Stormy Monday

Good morning everyone! 

I am so excited because I have a 1-day work week!!!!! Today is both my Monday and Friday. 

Okay, sorry to brag . It will be a busy day, including presenting in a meeting this morning that I am not prepared for. My manager volunteered me to present knowing full well I didn't have all of the data yet. I'm not looking forward to that. But I just need to get through it and then I can spend the rest of the day preparing said data before I leave for NY! 

FI and I fly out around noon tomorrow. And we are flying first class, because it was cheap (I think $150 more per person round trip than economy) and we wanted the free bags and priority security. With the bags we are checking, the difference is more like $100 a person for better seats and priority everything, so we went for it. I am so excited, because I absolutely love flying, and it is that much better with a more comfortable seat and free wine. I'm looking forward to just sitting on a plane all day drinking wine and reading wedding magazines and a book. 

We have a busy week of vendor appointments scheduled, and in between we have family engagements as well, but everyone is so excited to see us. We did officially change our RSVP to a no (FI sent a very polite message) and the groom got very defensive in his response instead of acknowledging that we were offended, and then both the bride and groom immediately unfriended us and FBIL on Facebook. FBIL wasn't even involved and texted us saying that he was confused why he was no longer friends with them. Real mature there on the bride and groom's part. 

But our families understood when we explained the situation, and are very excited to spend more time with us. Right now it looks like we will be making wine with FFIL and then going to the Irish Festival later that day. That sounds much more fun to us anyways! 

I have to get ready for work and head into the office, but I will come back this afternoon when I need to take a break from data processing and respond to everyone and answer the questions!

@AuroraRose41 I think you're the only person I've ever heard say they enjoy flying lol. I don't mind it I just get restless sitting in a cramped seat, usually next to a stranger. I've never flown first class.

@lavenderfields13 It was tough. One of my best friends is an introvert but we've been friends for so long that well, I guess I've forgotten. Although the story of how we met and became friends is totally probably not comfortable for an introvert. I ended up in the wrong gym class and overheard her and another girl talking about a TV show I liked so I approached them and said hi and that I liked that show too and we pretty much became friends after that! However, it's difficult to put myself in the position of how hard that must have been to her to have such a rando come up and be all "Hi! Let's be friends!". I actually met another one of my best friends in college the same way, hahah, apparently this is a trend and it just didn't work this time with this girl. I think with her it must have been her introversion (which is NOT wrong, sooo many of my best friends are introverts and ambi-verts) and maybe just a disconnect in our personalities. I think it just bugs me when I can't find a way to click with a person since normally that isn't an issue for me.

@AuroraRose41 Do you always get priority security with first class???? I just bought first class tickets for H and I for our flight to South Dakota next month (And I'm still lol'ing over our first class flight to such a random place) and I've never flown it before! I'd LOVE priority security!!! This will probably be my one and only first class trip ever. It was only $70 more a ticket and it meant that H and I could sit together rather than separately and in the middle seat to boot!

@aurorarose41 have a safe trip and enjoy first class!  I've never flown first class, my cousin does and I'm always jealous of his pictures.   I'm also too cheap to pay more on flights, so I'll probably always be in economy. But that's also why I love southwest, free bags and free booze makes me happy.

I can't Monday today.

Saturday we did our painting class, went out for beers after, and then I passed out in the middle of watching Chappie.

Yesterday was BF's day to spoil me for my birthday. He had me open a present early, because it was a waffle maker. We made waffles for breakfast with tons of fruit. Then he wanted to take me shopping and buy me a new dress, but I didn't find anything I liked. Then he made me an awesome steak dinner, and we watched The Imitation Game.

Today I am getting off work early, my sister is coming down to visit with her two daughters (2 and 4 years old) and we're going to Chuck E Cheese because their local one closed before my niece go to go for her birthday. It should be fun! But I am exhausted.

@alpacina I'm not a crier so no tears here.  The only time I cry at weddings is if the groom is really emotional. On my sister's wedding video they caught me telling my mom to suck it up when she was bawling during the ceremony. Haha so this time my sister told my mom to suck it up.  We love each other, I swear.

@speakeasy14 - I was a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding, and we were all doing so well and not crying until we looked over and my chubby 12 year old nephew was bawling like crazy, and all of a sudden everyone in the wedding party was crying, and then I'm pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house, haha!

@AlPacina - Happy Birthday!!!!!  Love the dress from your Stitch Fix post.  And...of course, I will AW all my vacation plans.  We've actually been to Istanbul before, but it was with a huge group of people, so I'm looking forward to it being just us.

Forgot to update about my dress! It fit perfectly! *sigh of relief* Now it's chilling in my office with me. It's bigger than me... I look hilarious trying to carry it. My boss REALLY wanted me to put it on for her lol. I told her I'd basically have to get naked in my office, and she was like, "I don't care! I'll stand guard!" LOL I told her I'd have my mom take plenty of pics tomorrow instead.

@lavenderfields13 I'm a nerd who LOVES planes, so I really like flying. I sometimes get bothered with the cramped seats as well (we don't always fly First Class...it really depends on the price), but for the most part I love it. I'm one of those crazy people who enjoys turbulence because it throws some excitement into the flight and it is fun for me! 

Also that gif cracked me up! Yup, bye felicia indeed. 

@labro, the answer is sometimes. It depends on the airports you will be in. If the airport offers it, then you get it with your ticket (the tickets say you will get it as long as it is available). It isn't TSA Precheck though; it's just a way to go to the front of the regular security line. For instance, San Diego has the priority security line, but Albany doesn't. So on our way there tomorrow, we get to go to the front of the line, but on our way back, we have to wait in the same line as everyone else. 

@speakeasy14 thanks! We only go for it if it's a very small difference. For our Thanksgiving flight that I just booked, it was a $2k difference per person, so we weren't willing to pay that and booked economy. But then Christmas was also only $150 more per person, and since we are flying on the 23rd (and the airports will probably be packed!) and checking more bags because of gifts we went for that as well.

@AuroraRose41 Hmmm, I don't think Atlanta has a priority security line that I'm aware of. I guess we'll find out at the airport...but luckily security usually only takes us 10 or 15 minutes anyway!

@labro, I just did a quick search, and it looks like they do, but not at all of the security checkpoints. Sometimes the main check point is faster anyways according to what I am reading. It wouldn't hurt to ask the ticket agent when you check in or an employee before you go through security (if you aren't checking bags).
