I have a to do list a mile long today and idk how I'm gonna get any of it done. There aren't enough hours! This weekend bf and I bumped heads over our trip. He said just about a week ago that he doesn't see this trip as a huge deal and now suddenly he wants to plan everything and not give me any details? Over my dead body. We seem to have worked it out but we have until Wednesday to go at it again so who knows.

Great news! I got an email from my dog breeder last night..... My puppy will be born in January!!! And it will come home in March, just in time for my birthday. YAY!!

I had a great weekend, looked at a house on Friday after work and it was really nice, I'm hesitant because the rooms seemed small, yard was small, and it didn't have much room to update it to my own tastes (already been renovated and repainted, etc.) The realtor was great though, and she sent me a bunch of info for other houses, so yesterday I went and looked at 5 places with her (and BF came along). I really liked one of them a lot. Just waiting to get more info on it, and will probably go back in daylight to see it.

Saturday there was a Friendsgiving at BF's brothers place, so we hung out there for a bit. Rest of the weekend was chill.

This is going to be an easy week at work, although I might be on the road Wednesday to do a quick audit.

Morning everyone!

This weekend was crazy, but fun.  Friday, we stayed in, and worked on the backsplash.  We're smashing tile to make it look like cobblestone.  Saturday we went to my best friend's for Friendsgiving.  It turned out really nice.  My bf thinks his transmission is going, so he took my car to work yesterday.  My brother picked me up so I could spend the day with my mom.  My sister and BIL ended up stopping over.  Around 2 my bf texts me and says apparently his family was having a party at his parents and his mom forgot to tell us, so he picked me up when he got off work. 

We're having our office holiday party this evening.  I spent all of last week planning out all the details and I'm so excited to see how it turns out.  I discreetly passed around a menu to get an idea of what people wanted; we're having: stuffed mushrooms, goat cheese tarts with dates, cheesesteak spring rolls, scallop wrapped with bacon, shrimp cocktail, fruit & cheese platter, veggie platter, beef & chicken sliders, meatball grinder station, bacon cheddar cavatappi, coconut chicken strips.

I spent half the weekend sick.  I managed to pull it together on Saturday.  We had brunch (I got something more bland this time and it went down much more smoothly!) and I managed to get the house picked up.  We had some friends over, so I made chili.  We ate, played Balderdash, and then the pups took over and we played fetch with them.  It was a nice evening.

Sunday, I was as sick as a dog.  I got out of bed for a couple hours to go to church, and spent the rest of the day asleep in bed or on the couch.  I ate 2 plain hamburgers and a red slush from Sonic.  What is my life coming to?!?

We watched Pocahontas and Ant-Man last night.  So exciting!

Tonight I'm going to make chicken soup with tortellini and veggies.  It's cold here, and soup sounds fabulous.

Good morning! My weekend was pretty good. Saturday we had a Friendsgiving where we ate ALL the food. My BFF made a pumpkin cheesecake that was to die for! Sunday H and I started painting our deck. It was this really ugly faded red color, so we sanded it down, filled some of the larger holes with wood putty, and started painting it this really pretty blue. We are hoping to finish the first coat tonight because we will definitely need to give it a second coat. My arms are really sore today though from all the hand sanding, but I can't wait for it to be finished! We also saw Mockingjay over the weekend. So good!

I MISSED you all.  

I'll do a separate AW post about India but my weekend was mostly spent traveling.  I left India on Friday (morning time in the U.S.) and didn't get back home home until Sunday afternoon.  It was hell because of the snow storm and about 40 or so hours of travel.  Yesterday I tried to sleep a little but Rajah had an incident....he did well at my Mom's but in the car his already partially torn knee tore some more I think and he started crying.  Broke my heart but thankfully he waited until we were home for it to tear more.  His surgery is getting scheduled for December today.  

I'm wading through hundreds of emails today so thank God I am now drinking coffee again.  I need it.

The rest of my weekend was good, obviously.

Friday night H and I pretty much just hung out together.

Saturday was car shopping day. I went through the USAA Car Buying service which basically works like TrueCar? Anyway, they gave us info on a couple of dealerships that had the car I wanted available and they gave a "suggested price". One dealership was over $1k lower in cost than the other dealership but we would've had to drive over an hour to get there so H and I decided to try the closer dealership first. We negotiated with them for awhile after a test drive and they wouldn't match the other dealerships price. When we tried to leave, they started bad-mouthing the cheaper dealership and saying they wouldn't stand up to the price we were quoted. We said, well we're willing to risk that and we finally left. The other dealership, for the record, DID stand up to the cost we were quoted AND they gave us an extra $750 off for customer loyalty (since I still haven't sent my title to my insurance company yet). 100% worth it to drive the extra distance. I loooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeeeee all the extra bells and whistles on my CX-3 too!! And the red is just so freaking gorgeous.

