Florists

Has anyone heard of Burtons florist? They are located in Melville. I am interested in booking with them, however, would love to hear what anyone has to say about them. Please let me know. Thanks....

I met with them - they are not going to make you a sample until the week before your wedding. They also don't let the flowers rest properly. They're cheaper than many, but that's why, IMO.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

I agree, that is why i decided to book with someone else even though they gave me a quote almost half the price of everyone else.  They will give you a very good price, but there's alot of things they couldn't do for us, like give a sample earlier than the week of the wedding, or even provide as many candles as we want/need.  They suggested alot of DIY ideas that we could do on our own that we were hoping to have the florist take care of, but they wouldn't do it, not even for an increased price.  Overall I wasn't confident that they got what I really wanted, because the woman I met with didn't even really ask me that much, she only wanted to talk price.  That said, if you are less of a control freak than me and are on a budget they will probably be good to look into.

My girflriend used them 17 years ago and we thought they did a great job then. They are kind of like one of those warehouse bridal dress places. They have the same stuff but they're not as facy schmancy as some of the more expensive "salon" type of places (as I remember). As far as a sample bouquet, I didn't even know florists do that. I would just go off of the samples I've seen in their books. As far as the DIY ideas and unwillingness to do the things the other bride(s) asked them to do, it's upsetting to hear they wouldn't do certain things but - given my budget - sharing the DIY makes me more interested in working with them. I can't imagine what the issue was regarding the candles. That's really weird. I'd be interested to hear about others' experiences. I've been referring them for years (though I never ysed them myself). Sandey

We are using a sisters touch in Commack...they are so great. Personal service, affordable and they do everything that you want...ten times better than the way you imagine it. Try them :)
