Unpopular Opinions

I miss these.

I dislike Christmas. It's just too much for me. I don't get why it's so much bigger than any other holiday.

That "charm" people like in old houses? I hate it. Cutesy windows and big ugly wooden trim is ugly as shit and I don't like it.

I don't like pumpkin spice flavored every single god damn thing.

I love beige.

  • I don't think it should matter if you are a few minutes late to work. At the end of the day, it comes out of your paycheck. So technically it's saving the company money, right? :p

I've never seen "It's a Wonderful Life" and have no desire to.
    I never liked "Seinfeld".
I like Adele's music, but I don't get why everyone is going so insane over her new album & tour.

I adore koozies and I don't give a shit if they're personalized. It's like the one thing that I'll use again and again and it doesn't matter to me if the colors are NMS or it has someone's wedding date on it. It keeps my beer cold and condensation off my hands.

    I hate Ikea furniture.
me too.  We had personalized one from our wedding.   7 years later I still have some of my guests send pictures of them still using them.       I will admit my family/friends are big backyard BBQ, beach, pool and boating people.   So koozies are generally a mainstay.   No one care what is on the koozies, only that they have one.   I have a stockpile.  When I lived in the islands one was in my bag at all times.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Thank you!  I am so over Hello.  Yes, her voice and music are beautiful but all of her songs sound the same to me.

It's been unseasonably warm for Michigan in December and I hate it!  It's raining today, like legit need an umbrella raining.  Where's the snow?!?  I don't own 50 hand-knit scarves and hats for nothing!

I wouldn't say that I adore them, but I don't think they're as tacky as others make it sound.  My parents' house is on a lake, and they have a large bin of koozies.  Whenever we go out on the water, we'll reach in & grab one.  It may be from Jen & Phil's wedding in 2002 or a company freebie you get when you walk by their booth at a convention.
  • I drink mixed drinks so I don't use them but koozies are huge in my circle. Everyone I know has a huge bin of them, myself included. Unless they're Packers or Redwings or something, no one cares what's on them.

I mean for me, it's something I am not going to buy for myself right? So I'm only getting it as a freebie or at a wedding or a shower or something. I do adore some of them because they bring back fun memories when I pull them out. Obviously I like to create emotional attachments to random objects. ;)

    There.  I said it.
    Popular.
Really?  Thank goodness.  He's ridiculously popular here, and I can't wait for that to change.
  • @Heffalump I mean honestly, I have very very few parent friends who actually like it. And I see more "OMG it's so creepy! I hate it" than I do people who actually like it and use it. Hating Elf on the Shelf is definitely not a UO. But it's a good opinion. :)

I don't know many people who like it.  My husband & I bought one just to screw around with it.  We got a good picture of him in our freezer hugging a bottle of vodka.

I like our elf but it's an added ploy for DD.   At 5, she has been in RARE FORM this month.   I told DH Friday night that it didn't matter what we put on the birth certificate because she wasn't going to listen to anything I said.   He didn't care because he'd just seen Star Wars on a man date.     We keep him simple.   And it's DH's job to move him before bedtime.   He doesn't do "stuff" and I loathe the concept that the elf is playing with shit and making a mess.   I don't have the time to clean my house on a regular day.   Don't add to my list at Christmas time or I may give you coal.

I am not excited about it being nearly 70 degrees on Christmas Eve.   While I don't know that I wish for it to be cold enough for DH to freeze his baguettes off (Thank you National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation) but I would like to feel like it's seasonally appropriate.

This is more of an "I judge" than an UO b/c I don't know if this is popular or not, but I hate pets in clothes.
Because I like to antagonize people. :) "I Judge" threads are tons of fun too. Cinders loves to play dress up./\

I wish I could find the picture of my dog and my sister's dog wearing their Christmas sweaters just to top things off.

Our neighborhood is lousy with pro-elfers, and I hate it.  I just don't have the time, but then when I blow it off, I feel 2% guilty that I'm blowing it off, which then turns into about 98% resentful that I'm feeling guilty about a stupid elf doll.  I hereby absolve myself of Elf on the Shelf-related feelings.
  • I love "charm" in other people's houses, but wouldn't want to take care of an old house.
Did you see the guy who will be the live Elf at your holiday party for $100 an hour?

(When I think of a UO or judgy thing I'll post again, but right now I'm too happy to be off work, drinking black coffee and watching old Supernatural reruns ;) )
