What's pissing you off today?

2 things are pissing me off today:

DH's ex-wife/The Kid's mom is scum. We found out today that she pulled yet another round of illegal bullshit regarding The Kid that will cause us trouble. I can't wait until The Kid turns 18 so we no longer have to deal with her-- and until the State of IL decides that deadbeat moms should be treated the same as deadbeat dads. She could go to jail for the shit that she's pulled but the state doesn't give a damn. For now, all we can do is document the crap she does. For anything that we worry she could blame on us, we make lots of calls/leave lots of messages, make copies of all documentation and send certified letters containing copies to anyone who we think will be relevant. She crossed the line so badly today that DH has been shaking with anger.

On a far more frivolous/FWP note, the incredibly adorable new sandals I bought at the Cole Haan outlet this weekend are miserably uncomfy. They were great in the store but lousy for my walk to work. They don't cut or cause blisters but they just don't feel good. Blah.

What's getting under your skin today?

Re: What's pissing you off today?

  • I have a neck injury and a concussion so I'm supposed to be at home in bed, but instead I'm at work because I feel like if I'm not at work, shit is going to hit the fan.

H is a manager in fast food, and he's got some sort of flu. He's throwing up and it's pretty nasty. He called his boss and told him he wasn't coming in, to which he was told that if he didn't show he'd be written up.  I can't wait for him to get a new job. I kind of hope he makes a customer sick so that they get a lawsuit and realize it's NOT okay to have vomiting employees on the floor.

Both situations sound horrible! I'm so sorry!

  • All the newbs who keep dredging up old threads. Stop it already!
Oh yeah, that too. I noticed that.
  • I hate my last class.  It's the last week.  I did 6 readings today, just to get them over with.  1 more to go tomorrow, that's optional.  Then 1 final assignment which isn't making any sense to me.  I'm so lost for what to do, so hopefully I can get clarity from my Prof.  Basically, I have to create play scenarios with directions on how parents can participate so their kids can learn.  But I have to be able to tie this into other cultures notions of play and how they learn, which I don't know, cos I'm not from another culture.  Our readings have talked about different cultures seeing play and learning differently, but not in any depth I could use.  Oh, and I teach junior high, not kindergarten so I don't even know how kids play to begin with.

And I've had a torn calf for about 2 months now and it's still not getting better (I've been to chiro, massage, acupuncture, icing/heating, taped up, everything).  It was only a tweak too, not a serious tear.  I really want to go for a run or something

Thanks lady! Hopefully tomorrow we both feel better :)
  • My husband.  I'm ready to set his bed things out on the couch and tell him to sleep there tonight.

  • People inviting randoms to our wedding as their "plus ones" when we didn't give them a plus one to begin with.  We have the room for some extras at this point due to declines, but it's just the fact that people think it's OK to do that is what is irritating me.

  • FI has a week long work conference in LA that he leaves for next Monday. His work still hasn't forwarded him his flight itinerary. When he sent them a message asking for it he got a very terse response that it wasn't an oversight that he hadnt got it yet and that he will get it this week.

I'm like 75% sure that he's going to need to head to the airport while I am at work. Now if I could give my boss some heads up, he's usually super accommodating and would let me take the 40 minutes off work to take FI to the airport, and make up the time. However, at this rate I am not going to be able to give him any notice so FI will probably have to drive himself and leave the car there for a week. Which I hate doing. The only saving grace there is that since FI is a pilot himself he has an employee parking pass and wouldn't have to pay for parking, I just hate leaving a vehicle unattended at an airport for a week.

My jacked up right knee, hip, and abdominal area. Both have been bothering me for weeks. Started seeing the chiro last week (2 more weeks of visits at least) got new running shoes last Friday, and I'm thinking this Friday I may have to get a deep tissue masssage. This is getting expensive!

Oh and the dumbass at work who calls me to double check the updates I make on a recruiting status sheet. He literally reads me what I have written. And this helps how?
  • I apparently pinched my sciatic nerve over the weekend and it's literally a huge pain in my a$$ (and back and leg).  Sitting at work all day has been horrible and I really just want to leave. And I know it's because I've been slacking on my stretching/exercising lately, so it's kind of all my fault. But, I do have an appointment for massage after work, so I'm hoping that helps.  I just wish I didn't have to wait another 2 hours for the appointment.

Last week I drove 2.5 hours (each way) to look at a building and get some pictures for work.  I just realized that half my photos are corrupted.  I'm really hoping we can find a way to get this project done without me having to waste another day driving back to retake the photos.