Sunday I went Christmas shopping with my mom. I'm thisclose to finishing my Secret Santa gifts and I knocked out Christmas presents for my mom and my sisters.

It's super cold here today too (just like everyone else) and I'm seriously appreciating the heated seats in my new car. THEY ARE THE BEST!

Saturday my bro's wife and I took my nieces to visit my grandparents. They absolutely loved it, they live 2 hours away so they don't get many visitors. It was fun and my nieces were so cute and well behaved the entire day and car ride.

Yesterday we saw Hunger Games, so good. I may have brought leftover popcorn in for breakfast today....I have a popcorn problem/ addiction. lol

@labro it takes them a good hour for them to play nice.  Callie is a little toy possessive, so the picture of them sitting and looking sweet was me holding two tennis balls. 

@wink0erin small rooms and yard is no fun, my house is really tiny and we're very limited with storage and furniture options.  Definitely don't buy something you do not love, but I don't understand your thoughts with remodeling... you can always paint, decorate, and add pieces to make a home more you.

@speakeasy14 It definitely takes them awhile to figure out pecking order even if Callie wasn't toy possessive. Cinders will get fed up with Maddux's antics sometimes and snap a little but they've started to settle down more. It just takes time!

@minskat30 I am SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK!!! Coffee is life. Also, poor Rajah! I'm sending him all the healing vibes!

Such a puppy day for everyone!!

Weekend wasn't bad. Saturday was pretty busy. Went to my mum's to get stuff done up, etc etc. then walked to my friend's place to grab her cold tea brewer and play with her son. He's only 7 months but almost walking!! No crawling for this munchkin
That evening didn't do much.
Sunday Matt went to football game with his step-dad. Super exciting! We're in grey cup!! First time our city's been in grey cup in 30 years {mainly since we didn't have a team for a long time} but it's pretty exciting! Apparently next Sunday we're prob going to his parent's place for grey cup party.

Mum's tea party went well. Everyone ordered something! Then had dinner with her.

Tonight is my course and I find out my marks from exam redo. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't anxious about it.
4 more xmas gifts to buy, and those should be done within the week. Yay done before December!! Goals!

edit: why does Starbucks always mess with the spelling of my name? It's already mainly vowels, I don't need more!

I am so exhausted and congested. I did not sleep well last night.  Friday I was at theatre.  Saturday H & I did some cleaning, then we went to the mall. I got my ring cleaned/inspected, he got a video game and I got some new eye shadow primer at Sephora.  We got dinner at PF chang's too.  We then came home and played video games.

Sunday I met my friend for an early brunch at her house. I hadn't seen her in so long. H had hockey then it was just staying home and watching the walking dead. I am glad it's a shortish week for me. I do have to work Friday but I believe a half a day only.

Good morning! 

My weekend was good! I relaxed and caught up on my DVR on Friday while H was out which was really nice. I love me time. 

Saturday, I got my hair did and I really love it! I chickened out and didn't go nearly as dark as we had planned but we added some low lights and chopped off almost an inch of the ends which were really blonde so it appears a little darker. 





Then I had dinner with my in-laws which was actually very nice and my SIL only brought up when I'm having kids once. 

Yesterday, I went food shopping, made lunch for a few days, baked cookies, watched half of the Eagles game because they're fucking awful and I can't take it anymore, cooked dinner, and watched TWD. 

Tonight I have a class at the gym and I just want it to be Thursday already!

@labro @speakeasy14 I mean more like there's not much I could do to increase the value of the home (aside from the regular appreciation over time), the yard was just too small to have much of a patio or deck added which is one of the things I really want to do. I could repaint, sure, and change light fixtures/fans, but for the price the house is listed at I would be overpaying for less yard/room space and I'm not sure about that. It also has an older roof. It did have an awesome basement and the layout was really nice, so I'm keeping it on my list. I have negotiating room there.

One home I looked at yesterday is listed at a lower price, has larger rooms, larger yard, a lot of potential to update or change things pretty easily & cheaply (like a coat of paint), great potential for a patio in the back and side yard, and has a brand new roof. TONS of storage too, and an extra room in the basement. I dreamt about living there last night, I definitely need to see it again!

Blah, Monday blows. H accidentally woke me up early this morning when an article he was reading on his phone automatically started playing a video. His phone was right by my ear, so I was super grumpy with him all morning. He thought my grumpiness was hilarious. I also managed to burn the crap out of my thumb on my straightener, so Monday and I are not currently getting along.

