It's a Monday, but it's also the end of August - so is today a neutral? I'm so glad to be through this month and heading to September finally! I think August is my least favorite month because it's usually the hottest and most humid.

So I saw a neat thing on Youtube last night where a girl was crocheting a small square for each day of the year. Each square was a color based on her mood that day and at the end of the year she was going to sew them all together. I thought it was pretty interesting.

What craft project, if any, would you do to represent your moods for a  year? What do you think it would look like based on your overall mood?

What craft project, if any, would you do to represent your moods for a  year? What do you think it would look like based on your overall mood? I'm actually kind of inspired by the Youtube Project I saw. I think it'd be really cool to see what sort of kaleidoscape blanket I could come up with.

What do you do on a Monday to cheer yourself up? Stream Pandora on my clock radio. Usually some sort of Beatles or Golden Oldies station so I can dance around and act ridiculous.

If you're a weirdo who doesn't hate Monday, is there a day you don't like? I don't like Mondays. Sometimes Wednesdays might be worse. Or Thursdays. Basically any day I'm not working from home or a day that isn't Friday.

This weekend was pretty quiet for me. H had to work all day on Saturday so I spent the day having a mommy-puppy day with Cinders. We went for a walk, visited the dog park, got Starbucks, and went to the plant nursery. Then we went home, did yard work, and I dragged Cinders in to the shower with me because she was a stinky mess. I pretty much spent the rest of the day chilling and ended up drunk ordering a pizza after just one glass of wine. It was worth it and I have no regrets.

Sunday was just an easy lazy day for H and I. We slept in, and spent the afternoon watching TV and just taking it easy. I made a short trip to Michael's for some yarn to start on a new crochet project (it's like my once a year itch or something) and it's already starting to look really nice. I should have it done in a couple weeks as long as I put continuous effort in to it.

ETA: Oh YEAH!!! H and I made the decision to buy my grandparents pick up this weekend! It's an F250 Lariat with the toolbox already included. I am SO excited! We won't get it until October when we go to visit them and H and I will have to drive it back from SD to GA but it's going to be SO awesome to not have to try to fit giant things in our tiny cars anymore. We constantly avoid trips to the hardware store or don't do major projects because we don't want to pay delivery fees and don't have a way to haul large materials. I'll also get to bring back my great grandmothers heirloom vanity that I want to do some restoration work to.

TRUCK! She needs a name. I haven't settled on one yet but I might go with Maybellene.

What craft project, if any, would you do to represent your moods for a  year? What do you think it would look like based on your overall mood?  I think I would like to paint (watercolors) a square for each day on a calendar.  I think mine would have quite a few happy colors with crazy blues interspersed at regular intervals.

Monday.  Meh.

I was slapped around by a migraine yesterday.  Looks like it's over though, and I've got the hangover to prove it!

Weekend went by really quickly.  Can't wait for this weekend, especially since next Monday is Labor Day.  

I'm wearing a maxi skirt because I haven't shaved in a few (lots) days.  Thank heavens maxi skirts are in style!

This is my Monday mood:

I'm in a cranky mood this morning. I slept horribly last night, it's like every noise in the house woke me up and I had really scary dreams. 

I have an appointment this morning for my Strep B test and my first internal exam since last week I wasn't close enough to 37 weeks so they rescheduled it for today.

This weekend was nice and I'm so exhausted and I just want to lay around all day.

Thursday I successfully gave Maddux a bath while giving myself one as well...lol not really but I got very soapy because Maddux doesn't sit still. I also finished up some Thank you notes and baked some thank you cookies for all of the nurses and doctors that will assist in our delivery at the hospital. 

Friday I cleaned the house and ran a few errands. I got coffee with @labro and had dinner with my parents that night.

Saturday our CrossFit box threw us a diaper shower and we had dinner with DH's stepmom, dad, and brother.

Sunday I sat on my butt and decorated for Fall. One of my sorority sister's came over and we ate pizza and watched Bachelor in Paradise.

Today besides my appointment I bought concert tickets to see Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts in November! WOO HOO! I can't wait. We haven't been to a concert in forever. Tonight I will probably get a workout in and then GO TO BED EARLY!

I used to scrapbook a lot.  So I would probably make a page for each day, and include a photo to capture the mood. I am going to have to think about this more because I do like this idea.

