Good morning and happiest of Fridays! 

I'm staying home this weekend and I'm going to FT with my stepdad and mom since I can't make it down to see them. The weather is supposed to be just too bad for me to drive through. 

H and I will spend tomorrow on the couch with the kids and continue our The Wire marathon. Hopefully the winds aren't as bad as they're predicting because I do not want to lose power. Sunday will be football. I'm rooting for Peyton and Cam. 

I finally stopped at the jeweler about my rings last night -- I had a reaction to the metal in October and had them redipped because they're white gold, the reaction started happening again about 2 weeks ago so I haven't been wearing any of my rings in that time period. Basically, I have to test out each of the 3 and see if I'm just having the reaction to one of them as opposed to all of them. We're thinking it might be my 1st anniversary band because it's the newest. So today, I'm just wearing my e-ring which feels and looks so weird. I'm going to pretend I'm newly engaged

TGIF! I just have to get through work today. Tonight I think we are going to see if my cousin and her kids wants to go out to eat. If not then just BF and I will go. 

Tomorrow I will do what I need to around the house. I really need to do laundry and especially wash our sheets and comforter. Tess sleeps with us so they are covered in dog hair. Tomorrow night we will most likely lay low. The storm was supposed to hit us hard, so everything around here is shut down, however now they are saying we might not get anything at all so who knows.

Sunday is Patriots. As for the NFC I'm not too sure who I want to see win it, I'm thinking Arizona but the Panthers would make for a good fight if the Pats make it to the Superbowl again so we shall see.

@Swazzle Ugh sorry about the weather. I hope it doesn't get too bad that y'all lose power.

I bought Callie some super cute pants yesterday at Target and also a St. Patrick's Day outfit lol. Ugh...I need to stay away from all baby clothes at the stores. 

Then I gave Maddux a long overdue bath and we basically both took a bath in the process. It's ok though because he is silky and clean now and smells like flowers.

Last night Callie was super cranky...she had  a ton of gas and I'm guessing that was the issue. Poor thing wanted nothing to do with napping, play time, or food. She just wanted to be held. Luckily after bath time she ate all of her bedtime feeding and went straight to sleep. She is in a much better mood this morning.

DH and I are both home with her today since the weather is icky outside. So we are going to have lots of snuggles.

I'm making Lentil tacos tonight for dinner and probably drinking lots of wine since the weather is going to suck.

@swazzle that sucks about your rings, hopefully it gets figured out soon so you can wear them all again. Sometimes when I'm watching tv I play with mine and put one on the opposite hand to see how it looks alone and it's so weird!

We are only supposed to get like 2 inches of snow up here, lucky for me and @caseface5 . If that's true and I wake up to decent roads, I'm going to visit my friend and her 5 month old. He's a chunky monkey who weighs more than my 10 month old niece haha, can't wait to snuggles him.  Sunday, we are having H's friend from work and his gf over for the Pats game. I've only met them once a year ago but it should be fun.

Monday working from home since my scan/ultrasound is at 11am, would be pointless to drive to work for 2 hours then leave.

@Swazzle Ughhh I hope you're able to figure out which ring or rings are causing the issue. That's super annoying! I'm really glad you're staying home this weekend....the radar looks terrible right now.

Not so much for me here. It's my WFH day which is probably fortunate since if we get any snow at all the roads will be shit. Right now all the models are saying it won't be cold enough for the rain to transition to snow until around 7ish though and then we might get an inch. I'm really frustrated though because it's possible our 5k on Sunday will be cancelled because of the weather! What's the point of a Hot Chocolate 5k if it isn't cold I ask????

Tomorrow I'm going with my mom to search for some more cold weather running gear. I need a better pair of gloves and socks and something to wear under my jacket.

Sunday is the big race IF it happens! I have not been great about training this month at all so I'm hoping to break things up and run a mile, walk a little, run a mile, walk, and then finish the race running. It'll depend on the course though too...if it's all flat I may be able to slowly run the entire thing.

@swazzle - I hope you guys don't lose power...seriously, that sounds like a cluster fuck.  Also, you reminded me to get my ring cleaned.  Every time I get it cleaned (which is not often at all) I get that "newly engaged" feel.

