Engagement Picture Locations

Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are planning on getting our engagement pictures done next month and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? We live in the Monroeville area but are willing to travel a little, we love being outdoors and anything scenic! Any suggestions would be great!

Re: Engagement Picture Locations

  • Hartwood Arces is really nice, it's where we got ours done but it's quite a hike from Monroeville. You may also want to check out the West End Overlook, I've seen beautiful wedding pictures from that location.
  • I had pictures taken in the Allegheny Commons last November and they turned out absolutely beautiful. It was chilly out, but the trees were still full of colorful leaves (red, yellow, and even a few still had some green!). The only downside is that the water from the fountains/ponds was drained, but the photographer was able to make sure that wasn't noticeable from the angles she took photos.

Here is their website if you aren't familiar with the area:

  • Agree on Hartwood Acres, there is mansion there that makes a great backdrop.  We did ours outside at Keystone State Park, Twin Lakes Park, and Hannastown which were also great outdoor locations

  • Mt. Washington has great city views and you can do photos on the Inclines.
Depending on the time of day and traffic, photos on the Bridges, e.g. the 6th street bridge with downtown as the backdrop are great especially at night.
