mexico in september

Have any of you gone to Mexico in September? If so, how was the weather. I am being advised against it because of hurricane season. Just looking to hear about others experiences with it. thanks!

Yes, but I went to Merida, which is about a 4 hour drive from Cancun and not located on the coast. It rained in the evening for about 20 minutes every day, but no hurricanes in the area while I was there. 

Hurricanes are hard to predict. I'm going to St. Lucia in a couple of weeks to inspect hotels for honeymoons and weddings and hoping for no activity! 

Not sure if I would plan a September wedding in the Riviera Maya if that's what you're asking. Can you move your dates to early November? Still hurricane season but probably not as risky.

I wouldn't worry about it. I went to Jamaica last Sept for my honeymoon and it rained once on the last night. I went on a caribbean cruise this Sept and it rained for 30 minutes one morning. Chances are it will be fine!

We went to Cancun in September a couple years ago and had no rain at all. Were supposed to go to Cabo last year end of October and a hurricane came just before and everywhere was closed and we had to reschedule. Personally I would have no qualms about going to either place in the fall again even though I know a hurricane hit Cabo....I'd just get trip insurance next time hehe

This is what trip insurance is for!  Don't even think about skipping trip insurance.