@caseface5 - Raj is NOT allowed on the bed.  If it did, I would be swimming in dog hair at night.  We need to clean our comforter though too...it is covered in construction dust I'm sure.

@southernpeach89 - AW the cute Callie outfit please?  I'm glad Callie is in a better mood this morning.

@jeann8984 - Good luck with the scan/ultrasound on Monday!  Let us know how it goes please.

I'm tired as fuck.  I had a terrible night last night with plumber drama.  In addition to that, I had a really bad interaction with someone at work about a very sensitive issue to me right now (maternity leave).  I felt attacked in the discussion and I wasn't expecting it AT ALL to be honest.  On the bright side, one of my co-workers also had a very positive reaction to the discussion.  As several of you know, I work with all men for the most part.  They are great men for the most part...I guess I just had a moment where I realized my opinion on something that I thought was more of a human decency opinion turned out to be a "feminist" opinion that was scoffed at by some.  I was sort of shocked into silence, and now I'm really, really mad at myself for being shocked into silence and not saying all the things I thought of to say after the fact.  I was really impressed with one of the guys participating in the conversation though...he said a few of the things I was thinking but couldn't get out of my mouth at the time.   

Full day at work here, going to try to work out after work, and then more construction this weekend.  I just want to get our powder room done upstairs so I don't have to trek down to the basement at 2 am for bathroom runs.  I almost tripped last night over the large carpet that is Rajah...he was laying right by the door.  At least he is a cute doorstop, right?

I'm hunkering down tonight and waiting to see what happens with this storm. I may or may not be able to go to work tomorrow, so I am probably going to postpone my classes that start tomorrow and move them to next week. I don't have any other plans except to bundle the hell up and stay strong on the potty training. It'll either be great or a nightmare lol

I probably won't see BF this weekend if its bad we will see.

@minskat30 Uuuuugh that sounds terrible yesterday. I honestly haven't met anyone who DIDN'T think the maternity leave in this country is bullshit. So that sucks that people who think so would actually argue with a pregnant woman about it!

Good morning. I am SO glad today is Friday. No plans for this weekend which I'm absolutely ok with. My goal for tonight is to go to the gym after work (if I do it will be 4 days that I've gone this week). I'm pretty proud of that!
I hope you guys all stay safe with the blizzard coming! Sometimes I wish we would get one, just so I would have an excuse to make cocoa and watch Netflix.

@minskat30 Ugh, I'm sorry about the plumbers and I'm sorry about the jerks at work. I hate when I have an opinion hat I feel is just common sense/fair to all and dudes take it as "super feminist." They say feminist with disgust too. It pisses me off. 

As I was driving to work the snow flurries began. Now it is shitting up the snow outside. And of course, I can't leave work. If no one says we can leave by lunch, I am leaving anyway. I am not going to be stuck here, dang it. I did pack an "Oh shit" bag that includes warm clothes, extra socks and a book, and I always have a blanket in my car. Fingers crossed I don't need to use any of it, and thank god I live so close to work now. 

We went from a 3 inches-2 feet forecast to a 6 inches-12 inches forecast, and now are in a 16 inch -22 inch forecast. Oh lawd. My weather app has 100% chance of snow for the next 24 hours, and the news says it'll be an inch an hour today. All I care is that I get home in one piece and I really hope I don't lose power. But if I do lose power, at least I live in an area where they will probably get it back on pretty quickly and I have a gas stove and gas fireplace. (although the fireplace needs serviced, it only stays on for 5-10 minutes at a time before going out, pilot light and all).

So, wish me luck today.

@wink0erin I think nobody actually knows with any accuracy just what is going to happen with this storm. Our county pre-emptively cancelled school today because the temperature is close enough to freezing that it could turn to snow and ice way earlier than is modeled! I hope you don't get buried!!!!!!

Morning, I'm feeling much better today.  

@swazzle good idea to stay home.  Hopefully you get the ring issue figured out.  I had to stop wearing my rings because the one caused me to have a reaction and now my fingers are raw.  C's dad thinks it was because the ring had a spacer that was just plated.  He told me to drop it off and he'd fix it.

@southernpeach89 glad Callie is feeling better.  Have you done bicycle movements with her?  They always help gas issues.

@wink0erin I think that is the only perk I have found for living next to a fire department; I can't be without power for that long. 

