I went to a class at the gym last night and it's a miracle that I still have the use of my arms. I really didn't want to go, and I even texted H that I wasn't going, but realized it'd probably make me feel better (and I made a pact with myself that I can't weeknight drink unless I work out) so I quickly changed and headed to the gym. It definitely loosened up my stiff/sore muscles and I rewarded myself with 2 glasses of wine  



Do you all know what today is? 



I'm picking up H who's under strict orders not to forget my blanket and a box of tissues and we're seeing it at 7.

I have my wedding gown hanging in my office because I finally decided to drop it off tonight for cleaning and preservation. Was a little too scared to leave it in my car at work all day so I brought it in. Then I have to stop next door to the dress shop to my tattoo parlor and get my deposit back. My artist (who is so F-ing amazing I can't even) quit because he's opening his own shop. So he's going to honor all the appointments (mine's in January), but we have to go get our refund from the old shop.

@swazzle I'm super jealous. Bean and I have gone to each opening night as a mom/Bean date and we can't do it this time because he has a tournament this weekend and practice tonight. Boooooooooooo I think we're going to go next weekend in NC

@jenna8984 what are you getting? Now that life is going to return to somewhat normal, I'm going to finally schedule my appointment to get my Revolution Star tattoo before Christmas. 

Flooring got dropped off yesterday and I am SO EXCITED for that to go in. The counter dudes came and measured too, so hopefully that gets installed right before or right after Thanksgiving. Other than the kitchen, my life is pretty mundane.

Today is my Friday! WOOT! (I'll be saying that a lot in the next six weeks).

@swazzle - I'm jealous. We are just now going to see The Martian this weekend at the theater. No way I could get DH to go see HG, too.

Today is a blah, dreary day. It was pouring when I woke up, so I brought my running stuff to work. It's supposed to be dry and 50* at 5p, so I'm hoping to get 3-4 miles in. 

Other than that, I'm just sitting here enjoying my uterine cramps (NOT), and counting down the minutes until 10a when I've told myself I can have a Coke.

Tonight I'll make my 4th HC meal in a row (DH usually does at least half the cooking, but has late shift, so I'm on chef duties). 

Tomorrow, I get to see @audrewuh and a poster who I cannot for the life of me remember her sn. Wine, pizza, and laughs will commence. There might be an @tuarceatha sighting, too!

TK - Y U add a hard return after putting in someone's sn? Dumb.

I'm getting a cover up on my bicep so it's going to be like half my arm. Similar to this, but my artist never does an exact copy of someone else's work so he will draw it in his own style.

I was panicking last night because turns out the airline we are flying next week won't even let us check one bag for free. So this morning I was watching YouTube on how to pack for a week in a carry on. I noticed everyone was using big ass suitcases so I measured mine and great news! It's small enough to be considered a carry on. So crisis averted!

@cu97tiger - Which meal are you making tonight? I signed up for a free trial of Hello Fresh but really dislike the meal options and their website was a nightmare, so I cancelled it last week and they STILL sent me 3 meals. So I have a total of 7 meals (my usual 4 from HC also arrived last night) and it is such a #FWP but I don't know what to do with it all!

@jenna8984 at least you have a place to hang it! My office only has a tiny locker that my winter coat barely fits in.  That is also awesome about your tattoo artist.

I sent this to a few of you yesterday, but if anyone needs to get anything from Kohls, one of the ladies at work gave me her 30% off.  It's only good till today, but the online code is TURKEY30. 

After work I went food shopping and got everything I need for all the upcoming Thanksgiving festivities.  I also got yuengling black and tan ice cream for free, which made my entire night.  Made tacos for dinner last night.  Tonight is going to be a rotisserie chicken and salad, because I have class and no time to cook.

@untouchablets - I don't think any airlines let you check a bag for free anymore. At least not for domestic flights. It's so dumb and sucks. Glad you found an alternative! 

@speakeasy14 - I've seen the previous 3 the night before it "officially" comes out and it was always a nightmare! Generally, I'd have to stand outside the theater in line for over an hour before the movie starts and then fight (to the death!) to get seats together with whoever I'm with. LUCKILY, the theater I go to by my house has assigned seats so H and I will just get there a few minutes before 7 so we can get our dinner order in  Thanks for reminding me about the 30% off again!

@untouchablets You got this! I haven't checked a bag in 4 years. Wear your biggest pair of shoes (like sneakers or boots) and pack just one other small pair (like flats or sandals). Wear your one sweater or jacket if going somewhere cold. Take the stack of shirts you want to pack, and basically cut it in half because you won't wear them all. And travel size beauty stuff, like mini hair straightener.

Is the website being stupid for anyone else?? It's not letting me click on like anything except notifications to get to this thread.

