Any OHEKA brides?

Has anyone had/ will have a wedding at Oheka Castle?  I already went for the walk through and if we have it off peak, it is within our budget.  I am in love with the place, and it is definitely our top pick.  I would appreciate any advice, suggestions, and experiences from Oheka!

I am not getting married at oheka, but I'm getting married at Cold Spring Country Club next door. The property at OHEKA is beautiful and from what I hear the food and service are good as well. I went to an affair there a few years ago and it was good.

hi! mine is not until next sept 18, 2010. my parents have friends who are members and we went to look and thought it was great - i heard they recently rennovated. we didnt look around much because it was perfect especially location-wise im getting married at a church in huntington. have you been working with sandy? what time of day are you getting married? the church is 12:30 i think we will start the reception at 4pm. who are you doing for music, photog. so much to ask you. actually i should ask you about the food we are going to have to decide on that eventually. sorry if that is a million questions but definitely interested in what you have to say.....!

I'm getting married at Oheka on July 4, 2011! I fell in love with the castle while doing research on venues, and it was even more beautif in person.  I booked it last Sunday, on the evening of my visit!Oheka is definitely more affordable off-peak and on weekdays.  July 4th happens to land on a Monday in 2011, and, thankfully, unlike most other venues, they price the date as a Monday, not a Sunday.  If you do book it, I recommend working with Rick.  He's really reasonable, will throw in other perks, and will work with you on prices.  Don't be get scared off by the high prices they initially quote you.  Once you ask them to look into specific dates, they'll email you quotes for those dates, which are much lower!  I really appreciate that they don't nickel and dime you.  Nearly everything I'd want (ie. raw seafood station, caviar and vodka station, dessert cafe, bridal suite, valet, ceremony) is included in the price whereas I found they were additional at other places.   Also, contrary to what some believe, they don't charge additional for outside vendors--they just ask that the vendors are insured.Feel free to message me with questions or further discussion, although my planning process has just begun not too long ago!

We looked there (after Altantica cancelled on us) and I am in LOVE with it.. agree that if you do off season and on a Friday it falls within our budget - can I ask you what venue fee and price per person?

mccloskm - you can e-mail me at jordanamn@yahoo.com, we can compare vendors etc!  I have so many questions too, yes I have been working with sandy.  We are having the ceremony there as well, so we will be starting at 6 pm, so ceremony will be at 6 then 6:30 cocktail hour, etc.  I haven't gone for a tasting yet, probably not until January.  I have another friend getting married at the club in september, the week after you i think

I'm just curious when you girls say that it is "affordable" off-peak and on weekdays... what price range are we talking about if you wouldn't mind saying.  I love Oheka Castle and would consider a wedding there if it fell into my price range but I'm not sure if mine is yours as well. Thank you.

I am actually getting married at Oheka Sept 4, 2011. I am new to this board. I am getting married on a Sunday of Labor Day weekend (so its basically like a Saturday night). I met with Kelly and Rick and they were wonderful. Ive also already booked my photography and dj and now im looking into my limos. I am so excited and i would definitley get married at Oheka if its in your price range. I will be attending a wedding there in two weeks and if you have any questions feel free to message me back.
