Negative Reviews! AHHH

Hi girls,So it seems like I have read or heard of negative reviews for almost every dress place possible: David's, Bridal Reflections, Beautiful Bride, and Lillettes! I am getting the feeling that everyone has a different experience and that shines through the reviews...What do you girls think?I am getting so nervus.. I am going with my bridesmaids on saturday to look at dresses i picked out from bridal reflections.. they have been wonderful so far - they even offered and had a girl try on the sample sizes for me to look at...- Cath

I honestly wouldn't listen to reviews from other people (it's like movie reviews - some people absolutely hated a movie that I gave 5 stars).I had heard awful things about this bridal boutique in Larchmont, NY and when I went there to try on some dresses they were very nice, helpful, devoted their attention entirely to me for my hour appt., and let me try on as many dresses as I wanted without giving me a problem.Good luck!BTW, which Bridal Reflections location are you going to?

I absolutely agree that everyone has their own experiences... however, I'm also inclined to believe that when an OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of reviews are negative, the odds are a bit stacked against you.I had a TERRIBLE experience at Bridal Reflections, but I would highly reccommend Bridal Suite of Bay Shore and Village Bridal in Islip (E. Islip? Off Montauk Hwy just before Deer Park Ave).

I have been to Village Bridal when my FSIL was shopping for her wedding dress.  They were very nice and accomdating there and FSIL plans on purchasing her dress from there.  Definitely check them out!

First of all, David's Bridal is a chain so it really depends on which location you go to. Some of them are bad, some are good. I know Bridal Reflections has a bad rep, but I thought that was more along the lines of alterations, pricing, and meeting deadlines. That's what I've heard at least. I'd find out a little more before ordering a dress from there but I'd definitely go try on dresses there. I was planning on it actually. lol. Also it depends on who helps you. I went to RK Bridal with my cousin for her wedding gown and everyone was so nice and everything went smoothly. I even ordered my BM dress from them! But I went to try on dresses and they were AWFUL.Never heard anything about Beautiful Bride or Lilettes though. And hi I'm FSIL! LOL. I highly recommend Village Bridal. They were the first place I went to and boy am I spoiled. LOL. No other place compares.

Hi - I ordered my wedding dress & and am going to be ordering my bridesmaid's dresses at Lillette's.  So far I have had a wonderful experience with them.  They are very nice and helpful.  They are also patient while I ask a million questions about the dresses.  I would highly reccomend them. Good luck! -Erin

I just found my dress at Helen's in Commack. They're part of Wedding World. Lilette's has the same dress and they COMPLETELY IGNORED me today when I went in to try the dress, whereas at Helen's I was the only bride serviced. Just my two cents.

I ordered my dress at Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook. I had an AMAZING experience with them after a long day where I had very negative experiences at David's Bridal in Garden City and Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. They were very accommodating and super helpful despite the fact that I can't imagine I was giving off the happiest of vibes after such a long day. I like that they cap how much they charge you for alterations and give 15% discounts to your bridesmaids if they order their dresses there (they also extended the 15% off to my mom who ordered her dress there as well).

I agree, everyone has different experiences. I had a horrible experience with Lillette's when I was MOH in my sisters wedding. They forgot to sew the inside of my dress closed after altering it! I didn't realize until 2 days before the wedding, but luckily they were able to fix it in time. But I also know poeple who have had good experiences there, so I guess it all depends. Go to a few different places and go with whichever place makes you feel the most comfortable. Go with your gut and GL!
