Ugh Tuesday

Not feeling all the great this morning...something is up with my stomach...blah. On a positive note I'm working from home today so at least I didn't have to get ready this morning.

Callie woke up twice last night so I'm also a little tired so that probably doesn't help how I'm feeling. She wasn't pissed, she was just awake and talking haha. She went back to sleep though so thank God for that. ALSO, her belly button started to heal yesterday!!! It looks like the infection is clearing up so hopefully it will be all healed up by the end of the week! Yay!!

Last night we went to CrossFit and watched the Bachelor...holy shit show lol.

Callie ate A TON yesterday too...probably like 5 more ounces than normal. So when I tried to feed her dinner, she was like, "NOPE!". She ate a pretty good meal though right before bed.

Today it's snowing so I plan to stay inside. I may go to CrossFit depending on how the weather looks. And....her Easter basket came in and I'm obsessed with it:

Good morning! I'm actually in a better mood than yesterday. I don't know if it was because it was Monday, or if I just wasn't feeling it at work, but I literally felt like I had to drag myself through yesterday. Even when I got home I had to make myself get up and help H cook. That was pretty much the extent of my night. So I do feel better today.
I'm kind of excited for Friday because all of the bosses are going to be gone, so me and a few of the girls at the office are thinking of throwing a little Valentines party/potluck.

@southernpeach89 - I love the basket! How cute! Glad Callie is getting better. And I totally agree about The Bachelor. I told H last night that it seems like there have been a lot of "villians" this season. Although I was honestly really shocked last night. Wtf.
@jenjen047 - Cute boots! I would totally just go buy one individual thank you note. Is anyone really going to notice that they don't all match?

@jenjen047 I love those boots! Super cute!

@beachyone15 The potluck sounds like it will be fun! I love it when my boss isn't at work lol...I'm so mean.

@beachyone15 - I hate days like that. I hope today is better for you! I could go buy one but I'm afraid we might have some other straggler gifts come in and I don't want to keep buying cards one at a time, so I'd rather just buy a pack for $7 at Target. Plus, they aren't wedding specific so I can always use them for the future.
  • Options
@jenjen047 - Ah, ok. For some reason I was thinking that you had the cards made and that it would cost a lot to order more. We did the same thing going to Target - they have some really cute ones!

Yesterday and today I have been so sick!

Last night I went to bed at 7:15 just so I didn't have to deal with being sick anymore.

This morning I woke up to some spotting, and ate some eggs and toast, got sick, and came in to work.  I go and look in the bathroom and my face is covered in a rash because I was barfing so hard.  When will it stop?!?

It's supposed to warm up starting tomorrow so I'm excited for that.

Callie's basket is SO CUTE, @southernpeach89!!

@southernpeach89 - I love that Easter basket!! Also, very glad Callie's belly button is clearing up.

@jenjen047 - I have giant calves too...boots generally don't fit me.  I hope these ones work out for you, they are cute!

@beachyone15 - The potluck sounds like fun!

@cocobellaf - At what point are you supposed to go into the hospital (if at all)?  I've never had sickness like you are experiencing but do they need to give you fluids?  Huge hugs to you, I'm so sorry you are experiencing this.

    --------------------------

I'm feeling so much better today.  I was exhausted yesterday from lack of sleep so H and I went to bed early last night and just crashed.  My left leg keeps going completely numb randomly too for some reason (probably pregnancy related) so I took it easy last night.  H made supper last night too (and took the dog out and shoveled...I'm rather grateful for him right now if you can't tell).

The daycares yesterday were hit and miss.  I think we did find two we like so that is good.  One of them we won't find out if we get a spot until early July (after baby arrives)!!!  That is insane to me.  We are putting ourselves on the list (with a non-refundable deposit too) and still won't know until July.  Sigh.  We found one with open spots thankfully that we think would work for us too last night so we are putting ourselves on that list too.  The one I wanted to tour still has zero availability for Sept when I'm returning to work....she was sort of snooty about it too so that one is out.  I think we can live with the two options we have though and hopefully one of them works out for us in the end.

