Randomness

I just got a call from someone who was trying to send me an email (work) but it was kicked back.  I gave her my email and she said "oh, so it did change?"

Umm, no.  It's the same one I've had for over 3 years now.

Apparently they wanted the "y" to be an "i", because you know, I like to switch up the spelling of my name.   And I'm a .CO not .COM.  Everyone wants to put a .com.  I get it.  However, every month this same company calls me because emails get kicked back. I guess they do not have a save function on their programs.  Whatever the case, it's getting old.

Any random conversations you want to start?

Re: Randomness

  • I have a super uncommon last name.  There is a family with my last name out in California, however, and I have the same first initial as the mom, so I get emails for her from time to time.  Yesterday I got one from an attorney about some complaint she filed!

Do you ever reply to their emails ?? When you get them?

If so they should just keep the message going if they can't save it smh !!
That would absolutely get on my last nerve!!
  • I've been having neck and upper back pain for longer than I'd like to admit. It's usually pretty manageable, but it is still there every day. Long story short, last Wednesday I woke up in so much pain that I could hardly move. I decided it might be time to have it checked out.

Went to the chiropractor for an exam on Monday and the x-rays showed that I have no curvature in my neck, and one of the vertebrae in my neck is too close to another one, which is pinching a nerve and causing all the pain.

They wanted over $600 to treat me for one month. Screw that. So back to the old drawing board for me I guess!

yep.   I get why they do not run a email chain.  Each email is for a different owner.  Why my email address isn't correct in their profile, contact list, whatever is beyond me.

$600 JEEZ !! Yeah definitely look into other options or another Chiro for that matter ! 2nd opinions help sometimes !!
  • H & I decorated our Christmas tree the other night, but I still have all the other decorations to put out.  I need to prioritize that soon, so we can put back all the storage containers that are just thrown around everywhere!  I still also have 2 more wreaths to put up outside, but I need to stitch the ribbon onto the frame, so I can hang them from the windows.  I also just bought a spotlight to light up the front of our garage, so you can see the wreath we hung up there.  All of this wouldn't take me too long, but I have so much else going on!

First, we have the new dog craziness.  Betsey is settling in, but I think Olive is getting only dog withdraw already.  She's been a little extra needy today.

I'm also baking the cake for my friend's baby shower on Saturday.  There will be about 25 people, so it will be a decent sized cake.  I got the first layer baked last night and its currently in the freezer.  I still have to make the other layer tonight.  I also have to wrap all of the gifts for said baby shower as well.  Then Friday I will make all of the icing and decorate the cake.

I also need to start my Christmas cards.

  • SO & I purchased our first Christmas Tree together and when I tell you it looks sick lol I swear ! It's pretty and white and we put lights and ornaments on but it still looks sooooo small and sickly!! I don't know how to buff it up a little ! Randomness for you !!

  • FH has jury duty; tonight is his orientation. I am demanding that he act unethically and share all of the details of the case with me.

This week is the week of wedding deliveries... yesterday I got my shoes, today I get a big order of servingware and disposables from Smarty Had a Party, and tomorrow I get the last piece of our invites. Also my shower dress should be coming soon.

I need to scoop litterboxes tonight. Least favorite chore!

Girl, you need to go to a real doctor... like an MD/DO. My primary care referred me to a sports medicine dr for my neck/back pain (which sounds simliar to your issues), and between some meds, XRAYs, and an MRI, I was able to start physical therapy and a year later, i'm like a new person! Best part is, it was mostly all covered by my insurance. Find an MD and PT that are covered by insurance (minus any deductible, copay, etc) and it should help!!
That is my plan now! I wish I hadn't even wasted the money for the exam at the chiropractor. My PCP is just soooo hard to get in with. But if I can get in to see him, I know he will refer me to someone good. I'm hoping and praying he has a random opening from a cancellation in the near future!

I agree.  I did the same as red (except it was my shoulder).   What a difference meds and PT made.  One shot, 6/8 weeks of PT and a few stronger pain killers (which I never finished) I was a new person.  It's been almost 3 years and I'm still fine.     My insurance sucked, but it still covered most of the treatments.

  • I agree with @redwoodoriginal ! I was told by one doc I was fine and all i needed was muscle relaxers, I went to another doctor who actually did XRAYS and found that after my slip and fall I actually had stage 4 scoliosis ! So please get checked ASAP !!

