Happy Friday, y'all! I feel like shit today and think I have a fever, but it's Friday so I don't even care.

DH and I are making buffalo chicken pizza tonight for supper and just going to relax and watch movies.

Tomorrow is the opening day of dove season so we're going hunting with a big group of friends and grilling out that night.

Sunday and Monday are cleaning days (I'm off Monday for Labor Day) but also just to catch up on sleep and do nothing. I'm honestly looking forward to it.

What do you have going on this long (if you get the extar day) weekend?

Re: Finally Friday!

  • Yes!  I've been so "off" this week.  Wednesday felt like Tuesday (not bad), but yesterday felt like Friday (sigh).

We get out at 2:30 today and I made an executive decision to leave at 2pm since there's a modified train schedule for the holiday and unless I want to be stuck in the city until like 3:45 or so, I have to catch the 2:24.

Fiance has to work Saturday and Sunday, but is off Monday.  I'll do a deep clean on Sunday, lots of errands Saturday and I hope the rain doesn't come Monday so we can go to his parents and grill!

I'm also going to make sweet cheese pierogis with strawberries and whipped cream for dessert I think.  Looking forward to that since I'm going to try to cut out sweets after that until the wedding next month- I haven't been crazy on the sugar, but I figure I'll enjoy my cake even more if I haven't had anything really sweet leading up to it.  Although I have a wedding the 26th and may have to sample the cake there...
  • Working tonight, Saturday and Sunday.  My summer job is coming to an end. I think I have only a few more weekends left.

Sunday is our anniversary.   We might go see Lenny Kravitz.  But just now one of DH's friends asked us over for dinner.  It's been hard to catch up with them, so we might go.   I'm not sure yet.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Happy Friday! I’m feeling a little blah today, probably because we had our fantasy football draft last night, which involved a good deal of beer. I also had to go in for a saline infusion sonogram yesterday afternoon, which involves pumping saline solution into your uterus so they can see the landscape and count follicles. I was anticipating it being highly uncomfortable, but it was really not bad at all.

Tonight H and I are driving up to H’s family’s house in northern WA for the weekend. Apparently the salmon fishing is killer right now, so we’re hoping to bring back enough fish to fill our freezer. I’m taking Tuesday off, so it’s a four day weekend for me!

  • As mentioned in my other thread, I'm sick.  But I still am planning on finishing up my escort cards and table numbers this weekend (BTW had no luck on finding white vinyl numbers anywhere, plenty of glitter and pink and every color but white, so handwriting it is).

Our older dog Deacon also has a vet appointment tomorrow.  He had this bump on his neck that the vet (different one) looked at in December when he had surgery and said it's just an "old man" bump and it wasn't an issue.  Well, it's become an issue, he's been scratching at it and it's gotten irritated and has bled a bit, so off we go to see what the options are.  He's also due for his rabies vaccine too.

My mom arrives on Sunday afternoon so after she gets here it'll be all wedding, all week long.  I work Tuesday and Wednesday though.

  • I'm in nursing school and had a major exam yesterday, which I bombed completely! Ugh! Upside, We are taking the kids camping this weekend and will definitely be drowning my sorrows with adult beverages and not thinking about school until Tuesday!
