Outdoor ceremony only locations near Royal Oak

Ladies I booked a non-traditional reception venue that doesn't have a ceremony location.  We want an outdoor ceremony, but I'm having problems finding a location that will permit ceremony only, especially on a budget.  Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Shriners was $800 plus they require you to have at least 1 hour of cocktail reception afterwards, so I'm still looking for ideas.  Thanks in advance ladies...

Hey!  I had that same issue, because I had originally wanted the Royal Oak Farmer's Market (because its so cheap!) but could not find an outdoor ceremony spot nearby that was also big enough.  A few options to consider: the Community House in Birmingham only charges $1,000 for ceremony in their tent if its available (no cocktail hour required).  There is also a lovely park across the street from the Community House that might work.  I also considered Belle Isle Conservatory in Detroit (30 minutes away!) but the times didn't work.  I would also look at the Burgh Historical Park in Southfield, 15 minutes away. I think they charge $600 for rental for a ceremony  I was so frustrated about this part of the wedding planning that I at one point drove all over Royal Oak looking for a suitable park and found nothing! I eventually settled on the Burgh Park as our wedding venue instead of the Royal Oak Farmers Market for the exact problem you are complaining of! Although I did love the Farmers Market.

What's your budget and non-traditional reception location?  The more information you provide, the better ideas we can provide:)

I believe you can get a permit for any of the parks including the park across the street but first you want to make sure you have a back up plan for weather.

Shriners in Southfield has an outdoor ceremony space, as does Planterra, and the Detroit Zoo.

Good point - sorry about the lack of detail!  Our reception location is at Emagine bowling alley.  The budget is miniscule.  We are trying to stay as close to $5,000 as possible, which unfortunately takes Planterra and the Zoo out of the running, but I'll check out Shriners. Thank you for the ideas!

Also, there is a great park in Beverly Hills on Beverly Drive (I think), about 13 1/2 mile Rd, just west of Southfield Rd.