Like, I said I'm feeling much better today.  Yesterday was brutal.  I pretty much did not leave my bed.  My bf brought home shrimp scampi for dinner, and I read while he repaired the dishwasher.  So now I no longer have to hand wash all my dishes!! 

Tonight we're making prosciutto pizza, and are fully stocked on beer, wine, and booze.  I have to stop at Kohls on my way home and pick up my new winter boots.  The ones I got in October, are not meant for snow.  Which really irked me since I bought them because they were snow boots.  I also need to get more wool socks so my Raynauds doesn't act up in Vermont, or this winter in general. I'll probably let my bf take my car to work tomorrow and I'll stay home and play with Cal in the snow.  Sunday I'm going for ski lessons, and possibly Monday after work as well.

@speakeasy14 I need snow boots so badly. My two pairs of boots aren't made for snow at all. I also have Raynauds, and its the worst in my toes. They go numb and turn white or blue. It sucks. Prosciutto pizza sounds AWESOME.

So I had my injections class this morning, I also asked my RE about going to the Bahamas mid March and he said we shouldn't go because of the zika virus.   I'm really bummed I was looking forward to getting away. 

So stupid snowstorm is just ruining things, with all the snow they are predicting I don't see how we will even be able to get up there for the wedding tomorrow night.  H is cancelling our hotel reservation, so unless the storm somehow disappears we won't be going.  I was looking forward to it, and I feel so badly for H's cousin and the bride too. 

So H & I will probably just be home this weekend, nothing too exciting.

Ugh I'm mad at work. HR came down our hall and said everyone should leave, so we all started to get ready to go. Then my supervisor called a hall meeting (in my office, haha) and he told all of us we have to take vacation time if we do leave because the governor hasn't excused state offices and our agency head has firmly stuck by the "you must take leave" policy. We have a new employee who has no leave time, so his pay would end up docked. So I got mad and said it was garbage that I have to take vacation time to work from home... And also it's garbage to be told conflicting things. And also it's garbage they expect a new employee to take a pay cut. I'm a bit argumentative, because honestly I'm ok staying for another hour, but if I have to take vacation time I'm not doing any freakin work from home and I'm sick of being treated like shit for being a state employee. 

Little bit later I guess my argument got to the director becuase she came down and said if the Governor doesn't call off state offices we can work the time next week by staying late, which I will be doing anyway, so I think I'm going to leave in a few minutes.

Since 9am there have been about 4 inches of snowfall!

@Peaseblossom55 Any chance you can change your vacation plans to somewhere else not affected by zika? You could still vacation in the Florida Keys maybe...or maybe a barrier island in north Florida, Georgia, or SC or NC!

This is me today:


H didn't get home from work until midnight last night, and I stayed up to make sure he made it home safely because I'm a worry wart. We're both feeling like zombies today.

All I ended up doing last night was hang out with Zoey. She slept HARD on my lap while I watched Scrubs. She snored so loud lol. 

Tonight we plan to go over to a friend's house and watch The Prestige, but otherwise we have no plans this weekend. We really need to start packing up the apartment, and we need to finish transferring all our monies to our new bank.  Fun stuff, I tell ya.

While I was waiting for H last night, I started reading Orphan Train. I bought it a few years ago but never picked it up, and then @swazzle recommended it a few weeks ago, so I figured it was time to actually read it. I'm only 30 pages in, but I'm hooked!

@wink0erin my feet react the worst too. These are the boots I got, and based off reviews they are good in the snow.  If these suck too, I'm just going to get a pair from LL Bean.

@peaseblossom55 that really sucks, but better safe than sorry.  Where is the wedding though?  Maybe it would be easier to go up today since it will be done by Sunday?

I'm sorry @Peaseblossom55 - I think all the doctors (at least all the ones I've talked to) have said "no go" to Caribbean trips right now for pregnant or trying to get pregnant ladies because of stupid zika.  Still really sucks.

@wink0erin - I hope you don't have to use your "oh shit" bag...screw that, leave work early if you have to to get home safe.

@wink0erin That sucks about work! I used to work at a hospital before I worked at the school I do now, and we were considered essential personnel even though I did payroll. They always said "we can find something for you to do, like delivering meals to patients." I was SO happy when I moved jobs and am now no longer considered essential. I hope they do something for you!