I pretty much unpacked and cleaned all weekend except for Saturday night.  I met up with a bunch of girlfriends at this really awesome Mexican restaurant.  They serve sangria by the carafe (per person).  And I finally got my burrito fix.  It was everything I've been craving and more.

Overall it was a fun weekend! Friday was girl's night and we had the best meal ever. Steak with cheesy potatoes, green beans (more out of guilt than actual WANT), and creme brulee for dessert. Plus lots of cocktails!
Saturday we headed to Austin to celebrate DH friend's birthday. We stayed out until 3AM which was NOT expected. But we went to some pretty cool bars. One of them was a huge shipping container that was sectioned off so there were areas for dancing, hanging out, etc. It was really cool!
Sunday we had a delicious brunch with mimosas before heading back home. Then we sat around and did nothing for the rest of the night b/c DH and I were so exhausted from the weekend.
After this weekend I have NO interest in drinking anytime soon! Lol

Any day coming back to work after a holiday. Those are actually much harder for me than the typical Monday.

@labro - I love the truck! DH has a truck and it's so nice to have. Although he prefers to drive my car around on the weekends b/c "it's easier to park".

@beachyone15 Mmmmm margaritas. I wish drinking at work was allowed because I'd love a marg around noon. Yeah, I totally get the pain in the ass aspect of parking a truck. We're still keeping both our cars, the truck will 100% be dedicated to hardware store trips and camping. It's a diesel so it really isn't meant to be driven around as a daily commute type of car.

I don't like saying goodbye to August... it's my birthday month and it's already over!! Boo.

@labro - Now THAT is a truck! Her name should definitely be Lara, or Labro, or Laura. (I love alliteration, so just imagine 'Lara the Lariat') (Also, that wreath sweater is awesolarious... a mixture of awesome and hilarious).

This weekend was fun. We hung out with my MIL until she left Saturday afternoon, then did some day drinking (see saddest 'KUI/AMA' thread for proof). Yesterday, I went to yoga and then DH and I went and rented tubes and floated on the Shenendoah River. It was nice and relaxing and I loved having the time with just DH and I to relax and connect. We picked up some pizza on the way home, I did laundry, and then we relaxed the rest of the night.

What craft project, if any, would you do to represent your moods for a  year? What do you think it would look like based on your overall mood?

It wouldn't really be based on my mood, but I would like to take a picture in the same place at the same time every day of one year. I would love to see the changes in the seasons and the landscape.

It's not really a craft, but I'd probably choose photography. It would likely be a mash up of super dark and moody pictures mixed with cutesy things like animals and sunshine.

I wish I could cheer myself up on a Monday! I hate Mondays, especially when the weekend flies by. I usually just avoid talking to people until after lunch on Monday when my mood has come back up to a respectable level.

Every single day that's not Friday. I even get mad on the weekends because they're just so short and there's not enough time for all the crap I try to pack in it!

I spent all of Friday night and all day Saturday/Saturday night editing a few photo sessions. H's BFF came over with his girlfriend on Saturday to hang out, and I moved the computer into the living room so I could spend some time with them. 

Sunday we were volunteering at church so we were gone most of the morning. We came home and binge watched Friends on Netflix (we're on Season 9 already!) and worked on some company brainstorming. 

I'm just so sad the weekend is over!

ETF - Apparently Mondays are so sucky they stop me from completing my thoughts, so I fixed them.

Hey! My weekend was amazing and exhausting. We closed on the house Friday at 9am and we immediately moved our bed so we could spend the night there. So the rest of the house was empty and there was nothing to do so I'm like "play our song!" and we danced to our wedding song in the living room. It was so sweet and romantic and I think I want to do that every year on our "housiversary". Anyways, the rest of the weekend was moving, which is so tiring, I am drained. Most of it is piled in the garage for now. It's on a pond and the view from my bedroom is just so calming to watch the ripples in the water! Here's a few pics...

I am not crafty so I wouldn't do a mood thingy, but I think it would be 90% happy because life is pretty awesome right now. I actually don't mind Monday that much because I screw off at work all day, Tuesdays suck when I have to actually buckle down and get my work started.

@labro That truck is awesome, my H would love it! Having a truck for home projects really is amazing.

What craft project, if any, would you do to represent your moods for a year? Uhm ... idk. I'm not that crafty although I've recently gotten into those "adult colouring books" - they're meant for people with anxiety issues. I forgot how amazing just sitting there and colouring little details were!

