More sleep Monday

I could use another 3+ hours of sleep, please!

I had such an amazing weekend!

On Friday, I left work early, got home, and then @beanbot2002 @buddysmom80 @csousa1 and @Hummingbird125 arrived! I made crockpot mac and cheese and pulled pork and everything was so yummy!

Then we played Loaded Questions and LRC (I finally won!). We went to bed so late because we are wild party animals.

On Saturday, I made a cinnamon bun french toast bake and bacon for breakfast and we mostly just lounged around all day with bloody marys and lots of laughs and we FTed with @audrewuh for a little bit too. We went to an early dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant and then out for drinks at my local bar. We played trivia and kicked so much ass!

We are mature women:

Then we went back to my house and FTed with @labro and @southernpeach89 which was so fun as always.

Yesterday @Hummingbird125 took over in the kitchen because I was a little hungover and the pancake bites came out SO good! Highly recommend. Everyone left me to go home by noon which was so sad :disappointed: I finished cleaning the house and watched the rest of season 2 of Downton Abbey.

Last night, H and I went to see Bruce! It was incredible and they performed for over 3 hours without any breaks because they're amazing. Bruce is so hot.

We got home really late and didn't go to sleep until around 12:30 (and my alarm goes off at 5:15) so I am EXHAUSTED today! I'll definitely be getting to bed early tonight so I can try to catch up on some sleep.

Re: More sleep Monday

  • @CocoBellaF - Your weekend sounds so nice aside from the puking! Jealous of the chocolate festival!

@caseface5 - What color did you decide on?

  • @caseface5 - Love it! It looks really similar to the color I painted my living room (you can see in the background of the first pic in my OP). Yours might be a smidge darker but they're really similar!

  • @Swazzle - That sounds like an awesome weekend!  I'm glad you had so much fun!

@CocoBellaF - OMG.  I am literally drooling over your chocolate samples  Also your new dress is super fantastic.  I love the colors.

I had an okay weekend.  I wrote in my journal last night that I have a love/hate relationship with my weekends right now.  I like the fact that I don't feel like I have to do any work (unlike in grad school when I was working pretty much nonstop), but I find them incredibly isolating because, well...there are so many fun things in Savannah to do, but I literally only have one friend here so far, and it can be hard to do them alone.

Saturday I went to yoga in the morning and then ran errands and lazed around the house for the rest of the day.  Saturday I also blew the diet train big time...I got Chipotle for lunch and pizza and a cupcake for dinner, and I drank a whole bottle of wine.  Sunday morning I went to Mass and then my one Savannah friend came over for lunch.  I made pork chops and whole-grain penne in the crockpot with a Middle Eastern spice marinade that I made up...they turned out so well.  Laundry and more yoga and a run filled out my day.

Something really scary happened to my family this weekend.  There was a manhunt for an armed suspect in my hometown, and my sister-in-law was literally right in the middle of it.  The guy drove his truck into the back yard of the house where she was babysitting.  Luckily he ran into the woods next to the house as opposed to running straight into it.  She's fine, but pretty shaken.  My alma mater was on lockdown for about 8 hours.

This week is going to be full, because I'm taking next weekend away like @caseface5.  I'm going to go up to North Carolina and stay with my nephew while my sister and her husband go on a little baby moon before the new baby comes next month.  I'm so excited!  We're going to go to his favorite restaurant and get "beef burgers" and to the museum where they have a train we can ride! I can't wait to snuggle that kid so hard.
  • @CocoBellaF OMG Chocolate festival sounds amazing!!! I need to go to one of those like yesterday.

@caseface5 Ugh sounds like there is a lot going on with the house! I hope things start to get knocked out this week! I love the color you chose. We painted our old apartment that color with an accent wall. I thought it looked great.

@untouchablets I watched Grease Live too....did you see the technical malfunction they had?!? Someone probably got fired today.

@futuremrshistorian OMG how scary! I'm glad your sister is ok but omg I would be terrified!!

@TwoDimes That's awesome you got a brand new water heater!!! Those are expensive!! Yay for home warranty!

@cu97tiger YAY for getting all your Christmas decor down!!! I start judging when decorations are still up in February! You made the cut!

