I am looking for advice regarding inviting co workers when you are the boss. I manage 8 people that are spread between 3 locations. So I am closer to the ones that are in my location. The couple that are in different locations I have basically a work only relationship with but they do know that I am getting married. Before I got promoted to a supervisor, I was friends with some of the people that now report to me. So basically some of the relationships that I have with my staff are stronger than others. My thought was that since I am the boss I really have to invite all or none of them. Otherwise it looks like I'm playing favorites by just inviting only some. But I feel like it would make some of them uncomfortable to be invited since we are not very close. I am really torn on what to do. Any advice would be appreciated!
