Hello! I am getting married in 2.5 weeks. I am Catholic and my fiance is Muslim. We had planned to have an interfaith wedding ceremony - to be held in my church but with participation from both a Catholic priest and a Muslim Imam. Unfortunately, the Imam notified us yesterday that he will be unable to participate in our wedding as he and the priest were not able to agree on the ceremony. Has anyone else done this before? Do you have suggestions on how the ceremony should be structured? Any idea how I could start looking for an Imam who might be willing to participate in an interfaith wedding? (We are in the mid-Atlantic East coast area.) Does anyone have a specific individual they know of who could help us? I am desperate - any advice would be much appreciated.
