What things went wrong with your wedding?

Hi girls, 

The past few nights, I've been having nightmares about things like vendors not showing up, the venue not being set up by the time the reception started, guests being really bored, the WP being late for the ceremony... now I'm really freaked out! Do any of these things happen in real life? What things do you wish you had done differently to make the day smoother? The very last thing I want is to be a stressed-out bridezilla--not now, and definitely not on my wedding day.

Just relax.  If you keep worrying like this, you're not going to be able to enjoy your engagement or wedding.

You can't worry about it, but when/if things go wrong, you just gotta roll with the punches and deal with the problems later. Just have fun regardless!

I started to get like this a little while ago.  I was so worried that no one would have fun, or that I was forgetting something important.  I ended up getting sick of being so worried!  I wrote a a small list of really important things to me ("This has to go right or my life will be ruined").  I only let myself have 4 or 5 things **and they had to be things that I could control to a certain extent.  The other things, I've made small back up plans or I've also considered my wedding without them.

Important - Me having fun and my guests having fun: I've told myself that I will have fun no matter what!  I'll get out and boogie on the dance floor, get my grandfather dancing, laugh and cheer and relax.  My guest will have fun because I'm having fun.
Not Important - The cake - if the vendor doesn't show or someone knocks the cake table over in a fit of rage... I'm still having deserts with dinner and I'll cut a brownie in two if I have to.
Important - Having a meaningful ceremony with my Fi - I'm being very detailed and clear about what I want with the Pastor, making a list, checking it twice, and making sure to have a good rehearsal.
Not Important - Decorations being set up wrong at the tables, favors looking wrong (then what I had wanted) - I just have to accept that on the day of the wedding, it's not in my control and the guests won't notice if it's different then what I wanted.

I guess I'm saying  - finding a few important things that I could control, get down into the nitty-gritty details and review again and again, then letting the rest go and accepting that I've done what I can, it's in other people's hands now.  This has helped me relax and really look forward to my wedding day!  Good luck.

Agreed with the others - don't worry about this.

My nephew got married last Friday evening.  If anything with vendors or flowers, etc went wrong, we had no idea.  The only hitch was when my BIL went to toast the happy couple, raised his glass and found the head table had not been given any drinks yet for the toast.  They all just held up their hands like they had a glass in it, everyone chuckled and moved on.

don't overthink what could go wrong because you will miss a lot of fun and good times with people while you are worrying.

one of my BMs dress ripped on the way to the ceremony and we were supergluing it back together (it stayed the whole night thank goodness, the rip was minor)

also by the end of my photos my bouquet was DESTROYED. the whole time during photos flowers kept falling out of it (it wasnt a cheap bouquet either). they made my bouquet for my bridals, and it lasted 5 days! i asked them to replicate it, and IDK what they did but they did something different. i just walked into the reception without it. NBD.

My always said something will go wrong. Nothing went wrong at the wedding. I did sprain my ankle a week before.