@untouchablets I think Southwest is the only one that lets you check a bag for free.  Make sure to read your airline's carry-on restrictions, some of them require different sizes.  Also, a personal item is free and a large tote counts as one.  I usually have all my electronics, chargers, and a change of clothes in my personal item.  And then everything else in either a carry-on or checked bag.

I am really really tired, despite a good night of sleep last night.  Oh well.  I also feel pretty congested.  Otherwise there is nothing exciting going on here.  Work has been insane this week. I am so ready for Friday.

@Swazzle Last night I definitely thought today was Friday I had to force myself to stop reading my book so I could go to sleep and I was all "Well tomorrow night I can stay up late to finish it because it'll be Friday.' Nope. It's not.

@jenna8984 I need to get my dress cleaned but I don't know where to take it. I'm afraid to bring it to a regular cleaner but I don't want to spend a ton of money. Where are you taking yours?

@jenna8984 - 'Pack just one other small pair'... HAHAHAHA. You clearly don't know me. I pack, on average, two pairs of shoes for each day I'll be gone. My goal for my NYC trip is one pair per day (x 3 days). Yes, TK is an idiot. @swazzle had to send me the link to the thread because I couldn't click on it.

@lavenderfields13 The shop where I bought it in Worcester. They charge $215 for the cleaning and preservation guaranteed for 100 years. I don't think that price is that outrageous at all. It didn't get dirty at all but I don't want my sweat to discolor it over the years.

@untouchablets I usually roll my clothes rather than fold them flat when I have to pack for a long trip and only have a carry-on size bag.

Not a lot going on for me today. I think H and I reached an agreement last night on a car after quite a bit of bickering about it. He's still pushing for a better deal so I told him that if he wants to take the car I want around to bunch of dealers and try to get them to negotiate on price, then go for it. But I'm not participating.

Is TK being wonky for anyone else? @Swazzle had to send me the link directly for the thread today in order to see it. Ok, obviously I'm not the only one. Get it together TK!

@cu97tiger - That's what I'm leaning towards. I think there's 1 fish meal from each so we'll probably eat those ASAP and then this weekend, I'll cook up the extra ones and bring them for lunch next week.

@cu97tiger I'm also an over-packer. I still manage to fit my 3+ pairs of shoes into my bag. Sure I have to sit on it to get it zipped...but everything fits!!!!!!

Oh one more thing @untouchablets I don't know where you're going but I tend to just rely on shampoo/conditioner/soap from the hotel or I just buy a mini bottle whenever I arrive at my destination. It's easier than dealing with all the plastic baggie shit.

ETA - Or I use whatever my MIL stocks her guest bathroom with. I have no shame.

@labro stop making me blush. I guess after all the hoopla of planning the wedding, now that things are somewhat calm, it just seems...eh. Does that make sense? I mean, other than the joy of not having a kitchen for weeks.

@beanbot2002 I think so. My cousin called them the post-wedding blues. Kind of like the baby blues. You've had all this hype and excitement and activity and now things are suddenly back to normal. It'll all level out, plus you're getting a new kitchen! I can't wait to see the final look!

@cu97tiger aaah so many shoes!! That's funny! But you wear cute dresses and heels. I'm just not a gal who cares about clothes, I wear the same jeans and sneakers for a week on vacation. I enjoy fabulous heels but I just don't have anywhere to wear them since we're always walking around a city or hiking or something like that.

@beanbot2002 I definitely had post wedding blues.  When will your kitchen be done? That is definitely something exciting!

@Peaseblossom55 Hopefully they will be done the week after Thanksgiving! Then we have to have someone come in to do the backsplash. I don't trust H and I to do it ourselves. If I'm being completely honest...I'm also considering paying someone to come do the painting. If it can be fucked up, we will.

I definitely plan on rolling everything, and I'm wearing my tall boots on the plane because I'm gonna wear them everywhere and just pack a pair of cozy moccasins. And I'm only bringing travel sized face wash and moisturizer with me, I'll use the hotels shampoo and conditioner and stuff. My big problem is that I'm worried I won't be able to fit a couple of the sweaters I'm planning on wearing and also my laptop which is to big to fit in my biggest purse. Would a beach sized tote be acceptable as a personal bag? I have no clue about air travel lol.

@untouchablets Usually I travel with my carry-on and a backpack - I stuff my laptop and my purse into my backpack and all is good!

@untouchablets - I usually travel with my LeSportsac large weekender and a large tote (I'll pack a smallish crossbody bag in one of them for when I arrive wherever I'm going). You should be ok with that!

@beanbot2002 that isn't too far away.  H did our backsplash, while it isn't bad there are spots where it's crooked, t's such a hard thing.  I can't wait to see the final pictures!
