Looking for Feedback...Registry Sites

Hello brides! I'm in the process of setting up our wedding registry and I'm not sure what route to go... We've been in our house for a few years so we don't really need the typical wedding registry items for the home. We'd like to have a registry for our honeymoon. In addition, I've considered having a brick and mortar registry for items like new bath towels, a knife set, etc for family that might be less comfortable with giving money or using an online website.

LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK...Does anyone have feedback or experience using any of the below registry sites? Give me the good, bad and the ugly.

- MyRegistry - http://www.myregistry.com/

- Zola - https://www.zola.com/promotion/weddingwire1

- HoneyFund  - http://www.honeyfund.com/

- SimpleRegistry - http://www.simpleregistry.com/

- Our Wishing Well - http://www.ourwishingwell.com/

Thanks in advance!

Don't register at all, and people will usually know to give you cash.

This is the advice of most people on this website, and I didn't really understand so clearly why they said this until one of my coworkers had a destination wedding, and a honeyfund.  There was a lot of talk about how rude it was, as people just thought they were trying to get money to pay for their wedding and honeymoon.

Now I completely understand!!  Register for nothing, and people will know to give you cash and checks.

Bonus, you don't have to give a percentage of it away to the website.

Honey funds are incredibly tacky.  They are asking for money, which is rude.  Don't register and people will give you cash.  Plus all of those sites take a cut and from what I know of three out of the five guests find them incredibly confusing, they don't actually link of to the website very well, and you end of getting five of an item.  Or, you deceive your guests, you don't get the gift, and the company takes a cut of the money while Aunt Mary thinks you are enjoying a nice dolphin swim.  Tacky and rude.

There is a sticky literally directly above your post about honeymoon registries. It even has the words "honeymoon registry" in it.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Registering for money is tacky.  People know that money is a good gift and will happily give it without being asked for it from a ridiculous website registry that will most likely take a percentage of their gift as a fee.

Registering for money, even under the guise of a honeymoon, is extremely rude. It's also pretty stupid to give away part of your gifts to a company.

If you can't find any physical items you want to register for, skip the registry. If you do want physical items, I like BB&B, Macy's, or Amazon. If you're looking for some specialty items, give us a hint and we can help you pick the right store. For example, REI has a great registry for outdoor stuff, or you can add some lawn and garden items to Sears.

I agree with PPs. My sister threw me a shower so I had a small registry. There were still some items on the registry after the shower, but all but one gift we received at the wedding was cash or checks. People know that money is a good gift.

Money is the best gift. Everyone know that without you registering for it. Some guests will put $$ in cards and give them to you directly. You don't need a middle man to take a cut from your gifts and hand you the remainder. There are also people who are uncomfortable with giving cash for gifts. For those people, create a registry of items that you'd like to have.

If anyone asks what you'd like for a gift, you may say we've registered at 'MyRegistry' and we are also saving for our honeymoon. Since guests may also ask your parents about gift recommendations, ask them to share the same message.

JIC you don't know, registry info shouldn't be included with your wedding invitations.
