Bras with backless dress

I have a semi backless dress. I am a D cup. No way can not wear a bra. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: Bras with backless dress

  • You could also have your seamstress add lace or nude mesh to the back slit to cover a strapless bra. But, yeah, if you needed a bra, why buy a backless dress?

  • As a DDer, I too have no idea why someone would buy this dress if there aren't any good options for the appropriate support underneath.  For me, the back of my dress was sheer, so no bra, but I had cups sewn in, but I had a dress with lots of structure going on underneath in the first place.

What? We advised you to get cups sewn in. What exactly were you looking for?

  • Did not ask for the snarky comments. I did consider the bra. The place did not have one in my size to try on. Was looking for other suggestions. Not the snottiness.

I admit that I'm a G cup and didn't even think of a bra option for my backless dress. Found my dress, fell in love, and got it.

That being said, definitely talk with the seamstress about built in cups or get a NuBra. They go up to DD.

  • If you are completely against having cups sewn in (I am), I would try to find an alternative style bra. Victoria's Secret and David's bridal have plenty of options.  I have a stick on (with push up and underwire still included) that works with plunge  neck/backless dresses.  Granted, I have found that I usually can only wear it with a structured dress. You could also try an extender (the elastic looking thing that wraps around your waist) that works with a strapless bra.
  • As a 32E or 32EE, I had cups sewn in and it worked out fine.

  • Get cups sewn in.

I'm a D/DD and didn't wear a bra or have cups sewn in.  However, I had a corset back so those suckers were going no where.   (the corset didn't have a panel and my back was exposed).