@speakeasy14 That wine and beer tasting sounds awesome! I've been wanting to go to a Georgia winery for a while now...I've visited most but there is still one that I haven't visited.

  • @caseface5 love the color you chose!

@futuremrshistorian ugh that is scary, but glad she's ok.

    @twodimes woohoo for luck!!

@southernpeach89 I think you should go

  • @helloliv I do have a book and my kindle.  No matter what time you got up, brunch is always fun!

  • @minskat30 - I've managed to pick myself back up and get back on the diet train, luckily.  Plus, I ordered myself a fabulous new yoga outfit that I'm not going to let myself wear until I'm halfway to my goal...it was pricey, so that's definitely good motivation!
  • @minsktat30 nope, we head back tomorrow night.  I'm just lonely right now.  That sucks that there really wasn't anything you could eat at the shower, but rewarding yourself with gluten-free cupcakes sounds like a genius idea. Yay for getting a good deal on tile!!

  • @southernpeach89 - Ugh, I'm sorry about the hole in the wall.  :(  It is February now at least so hopefully this month is better for you guys.

@helloliv - That is wayyy to early for brunch.  I'm jealous of your wine filled weekend.  ;)

@helloliv - 8:30 AM is definitely breakfast, NOT brunch!
  • @twodimes Vanessa hudhens was AMAZING as Rizzo! Grease is one of my top five favorite movies so I had some doubts but it totally delivered!
@southernpeach89 I probably turned it in after that happened because I didn't know anything went wrong!
@helloliv I'll definitely take pics and share, even if its just puppy blurs!
  • @helloliv - To try to keep it brief: I never completely felt like the people there looked into our history very much. It was just 'first step, IUI, next step IVF.' We had trouble getting prompt replies from our nurse, and felt like they weren't noting important things in our charts (like when we told them we were taking a year-long break, or what month we wanted to start IVF). The last straw was when they screwed up our insurance verification, telling us that we had $400,000 in coverage, when we only have $4,000. That was the last straw. Did you enjoy Grease Live? I did. It wasn't perfect, but so much better than some of the other Live shows have been.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • @untouchablets Yea apparently when it happened, everyone thought their tv's were malfunctioning but it was the actual set that had something happen. My FB was going nuts over it lol.
  • @minskat30 February better be the best freaking month of our lives.
  • @speakeasy14 - YOU SHOULD HAVE.

@helloliv - That is such an unacceptable time for brunch! I'm glad you had fun though.

  • @CocoBellaF  yum chocolate festival!

@untouchablets  I watched too! I liked Julianne Hough as Sandy but that guy who played Danny I wasn't vastly impressed. Give me young John Travolta any day! ;)

Friday was lame. Got home so late, I think I'm going to take a different route home. Basically when I got home, Matt was heading out and didn't get home until late.

    Saturday we had an appointment with a realtor to meet-and-greet. She was really nice and she's already sent us some ideas. Then we picked up our travel documents! 19 days until DR! :) Matt got some shorts that were on pretty good sale {30% off so he paid $20 after taxes!}

Headed home, and since I've been fighting the tail end of a sinus cold we basically relaxed. I had a bath and we just ordered food.

Sunday my dad would have been 56yrs old, so I spent the day with my mum.
Went to ikea and Matt got a side table, I had cheesecake {soooo good!} then headed to Winners {Home Goods/TJ Maxx for you Americans} I got 3 tops, a candle and plastic bag holder. We were originally using an ikea bag and had so many bags lmao

This week is pretty low key. I started new meds today I think I should hold off on coffee because I think it made my stomach turn :\ at least until they're
  • @cu97tiger - Holy crap!  That is a big fuck up on their part.  If they are screwing that up, I can only imagine what else they might be screwing up.  I'm glad you switched.  Hugs.
  • @cu97tiger - oh man, that really sounds awful. I'm so glad you're going to go to a new clinic! That's just a lot of missteps for something so important. Everything crossed you find a place you love. And yes, I really enjoyed it! I haven't ever enjoyed a live version, but Grease is one of my all-time favorite movies so I really wanted to check it out. I'm so glad I did! I missed the beginning so I'm hoping I can find it online or something.

@everyone - yeah, 8:30 is not brunch time! And because it was so early, no one else was even drinking so I didn't get the Bloody Mary I wanted. :( THAT is a tragedy!
