Kosher Reception Halls in Long Island, and or Caterers...But Not in Temple...

Hi Ladies, I would love any input that you have...I have a few religious family members and we might have to go Kosher, does anyone have some suggestions of locations that is pretty and reasonable and not in Temple? I love the beach so I wanted to do it by the water if possible but it's hard to find a Kosher Kitchen Venue or a place where they take Caterers and does not cost an Arm an a Leg??? Please provide any feedback you can!!! Sincerely, Marina

Hi Marina, I needed a kosher caterer as my fiance and many of his friends and some family keep kosher.  I called Prestige and was completely stone walled after two calls.  The guy was supposed to send me venues they work with, sent me about 7 (most not in the price range I gave him) and when I told him I was looking island-wide, he said that would make things easier because he could recommend some places closer to my price range and then I never heard back from him again after several follow up calls. We booked Peter Schneir at Regal Caterers.  They are based out of the Dix Hills Jewish Center (and that's where we're having ours because that's where he could give us the best price and money is a factor for us) but he can work anywhere that will allow a kosher caterer to come in  (have truck will travel).  He has worked all over the tri-state and he's an incredible can-do guy.  We had several food allergies and specifications.  There has been nothing we've thrown at him yet that he hasn't done for us.  He came recommended to us from someone I work with.  She has used him for smaller and bigger parties over the last twenty some odd years. His number is 631-462-5229.Tell him Sandey Meyerson referred you if you call.Good luck and let me know if I can help further.Sandey

Hello, Thanks Sandey for your input, it is much appreciated! Yes, it's been tough finding a place to have a Kosher wedding. I myself am not Kosher but some of my family is and it would just be easier if the entire wedding was Kosher. Sounds like we are in a similar situation.:-) I will give him a call and see what he can recommend for us but I'm glad you found a place for your wedding. Good luck to you!Marina
