My poor pup has to have surgery this afternoon! He has a skin tag/mole type thing on his eyelid. It's big and ugly, but has been relatively problem free since we rescued him about 2 years ago. Last night we noticed it was really inflamed and goopy and he was itching at it.
My mom took him to the vet for us (since we both had to work) and they said that since he is only 5ish, they want to remove it. It's irritated/infected and will likely get worse.
I also feel bad that I didn't get to take him myself, just in case something happens. . . . although at 8+ months pregnant I would have probably broken down in tears in the vet!
I also feel bad for the approximately $500 hit my wallet is about to take, but it's worth it if he feels better.

UPDATE: He is out of surgery and in recovery. The vet said he did great, and his sutures should heal within a week. We can pick him, and his cone of shame, up in just about an hour and a half. . . . I can't wait to snuggle this crazy pup!