My other option would probably be makeup related.

What do you do on a Monday to cheer yourself up? Sometimes I'll make something really delish or give myself an extra snack to look forward to. This morning I opted to buy breakfast because I was starving!

So this weekend was pretty lax. Friday I met up with my friend A before the jewelry thing. It was interesting. Cute ideas but nothing really grabbed me enough to buy myself. I had more fun building diff ideas for my friend lol

I kept saying Friday night how exhausted I was and that I planned on sleeping in.

Angel woke me up at 8:30am for breakfast, so I assumed I wasn't going to fall back asleep. Up, fed cats, water, bathroom, lay back down. Usually I just lay there for 10mins and give up. Apparently this was not the case. Next time I looked at the clock it was 11:15am lol

Cleaning and stuff done. A few thank-you notes done. Got some donation stuff out of our place, which cleared up a larger space than anticipated lol

BBQ at my aunt's place was good. They were saying the butcher messed up on pricing the kabobs so they got the beef ones for 5cents. {reference; not sure if it's every where, but beef prices are getting quite high in Canada}

Sunday was more cleaning. We got the former bed frame boards out and more drawers under the bed set up. 2 more and we're done!

Had a friend over last night for CFL

My goal for this week is to get the mattress out, figure out why the handle on our filing cabinet is crooked and if we can fix it, finish drawers, get shadow boxes.

And my birthday is in 1 week

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Friday night BF got out of work at a decent time so we went out to dinner and ran to the grocery store to prepare for Saturday. 

Saturday was Countryfest. We left the house about 9am and got to Gillette Stadium around 10. By 11 we were in line for Toby Keith's bar to have some drinks before tailgating at 1. We tailgated until about 5ish then headed in. We missed Old Dominion, but caught the end of Cole Swindell. Then it was time for Brantley Gilbert, Jason Aldean and then finally Kenny Chesney. It was a great concert as always! We had a blast. We didn't get home until about 2am.

Sunday we slept late then went to get Tess from my parents house. Then we came home, I napped and did laundry. We were all tired and lazy yesterday. Also for those of you who read about the "Flash Mob" on Friday, turns out my mom and aunt had the balls to stand up to the other aunt and it has been cancelled. THANK GOD! So that little disaster is averted.

This morning we had the welcome back breakfast. All the teachers and staff go to our Middle High School and have breakfast. They announce all the new staff and any changes. It was a nice little slow start into the new school year that starts for kids tomorrow!

@LaBro Nice truck! We want one for the same reasons, but will be waiting about another month so I can pay off my car.

@caseface5 Yeah I'm actually surprised we got so lucky. We've wanted a truck for a long time but we really didn't want a car payment and newer trucks are SO expensive! This one is a '99 but it was purchased new by my grandparents so we know exactly how it's been driven, what kind of care it has, everything, and it's only got 175k miles on it too so it's got many many years of life left in it based on how we plan to use it. Fingers crossed you find something right for you soon!

It's Monday, but at least August is over as of today.  August was such a shitty month overall.  I'm not back at work yet, the plan is to go back after labor day.H is back at work today so I am alone.  I am having my mom come by so we can go to lunch.  H also has hockey tonight.  Physically I'm fine, otherwise I'm hanging in there.  Saturday we went to a BBQ at the IL's, it was nice being out but it was a bit hard seeing people.  Sunday we ran a few errands and went to shop sleep number beds. H really wants one, so we may splurge on a king sized sleep #.  

Otherwise I'm back to studying, but I need some fun things too, to help the time go by.  We have an appointment with our RE on 10/8.

What craft project, if any, would you do to represent your moods for a  year? What do you think it would look like based on your overall mood?

I like the idea of a blanket or scarf or something. However, I think a cooler idea would be to take a spin on an advent calendar and do one daily or for each Monday or something to help with my mood overall. Last December I had a tea advent calendar, and I genuinely looked forward to each and every morning so I could try that day's tea. A Monday Advent Calendar would make Mondays much more tolerable.

Nothing in particular. @audrewuh and I normally hang out on Monday nights, but Monday mornings are still a pain in the ass.

If you're a weirdo who doesn't hate Monday, is there a day you don't like? Nope, Mondays are my arch-nemesis. Always and forever.

