Anyone ever do a salt scrub?

I'm 11 days out from my wedding and was thinking about getting a salt/sugar scrub done to lessen up the dead skin/brighten my skin this weekend. I have a small amount of back acne and other random bumps- was hoping it would help. Has anyone done this? ETA is it worth $100? Does it work better than using a loofah and body scrub at home?

Re: Anyone ever do a salt scrub?

  • @hellohkb didn't I see a post about you doing them?
  • I scrub with a cup of regular sugar in the shower once a week to exfoliate.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • $100 isn't terrible- especially if you're going to a spa and getting the nice, relaxing spa experience along with it :)

But like Addie, I just use a scrub (bought from Harmon's, CVS, Walgreens, etc.) once a week in the shower- and the tub of it is like $5.99.

I do think it works in smoothing everything out...  good luck!
  • I would recommend it! They might have different options of treatments as to what the scrub/other products address. If you have any adverse reaction they might be able to address it easier.

Another good option from home is using coconut oil as your base (which is good for your skins hydration, it also protects your skin from the scrub being too abrasive) Once that is applied take regular table sugar and sprinkle that on top of skin that has the coconut oil, rub until just about dissolved, and hop in a warm shower! Once that's over with, using a good moisturizer will be icing on the cake!

    Good luck! :)

  • I would be cautious of doing a treatment that you've never done so close to your wedding. Because what if it ends up irrating your skin more then it clears it up? Or you have an allergic reation and break out worse?
