First World Problems?

I feel like it's been a while.

My FWP is that I'm doing too many fun things and I won't have time to grocery shop or clean or be a good wife. And I got Hawks tickets last minute and I won't have time today to put my face on or re-wash my hair before I go tonight.

Re: First World Problems?

  • Tax season.
  • I am having a very bad hair day and I am miserable because of it.  All I want to do is go home, wash my hair and watch The Walking Dead marathon.

  • It's going to be warm-ish today.   But I work from home and the room that I use for my home office is on the cold side in the morning.   And I just had an iced coffee.   So now I need to eat something hot so I can avoid using the heat for another few days.
  • The city I live in dropped off these amazing, huge, recycling trash cans this morning!  FI is going to be so excited.

We kept the recycling basket outside of the kitchen door into the garage, but down like 2 steps.  This thing is sooo big it doesn't there so I just had to rearrange the garage to make the thing fit!  We really need to clean our garage!

  • I have 5 baskets full of laundry to put away when I get off work. I am not excited about it.

  • My Stitch Fix box isn't coming until Saturday - I peeked and want the jacket I'm getting NOW.

  • I got my new couch delivered yesterday and it is so comfy all I did last night was sit on it and watch movies. Now I have to work from home and all I want to do is sit on the couch!

  • the free "healthy" food at work is making me fat. I have no self-control and find my way to the snacks we have way more than the healthy stuff. I'd be much  better off if we had nothing.
  • My office is freezing and I'm out of my favorite tea. It means I'm stuck with water or the free tea or beer available in our office.

Also, the cobbler couldn't get the stains out of my purse as well as I had hoped.

  • I suddenly have WAY too much work to do (so, of course I'm on TK instead of working, right?).  Everything just came all at once and everyone needs everything NOW.  I want to rip my hair out. But, the last 6 months or so have been slower or I've had bigger projects that don't pay quickly, so cash is getting tight and I really need the influx of work.

And I work in an industry that is very susceptible to economic ups & downs.  I've been through slow times and a few years ago went through a time where both DH and I were laid off from work for 6 months at the same time. So, I know how absolutely lucky I am to have an abundance of work... or even ANY work.  But, I kind of wish my work would come in a steady flow, instead of very little for months, then burying me for months. It's not uncommon for me to have 6 months of working 5-6 hours days and taking it easy, then have 6 months of working 12 days, 7 days a week.

    Work drinking?!  Count me in!
I was wondering about this too!! Everyone would be so much happier if every office served beer!

This is pretty much mine!  Last week I couldn't clean because I had a haircut Tuesday night, dinner w/ some girlfriends Wednesday night, and then had to pick up H at the airport Thursday night (OK that's not that fun but still), and then Friday we left for a weekend trip to Vegas.  Monday night I was exhausted cause we got back really late from Vegas, and last night we had to go to an HOA meeting (not fun) that was followed by dinner with the neighbors (fun).  Tonight we will be home, and tomorrow we have the Avalanche season opener... and then another game on Saturday night.  So yeah... soooo busy no time to clean.  Haha!

  • FI and I are moving this weekend and I'm really bummed that our current cable provider isn't available where we're moving to. I'm even more bummed that we now have to wait until the new cable company fixes the line for us; the neighbor left a note on the door saying that their dog got out and chewed through the cable line. They're paying for it and told us it would get fixed in the next week or so.

I am still working on the itinerary but I want to go to the Art museum and American History museum. I would also like to see a few monuments and the botanical garden. We are there for only three days, so I am not sure how much we will be able to see. Is there anything you recoomend?

Well with the lack of wifi you won't accidentally stumble upon any spoilers before you get back and can watch it.

  • I am stressed from planning a large, unnecessary party and wish it was here so I could just enjoy it already. :P

It's pretty sweet. Our office keeps 2 types of beer on tap at any given time. It's usually pretty good stuff too. Sadly, I'm not a big drinker or a huge fan of beer.

I guess it depends on what you're interested in.  FI is a History Teacher, I was a Poli Sci major.

Loved the American History Museum.  The Star Spangled Banner exhibit is amazing, I can't do it justice.  And tour the monuments at night!  It's less crowded and they're even more magnificent when they're backlit.  The FDR monument is made with some time of stone that glitters and it's just really something.  Also, if you're interested in a capital tour, set it up with your congressman and meet in his office, it's way better than the tour where you meet at the capital.

Also, if you have a passion about something, you can call the Smithsonian and ask for an archive tour.  A cousin of mine worked for the Natural History Museum so we got to go behind the scenes and see what she was working on and she's the one who gave us that tip.