This weekend was amazing. AMAZING! My bachelorette party was Saturday, and it was absolutely perfect. My MOH and BMs rented a really nice suite at a fancy resort nearby, and they decorated it with a lot of fun bachelorette-themed stuff. My MOH's bf even made me a penis cake! We ate brunch at a great local place, and then we walked up and down that street and explored some wine tasting rooms, boutiques, and even a flavored olive oil store (which was NOT good). We went back to the hotel, grabbed dinner, found Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion (so random), and then napped until 8. At 8 we got ready, and by 9 we were on our way to the hotel's club where we danced the night away. I danced so much I ripped my dress! Luckily it was at the end of the night, but ugh! I was planning on wearing that to my rehearsal, so hopefully I can fix it... 

But seriously, Saturday was perfect. We all had so much fun, there was no drama, and no one threw up. Perfect!

Despite no one throwing up, my stomach is seriously mad at me. It feels like food poisoning, even though I know it's just the alcohol. Starting around 8am yesterday, I haven't been able to stop running to the bathroom. Today my stomach just feels really full and gross, and I still have no appetite.

Other than that, it was a perfect weekend! I have like 5 pictures from the entire day since I purposely didn't take my phone out with us, so hopefully @audrewuh will update with a few. 

ETA: I forgot to mention that Friday night I saw on FB there had been a big fire at the bulk mail sorting center nearby. I know it's an irrational fear, but after just mailing my invitations Friday afternoon, I'm slightly terrified my invitations were burned up. I mean, obviously the invitations aren't considered bulk mail, but oh my god, how awful would that be?

I kind of did something like this once - I stashbusted using all my leftover Lion Brand Homespun yarn and crocheted a huge granny square winter survival blanket for the car, going from inside to outside based on how much of each color I had. It was hideous.

What do you do on a Monday to cheer yourself up? Thus far I don't require cheering up. If the guy whose paper I was reviewing last week shows up, that might change. I do require slight caffeination, however.

So Friday night was gaming for H and his friends, where I watched them act like little kids and not include a new player. In front of her, they were telling her that they really didn't want anyone else, and I know that it's hard to add someone to tabletop gaming, but at the same time ... dudes. Grow up. Figure this out. So now there's a perception - public - that the club is noninclusive, which actually isn't something they've experienced in the last 6 years. Blech.

tl;dr - This Friday evening club meeting is probably gonna suck because H and his friends failed to act like grown-ups last Friday.

Saturday we pretty much didn't get off the couch. It was glorious. We went out to BWW and watched the Vikings game and the end of the afternoon college football team, where the home state team LOST and it was beautiful because they have been such obnoxious pricks for years about how great their team is and how they're immune to adversity and graduation and and and.

Sunday we tried to hang the mirror on the door but couldn't find the right drill bit. I don't understand why H put the tools away the way he did, but the upshot is we can't find a hammer and the 5/8" drill bit is missing. Argh. We did Pledge all the dining room chairs and put out the new chair cushions.

@labro Is the truck a diesel? I'm guessing so. I argued with my H for years about getting a truck because like you said they are just so expensive. Finally 8 months ago I gave in and let him buy a 1 year old Silverado. And he came to me last week saying he's going to trade it in. He said that I was right, the payments are just too much and unnecessary, and I need a new car since my commute is way longer than his, and he was being selfish, and all this stuff. So I'm actually pretty pumped that we're going to go trade it in. As nice as the truck is, it's just not the right time for those payments. I told him he can buy an older one like your grandparent's for under $10k just to have on the side of our normal vehicles.

@labro I try to avoid throwing up at all costs. It usually makes my hangovers worse. Oddly enough, I never really felt drunk Saturday, and I never had a headache or any other hangover signs. Just a really messed up stomach.

@jenna8984 Yep it's a diesel! Which is why I'm so unconcerned with age/mileage, especially since we know its history. It'll be a third car for us and not a daily driver too so I think we'll get many many years of use out of it before it needs any major work. Plus we have a great diesel mechanic nearby and that's all he works on. I definitely get wanting a newer truck. I'd like love to have one of the new F150s because they have the eco-boost and get some pretty awesome gas mileage (for a truck) but I just can't justify all that money!

@Peaseblossom55 - Glad you have some extra time off. I know we were all thinking about you over the weekend.

@eilis1228 - All that drinking I did this weekend did the exact same thing to me. No hangover, but my stomach was NOT happy. If you ever get a chance to go to that bar, it is really cool. I could see how you could end up getting lost though!
