Wedding Recap and Withdrawal

Our Rule Breaking Wedding

We got married on 12/11/10 on my parent's property. a very small and informal wedding. Even the dogs were brought out for the reception! (Hey, they couldn't stay inside for over 6 hours!)

We broke the "rules", but at the end of the day everyone had a fantastic time. Our planner about flipped when we didn't have a traditional reception, but at the end of the day everything was AWESOME!

The hubby and his parents. His dad was our minister for the wedding.

One of my favorite photos of the cermeony.

Our first dance in the...

...Mario Brothers decorated pole barn! We are both huge gamers!  And that was our second wedding cake. We had a traditional white cake, but we all know which one everyone remembered. Complete with custom cake topper.

Drink fountains featuring our wedding gift from the hubby's sister.

While the wedding planner almost scoffed at our Mario wedding idea, our DJ totaly had fun with it and dressed up as Mario. He was awesome!

Our "head table" with my mom not noticing the camera. We didn't assign seats since there was only about 30 people or so.

We also had New Super Mario Brothers on the Wii and also brought the Xbox 360 Kinect for video game goodness. The Kinect went over very well!

It also acted as a second photographer! In total we have over 60 photos the  Xbox took over the hours the reception lasted.

One of my favorite silly photos.

Since my parent's property is out in the boondocks we have the advantage of having fireworks on the property! The fireworks were EPIC!

My favorite photo of the entire wedding: Us and our child Oran.

We had our cheap backyard wedding, but everyone had a great time.  By excluding all the frilly junk we managed to have a wonderful time without half the headaches and micromanaging. Everything was laid back, relaxed, and fun.