This weekend we went to the pet rescue to make sure they'd received the application and to see Gidget. She had apparently been adopted for a few days by that point, and the same was true of like 90% of the dogs they listed on their website. They gave us a binder to see who was still there, and we found a listing with no picture of a female dachshund mix with a birth date of June 2015. We requested to see her, and as they walk us back they tell us that she's actually 9-10 months old, and they had her listed under a different name on the website. Oooooook. So we get back there, and they tell us that she's missing a paw and will likely need that entire leg amputated. She was playing with other dogs like normal, but they didn't seem concerned that we were first-time pet owners who lived in a second-floor apartment. It really felt like they were trying to push her on us, and while she really was a great dog, I just don't think we were a good fit for a dog that won't be able to use stairs and has special needs. So, anyway, I left that place feeling really down and spent a lot of Saturday sulking while H bought me cake balls and soda and all sorts of comfort food lol.

Yesterday H worked for a while, and then we went to see The Hunger Games. It was so good! We really loved it. They did a great job on that whole series.

Last night I was also browsing Petfinder for the umpteenth time, and I found a puppy through a different rescue that was listed as a corgi. On the rescue's actual website, she's listed as a Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix, but I think she's actually a Jack Russell... but anywho, this rescue has an online application form that is submitted to an actively-checked email address. All of their pups are in foster homes because they don't actually have a facility, which I think is really great too. I'm hoping we have better luck this time around. Here's a pic of her:

I think she looks like a Zoey. I should probably not focus on finding a new name for her just yet though.

@eilis1228 That rescue sounds pretty disorganized...I'd keep looking elsewhere like you're doing.

A good way to meet available dogs is to check rescue sites in your area and see if they're having events on the weekends. I know our Petsmarts ALWAYS have various rescues with cats and dogs available for adoption on the weekends and we have multiple breed specific rescue groups that will have their dogs at various locations once or twice a month so you can meet the dogs, fill out an application and schedule an appointment.

@TwoDimes - OMG, Indy is too freakin adorable. I'm so sad I haven't gotten to experience snow with my dog yet. I'm hoping this cold weather means we'll get some soon though!

My vagina is not having a good start to the week. Last night it got touched with fingers that must have had jalapeno residue still on them because it BURNED like a mofo. I fell asleep with my legs spread apart in front of our pedestal fan, haha. Then today I get to have my yearly appointment with my gyno. At least that means I'm only working 3 hours today (I don't like to go back to work after having stuff put up in me).

Our anniversary on Friday was low key, with dinner at my favorite place in town and a beer. BF was disappointed I didn't want to drink, but I didn't want to get emotional.

Saturday we went to a wood furniture store and couldn't find anything we both liked other than a rocking chair, which is definitely not a high priority for me.

Yesterday we went to another furniture store and I think I may have found a sectional I want. You pick and choose different pieces to put together and create whatever shape you'd like, but one of the pieces you can choose is this massive corner section called a "Cuddler" and I NEED IT. We still need to measure the living room and figure out if it will fit. We may have to special order a piece.

@labro Yep, that's exactly our plan. The rescue that has Louise goes to two local Petsmarts on Saturdays throughout the month, so I'm hoping that we could possibly meet her this weekend. I'm doing my best not get my hopes up in case she's already gone. We also signed up for a few newsletters at different rescues, and we started looking at breed-specific rescues too. Currently there aren't many puppies available, and I suspect it will stay that way since it's the holidays. I also looked up a lot of local breeders, but, as I suspected, all pups in current and upcoming litters are spoken for already. We would prefer to rescue or adopt if we can, but I'm just antsy for a dog at this point.

@wink0erin I agree that it's hard to stay on top of all the adoptions if it's an organization run by volunteers, but the thing is they actually added more pups to their website before we went in. Being the obsessive person I am, I kept checking the website to make sure Gidget was still on there... so they can update it regularly to add more pups, but they can't update it to reflect current availability? Meh, no thanks. I mean, it's seriously awesome that they are able to find homes for the majority of their rescues, but it also felt like they were really dishonest about it. The pups there are all seemed happy, but I was really turned off by their pushiness and overall attitude. If you're as vigilant as you say you are about finding the right home for each animal, then why would you lure people in with pictures of pups that aren't still there and then try to push dogs on people that obviously aren't a good fit? Meh. /rant.

@minskat30 Thank you! I really hope we find one soon. I'm just really impatient because I've had puppy fever for about a year now, but I know I need to be patient and wait until the right pup at the right organization comes along.

@AlPacina grey cup is like the superbowl only less hype because CFL isn't as big. We're excited as a city more than typical because we're year 2 of the expansion team, and for a long time we didn't even have a team.
ps - trying not to laugh at lady parts issue, but I can't imagine the pain! Funny story, my dad use to use his fingers for jalapenos when having tacos. He didn't wash his hands enough before pee'ing .... and well you know the issue.