Please don't do the bolded, he could get in serious trouble if its found out!  All he has to say is "I was telling FI about this case." to another juror and he could get fined.  Just wait until its done and then he can fill you in on all the details!

If your H shares the info before the trial is finished, that could negate the verdict, cause a mistrial, and the state will have to do the trial over again.  He could wind up in BIG trouble.  What are you thinking?

  • I've been studying for my Emergency Health Services exam for this part of my pre-medic program and now that I'm sitting outside of the building waiting to take the test, I can't remember anything. I got here at 3 and they don't open the door until 4:30; I thought I would've hit a lot more traffic, but clearly I missed all of it. I'm trying not to stress by listening to Christmas music on the radio, but it's not helping. I just want this test over with, so 10:01 needs to hurry up!

  • I was Christmas shopping for my 6 month old nephew.  My sister (his mom) said that he needs pants, so that's what he's getting from me ... pants.  At his age, all he'll care about is if he can play with the tissue paper.

But as I was looking online for baby clothes, I found baby "lounge pants" and baby "yoga pants".

He's 6 months.  His life is lounging.  Does he need pants specifically for that?  And he loves squirming and playing with his toes, but I'd hardly call that yoga.
I found it all to be hilarious.  I also got him a shirt that says "future genius".  I want to get him clothes for Houston sports teams, but since they live in Dallas/Ft Worth and support our rivals, those onesies would just be used to wipe his butt.
  • I love my chiropractor, so my UO is to give them a try!

I'm working an event for the catering company tonight at the same place we're getting married.  I think all the music I listened to to prep for dress shopping has lingered the feels because I'm super excited to be back in the building again!

Try the Kohl's website.  Carters is a good brand.

I actually went on the Carters / Oshkosh-b'osh site and found some cute ones.  I got all excited bc they had a promo coupon, but since I purchased clearance items, I couldn't use the coupon.  But, I had already picked the stuff out, so I went ahead and bought it.  I also got a few things on clearance on Target.com.

I also want to get him a cross for his nursery which could be hung in his room when he's older (my sister asked for this, actually).  I found this on Etsy and really like it.  His nursery is in primary colors (the theme is classic Mickey), so this would blend.  And I think it would transition well into a room when he gets older.  At least, I hope it would ...

    Youll do fine!

I did my national registry when I was 18, before they got rid of EMS-SPEC. Just don't forget your BSI!

They said this test is automatically graded so I'll know my score at the end of it. My dad's been joking with me all week, "read the WHOLE question and when in doubt, you can't go wrong with scene safety or BSI." It shouldn't be too bad...I hope. I did pretty well during the class reviews so I hope I stop psyching myself out once I get in there.

Whoa! It was a joke. I can't actually "demand" anything from my FH; he's a grown man. I also demand he tells me what my Christmas presents are and he never does. I'm just curious. :) Next time I'll throw in a LOL, a smiley, or sarcasm font.

  • @thefanciestbeckler  - thanks!  I'm still trying to decide if I should get something a bit less "cutesy".  I want this to be something that he'd want to hang in his room at a later age.  Thoughts?  Like I said, his nursery is in primary colors (lots of red, white, blue, yellow) and is Mickey Mouse-themed.
  • @holyguacamole79 I still think it could work! They could always paint it different colors as he gets older if he didn't like the stripes and stuff.

I'm not a fan of chiropractors. I have severe scoliosis and I've seen/heard of too many that think that they can fix things that are beyond their skill to fix.  And even worse when I've had one try to sell me that he can straighten out my spine after it's been fused (half my spine is one solid bone now... it can't be moved without breaking my back, so no thank you). Before my back surgery, I have been to osteopathic manipulationist, who basically do same thing as chiropractor, but with an actual DO medical degree, so if I was going to go to anyone for adjustments, I'd go to them. But, my PT managed to change my life and get me off all pain meds after 10 years on fentanyl and morphine. So, I definitely would suggest finding an awesome PT.

Goodness gracious, I'm sorry to hear of your struggles.
But I'll also add that one time I had random lower back pain for months. I tried a Chiro first and it helped alleviate the pain temporarily, but then I went to my physical therapist when the pain returned. 6 weeks of 2x/week appointments and no issues ever since!
What I like about PT is that they understand how everything in your body is connected. My lower back pain was due to tightness in my glutes. The tightness pulled on my back muscles and spine. So by working out my glutes, my back pain went away. So logical, and yet other doctors don't get it.
