for our honeymoon (and London!).

I made my chalk boards last week and mailed out my wedding invites!
My shower is next weekend and I'm excited for that After my shower I'm going to my alterations lady to have her add a bustle to my dress and do any alterations that need to be done.
I printed the programs and photobooth strips. Now I just need to cut and assemble those.

My wedding is the week after. I'm working on the invites this weekend and mailing them out next week. Next weekend my mom and aunt and grandma are coming to visit and help me work on my DIY centerpieces and bouquets. We are using paper flowers. I am super lucky that my mom made a whole bunch of them for me! I won't just put them to work though, we're going to do some site seeing since in Maine. 

My fiance and I are planning on doing a gift exchange but probably will do it either the night before the wedding or after the honeymoon. I'm not sure what he's getting me but I was thinking about doing a year of date nights for him. I'll have 12 fully paid for date nights ranging from gift certificates to favorite restaurants to a blu-ray and popcorn for a fun movie night at home, to tickets to our local minor league baseball team, etc... For each one I've started writing a sweet love letter and each one relates back to reasons that I fell in love with him. Does that seam like a good gift? I thought it was kind of fun but I also realize that I kind of benefit from the gift too so I wasn't sure...

Oh my gosh - I LOVE your gift idea! That is seriously awesome. I might have to steal that for myself.... seriously inspired! 

I admire you all doing the centerpieces - I could barely handle getting the program together. It's getting to the point where I wish I could do all of that, but I have to give it up before I even start. Ugh.

I made my own chalkboards to! finished them this week! I have to make the menu ones since I want to confirm and finalize that before they are made..that is the windowsill that is painted with chalkboard paint., but those will be quick after the ones I already did!!

I made my programs, RSVP cards, Directions cards, and thank you tags for the favors and bridesmaid gifts, our chair signs, the Ring Box, O and a cowbell for "ring for a kiss"..
