Flowers

If I only want a bouquet for me (fresh flowers), something fairly simple, how much should I expect to pay? I'm wondering if getting a silk flower bouquet is more cost effective for when we elope in December.

Re: Flowers

  • It depends on what you're planning on your elopement. Is it courthouse or chapel or in-suite?

  • Just at the Office of Civil Marriages. We're doing a photo strip tour with B&W for 4 hours, which is why I want flowers. I'm just trying to figure out the most cost effective route.
  • It's NYC money for real flowers, unfortunately. According to my DOC, $150-300 for one bouquet and one boutonniere is standard.

Gaia Flowers has some stock designs for $75-100.
  • We bought beautiful real touch calla lilies on Ebay and they were perfect!

  • I would maybe contact Pam from The Palette, she is doing all of our flowers for the reception and I have found her prices to be more than reasonable.  Plus, she has been amazing to work with as well :).

I emailed Pam yesterday. As much as I think it would be nice to have a silk arrangement that I can keep, I don't want to have to travel with any extra stuff if I don't have to. I found a few nice ones on Etsy for ~$50, so we'll see.