  • Work: I'm thoroughly irritated that no one was going to tell me that there was an issue with a customer order until I inquired.   We have issues with this account with EVERY ORDER and there's always a reason that we can't improve the process.    When I brought this up to the salesman, he tried to tell me that he knew more about the client (he just got the account) than I did (I've been dealing with them for years).

Home: DH took the day off and hung out with a buddy today.   He emailed me and said that he'd go to the store so I could cook dinner and he'd be home by 6 at the latest.   Well it's now 6:45 and he said he's JUST WALKING INTO THE STORE.  45 minutes isn't a huge deal to two grown ups but it it's a big effing deal to the 11 mo who has no words and flips his shit when he's hungry.    And had DH said that he wasn't going to be able to get into the store until 6:45, I would have just gone myself!   You're not helping me when you're AN HOUR LATE!!

What's pissing me off now is the fact that I ate at a fast food place today. Hoping it wasn't where your H works! lol

This right here makes me scared to eat at restaurants anymore.  My cousin works fast food and had the flu a while back and they made her go into work, too. She'd throw up and get right back to cooking food.  It was disturbing to hear about.  It makes me very scared to know that people are cooking my food while hacking away with the flu.  I think I need to start cooking more food at home.

    *** damn boxes ***

I work for a BH company; not much is likely to change for you. Buffet tends to let companies continue operating as-is.
  • I have three important phone calls to make: happy birthday to my sister (I'm actually a day late...), happy birthday to my best friend, and check-in with DH because he's out of town and we always chat at least once a day. However, I'm feeling really antisocial and I don't want to talk to anyone. I'd rather sit on my couch with a cat in my lap and watch Game of Thrones. Being an introvert is tough sometimes.
  • I got stuck with a biweekly payroll assignment I really, really hate because the client is too demanding and because things with this client keep changing so you never know from week to week what's going on with them. They're always in a hurry for the work while very, very hard to please, and while I was trying to get it done not one, but two, co-workers called me to get "updated" and lecture me on how the client needs it ASAP and it needs to be exactly right. If everyone doesn't fucking back off I can't get it done! They previously went on a payroll service and after they did one payroll decided to go back to my firm, which dumped it on me knowing I was overloaded already.

I am gonna quit in the fall.
  • My fiancé just started his new job yesterday and we have to move within a certain radius of the workplace. I wrote the leasing office the letter and dropped it off today; they called not even 2 minutes after I left and said "involuntary or voluntary transfers for employment are exempt from the terms in the lease for breaking without penalty." Fine, whatever. Then they said that they're going to be showing our apartment while we're still living here - okay, that's stated in the lease. Two hours later they said that I won't be getting the security deposit back because the carpets are not in the same condition as they were when we moved in. When I asked how they would've known, they said they had a person come in and look at the condo for a condition check after they hung up the phone with me. My response: "That's funny; I don't remember having anyone come in and I've been here all day because today's my day off." Ever since that, they've been trying to give me the run around on breaking the lease and demanding more money.

  • My health insurance doesn't cover x-rays at walk-in clinics, so I had to go to an ER to make sure my sprained ankle wasn't a fracture (i.e. workplace hazard since I walk factory floors all day).

Well, I got the bill today.  And now I'm mad that what should have cost a couple hundred dollars cost me $753.00 while being simultaneously mad it didn't cost $30.00 more because then my deductible would be met for my HSA.

Went to my car after work. Found a ticket on it. My annual registration sticker fell off apparently and I got a $20 ticket. Fuckers. I'm going to try to fight it- I have proof of payment from March.
  • My boss wants me to cut my overtime hours while simultaneously covering 2 jobs.
  • My FMIL. Apparently FI's brother's senior prom is going to fall smack dab on our wedding day.  She says that she or FFIL will probably have to stay home instead of coming down for the wedding so that FBIL can go to his prom. No, I'm not shitting you.

Needless to say, FI is pretty crushed, which has made me very, very angry.

You know who doesn't want mom and dad around for prom? A teenage boy!

Right, which is exactly why I think they want to be there. That and she's just been picking at every little thing because FI won't bend to her every whim, so I really think she's trying to find ways to get under his skin and make him feel bad for us having the wedding that we want and can afford.

Look up nerve flossing. It is the #1 way to treat sciatic pain. Should be gone in a week if you do it every day :)

Is this for real? Someone's own dad and brother are going to miss his wedding for a stupid prom?? That is so fucked up.
