@KeptInStitches My desktop has had weird glitchy issues like that after I upgraded to Windows 10. For the most part, it runs great, but every now and then it will blue screen for a dumb reason. H keeps tinkering with it to no avail. I really hope you have better luck tonight with your laptop!

Hi, everyone! I apologize for going MIA for a while. I decided I needed to take a step back from NEY after back-to-back confrontational discussions, and then with the holidays it became a full-on break. After logging back in today, I saw all the posts I was tagged in calling me out for bailing, and I apologize for disappearing.

Not a whole lot to report on my end. Everyone at the office, including me, is feeling the holiday hangover. We're all dragging our feet this week. H and I are trying to get into a more normal routine, and I'm back to my normal diet and gym routine too. Gotta love boring, run-of-the-mill adulting.

H and I are getting ready to move next month (we're transferring our lease to a bigger unit within the same complex). We've been trying to decide on a color for the accent wall, where to put all the furniture, which desks we should get for the office, etc. He wants to get me a huge corner desk that can be split between my computer and my sewing machine, which will be really nice. Hopefully I'll be able to sew a bit more once I have a dedicated space for everything. 

Zoey is doing really well too. She's growing so fast! As of 12/23, she had gained 3 lbs in 3 weeks. I think she's grown a bit since then too. The vet thinks she'll be about 16 lbs, and I'd say she's about 14 or 15 lbs now. We had a DNA test done at her last vet visit too, and the results should be emailed to me within the next week or so. Very curious to see those!

Anywho, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's!

@jenna8984 I love seeing woods out back! I get a nice view from the kitchen. There are a lot of deer in the area too. I'm 5'2 but the mailbox really is huge!

@minskat30 Yes! Hardwood throughout the whole upstairs. It's all in really good condition. I was going to put a rug in the living room but I think I'll keep it as is for now. I did put a rug in the master bedroom though.

@labro I also prefer the white mint choco chip. Something about the neon green color of most mint ice cream freaks me out. Tastes good, but still.

@eilis1228, part of the reason I upgraded was I was getting weird blue screens in Windows 7. It seems to be a problem with my RAM (stopped after the RAM was downgraded), but I still like 10 - it's stable, quick, responsive, and I was able to turn off all the phone-home security issues.

@Keptinstitches I've loved Windows 7, and my computer keeps reminding me to upgrade to 10, but I'm afraid I won't like it as much. I wish I could have it on my work computer to give it a trial run before committing. I don't want to be stuck with an OS I hate!

@eilis1228 - I was sad when you went away and I missed you posting here.  I'm glad Zoey is doing well...she is a cutie.  Bathroom remodel will be done in two months according to my BIL...so probably more like 3 months in reality.    I just pray it is all done soon because taking showers in the basement bathroom is no fun and I'm only a week in to it.  What colors are you deciding between for the accent wall?

@alpacina - TK sucks sometimes.  I don't get notices for PMs most of the time and sometimes don't get tag notices too.  It logged me out once and I had to call the help desk for TK to get back in because I couldn't remember the email address I used to sign up.  IT dude was surprisingly nice and friendly about it.

@wink0erin, the way I use my computer (mostly for internet access, causal gaming, and light office use), I love 10 so far. I'm ignoring the stupid tiles (turned off a whole bunch of them). However, there are a bunch of security issues with the OS wanting to give all your information to Microsoft (worse than usual), so H and I went through my computer and turned them off. I'll be checking after every time it updates as well to make sure it didn't automatically turn things back on.

@wink0erin thanks for the tip! BF told me to do the same. I just don't think it'll help much. I don't have a ton of inflection in my voice as it is when I talk normally. Its there, but not much lol

@minskat30 at least you are realistic about the reno. I'm hooked on this show called Renovation Realities where people who have zero experience try to do something major on their own. And it just kills me that they all say "I'm going to completely gut this kitchen. I took one week off from work so it'll be done in 1 week for $4,000." And then at the end of the episode it says the renovation was completed in 3 months for $9,000. Every. Single. Time. lol

@speakeasy14 I'm pretty sure both Breyer and Haagen Dazs have a white mint chocolate chip (no green food coloring), but I remember that my favorite is actually the Talenti gelato brand because it's like 5 ingredients and super delicious and wonderful and the best thing that's ever entered your mouth!

Ha! @jenna8984 I figured out reno timelines and budgets were bull when we did our first major project of putting up a wood fence around our larger-ish yard.  Between the city permits (including a "special" permission permit because our city is full of control freaks), dumpster rentals and re-rentals, digging/ground issues, water company pipe/issues, delivery problems, etc. I learned very quickly not to have high hopes.  I just hate doing renos in the winter...we did our kitchen in the winter last year and now the bathroom.  Not ideal but it is when my BIL and his construction friends are slow at work so if we want to save money it is necessary.

This made me laugh out loud because I left just a teeny tiny bit in the container last night so H couldn't say I ate it all in two days.  This is why I don't buy ice cream often...

@speakeasy14 - The movie of Gone Girl was so intense! The scene in NPH's house was way better acted out, IMO. I loved that movie.

@MissKittyDanger - You should trade in pasta for soup. Clear soup, like chicken noodle. Clear liquids are awesome for you, and the heat of the soup helps with all of those symptoms!

@peaseblossom55 - I am sending you such enormous hugs. I hope you're able to snuggle and find some comfort tonight.

@wink0erin - Congratulations on moving in! Did you spend your first night in the house?

So I tried to give an update on my Christmas and break, but typing stuff out on mobile takes waaaay too much time when you're a fast typer like me. So here are some highlights:

- Christmas was full of great food, tons of family, and we went on a hike in the snow. My SIL (That's right, apparently they didn't get divorced AGAIN, for, like, time number 3 now) was there and super sick, so we got through having to be around her by making jokes about it being syphilis (not to her face, but yes, on Christmas.... We're terrible people).

- I got so many Christmas presents this year that I don't want and wish I didn't have to find space for, haha. My mom got me these cushions COVERED in sparkle. I mean, they're beautiful, but not me or my BF's style at all. His mom got us all this kitchen stuff that I haven't bought because I won't use. It's kind of frustrating. But I did get Rock Band from my BF, and am starting to get pretty good at playing drums!

- The day after Christmas BF and I drove to Leavenworth, WA and went on a snowshoe hike. We managed to get about 2000' of elevation gain, which is way harder and slower in snow shoes. I only fell once!

- We used the entirety of last week to get our house organized. I didn't spend any time on my job application, because I used most of my non-organizing time reading. I read The Girl On The Train, and Ready Player One, and I loved both of them!

- We did Christmas with my BF's family this last weekend. That great dane puppy is HUGE now! And he's still probably going to gain another 40-50 pounds, apparently!
