It's not Thursday...

Re: It's not Thursday...

  • @misskittydanger I used to have a sofa table exactly like that in my entrance and I loved it! you can throw a basket with your keys on one end, but have a runner and pictures to make it look nice. I was sad that my new house had no spot for it (you walk in directly to a set of stairs) so I gave it to my friend.

  • @jenna8984  I love the under shelf of it, because I have fabric boxes for hats, mitts, etc that would be great there. I never even considered a possible runner for it  great idea!
  • @minskat30 - You're the best pup mom ever! I'm so glad Raj is doing better today than he was yesterday!

  • @swazzle, glad you enjoyed dinner with your friend!

@untouchablets, you and I will both be decorating our trees tonight.

@lavenderfields, I'm so glad for your dad! Continued healthy vibes.

@jenjen047, I love your makeup trial!

    @minskat30, continued vibes for Raj.
    ---
Dinner at Panera was good. Picked up some new yarn - every blanket I have tried knitting lately has been picking on me, but I have faith in the new pattern (plus the Bernat Blanket yarn is delightfully squishy). Bell ringing went well, too - H and I were in an entryway so it wasn't cold.

Tonight H and I are getting out the tree and my nativity set. We don't have any good places for the nativity, so we're setting up the card table. Then we're wrapping Christmas presents (we're done. Be jealous.) and packing up a bunch to mail to MIL for her family.
  • @misskittydanger yea I had a few runners that I'd change for the season! the baskets below sound like a great idea too

  • @minskat30  you guys are such cute pup parents, I can't wait until baby minskat gets to be around!
  • @minskat30 I hope Raj's recovery goes smoothly! He'll be glad to be home, the vet can be stressful for critters. Best wishes for the coming days/weeks.

  • @TwoDimes I think reveal is the 14th.

  • @wink0erin I'm so glad the inspection went well!!!!! That's like the biggest hurdle next to getting your financing all approved! YAY!!

  • @wink0erin That's great!! How old is the house? I only ask because if others in the area have cracked foundations and this one is "new" it can still settle and crack. But if it's like 20 years old then you should be golden! I'm a total dork, so I did the same exact thing with furniture measurements and graph paper! haha

  • @wink0erin That's great news that the inspection went well!

  • @jenna8984 The house was built in 1981, so I'm good! I'm so excited about the graph paper that I don't want to do any actual work today.

  • @alpacina omg I feel your pain on the food situation. Can't tell you how many times I buy something that go together (chips & dip, cheese & crackers) and H eats just one item before I can get to it. Then I'm left with the other which is useless until I buy more of the other half! grrrrr

  • @TwoDimes - TK isn't accepting the fact that I wanted to change the color of my spoiler text, so I will just have to PM you!

@jenna8984 - YES! It's BS. The worst one was lately I bought some cottage cheese (yes, I know, people on here hate cottage cheese), which I like to eat with seeds or fruit. He found a recipe for fake ice cream that uses cottage cheese in the recipe, so he used some a couple of times to make his dessert. Then, when I finished the cottage cheese that I BOUGHT, he gave ME a hard time because he didn't have any left to make more of HIS thing.

@AlPacina Cottage cheese fake ice cream? I mean, I love cottage cheese... but I don't know about all that.

right?! @swazzle 's puree banana ice cream sounds 1000 times better

  • @swazzle - Yes, we know. You've told us.

@wink0erin & @jenna8984 - It is seriously delicious. It's just cottage cheese, peanut butter, and vanilla-flavored protein powder mixed together and frozen. He's lifting weights like crazy right now, so it's really just a bowl full of protein. . . I don't even notice there's cheese it in. I think it just adds creaminess to it.

  • @wink0erin the HS fencing season is in the winter, HIS personal fencing season is basically year round, gets more intense in the late winter/spring up until Summer Nationals in July, and then eases up a bit in late summer/early fall. But he trains 5 days a week year round and he still has tournaments on weekends once or twice a month in the slower part of the season.
  • @alpacina that actually sounds kinda good to me (sorry @swazzle, I LOVE cottage cheese)
  • @alpacina can't get on board. I even like cottage cheese but the thought of mixing it with peanut butter -hork !

I can accept this. I was hesitant, for sure. I'll stick to regular ice cream, myself. :)

Plus, I think one serving is around 20 grams of protein or something.

  • @minskat30 - Aww poor Raj! You're the world's best mommy though and I'm sure he will be much happier to be at home! I'm sending vibes to all of you!

@jenna8984 - We have not booked our honeymoon yet. We fail. I think we are going to have to do a mini-moon the week after the wedding and then do a bigger trip in April, which is really something I wanted to avoid but it is what it is.

@wink0erin - Congrats on the house! When do you close? Also latkes....yummm!! I might have to make some tonight.

@AlPacina - I've missed this entire season of Mindy. I need to binge. Also we got a free week of Hello Fresh from a friend and then they messed up our delivery so I called and complained so we got a 2nd free week. Blue Apron actually wasn't free, I bought a Groupon so it cost $39. I forgot about that.

Also forgot to mention I got an email from one of my mom's friends saying how impressed she was by getting a thank you note so quickly after my shower (I mailed them out the Monday/Tuesday after my Saturday shower). It felt like such a personal victory and a mental f you to my cousin who got married at the end of June and still hasn't sent a thank you. I actually am tempted to ask him if he received my gift since I had it shipped directly to his house.  Is it too late for that? Also is it too passive aggressive?
  • @AlPacina - I was tagged in a discussion about it so I felt the need to reiterate my opinion.
