My mother recommended I look around because they might not charge a site fee. We are looking for 100 people, with really high quality food. We'd like to spend around 60-70 pp, but only 60 if there is a site fee. Boston/Worcester area. I'd trade ambience for a better dinner.

Is that price with alcohol?  If so, then I'd look in dry towns where you can bring your own alcohol.  I'd start by calling up some restaurants to get an idea of how much it would cost to rent it out.  It might be more expensive, though.  Not all hotels charge a site fee and you can always try to negotiate that down.