I'm also trying to get into a baby birthing class.  They are 6 weeks long and one starts next week.  That seems early to me to take it now (I'll be almost 24 weeks when it starts) but the next one isn't until much later and I'll be nearly due by the time that one is over so I don't think that will work.

@southernpeach89 - did you take a class (classes)?  Which one? When in your pregnancy did you take one?  We are thinking basic childbirth class (with hospital tour) (both of us), infant CPR class (both of us) and a breast feeding class (me).  Thoughts?

Aw @CocoBellaF I'm so sorry...I really hope things start to ease up soon. I spotted a lot too during 1st and 2nd tri...it's a complete mind fuck and it sucks. Hugs!

@minskat30 - If I'm throwing up everything I put in (including water) for more than a few hours, then I call my dr. and she'll tell me if I need to go in or not.  That stinks about the daycares!!
  • Options
@minskat30 Good luck with the daycare search! I know that is stressful! You will find something that you feel comfortable with. I took a few different classes and I would totally recommend them! I took a Breastfeeding class which was absolutely amazing! I learned sooooooo much! I also took an infant CPR class which is very important. I think this should almost be a requirement since if your baby is in NICU, our hospital wouldn't let the parents leave unless they had this certification. I also took a birthing class which was nice. I learned about the movements I would prefer to use during labor (granted I didn't get to use those) and about what might occur with each birthing situation (c-section and vaginal (with and without epidural)).

@minskat30 Ughhh why is finding a decent daycare so hard? I really hope one of these works out for you. <3 I took the infant CPR class with @southernpeach89 and it was SO informative! I'd actually recommend other family members who may be taking care of the baby take it as well. I had taken adult CPR but it had been a long time so the refresh was incredibly helpful...plus infant CPR is totally different.

@Cocobellaf - I really hope you start feeling better. I can't even imagine how frustrated you must be at this point.
@labro - Thanks! We got the table from Direct Buy (H's parents have a membership). We thought it was so unique that we just had to have it! Glad you had fun in Florida. Did you do any sight-seeing?

@labro Anytime! You know Maddux loves Cinders and is also open for constant playtime lol. Now that Cinders has her safety spots in the house, she might be more open to it too.

@southernpeach89 - Glad to hear they were helpful!  I'm hoping for a vaginal birth (not sure if I want the epidural yet but leaning toward getting it...we'll see what I feel in the moment).  My mom and her mom all had to have C-Sections with kiddos (babies never showed any signs of coming out after 30+ hours of labor).  If I end up needing a c-section, I'll be fine with it I guess....important part is baby getting here healthy.

@cocobellaf - Honestly, that sounds terrible.  Hugs to you.

@labro - Welcome back!!!!  I feel like going on vacation and coming back to a million emails negates the vacation time but I'm glad you got away nonetheless.  And you look so pretty in that selfie.  ;)  Your skin is amazing.

    Morning!

I've been gone the last few days for no other reason than I don't have much to talk about lately.

I learned a few days ago that BF completely neglected to tell me his brother qualified for Junior Olympics in December! I found out when he casually mentioned that he'll be in Ohio for Valentine's day. Naturally I said what the fuck. He thought he told me and now he's like "but I have tons of ideas on how I'll be back for Valentines Day!" but basically if he goes I don't want him to race back to NY to take me to dinner, that's just silly. So I am super annoyed but we will just have to see what he comes up with.

I've got this family I'm teaching tonight and I am just not sure about this dog. Last week the owner attempted to contradict everything I say, and I suspect the dog has temperamental issues that I am not experienced enough to deal with. He's only six months old. She would say things like "I don't want him nipping my kids he's got to stop that" and then I would say "Well, since he's a six month old German Shepherd you don't really have a training issue, it's more about managing him and supervising him around the kids" and then she would be like "But that's not always possible!" and every solution I provided ("well he has a crate, he can be in there if you can't watch him") she would have an answer as to why she can't do that. All excuses. But I can handle all that, what I can't handle is that the dog won't let me near him and is so anxious he won't participate in the exercises I'm trying to teach. I gave him his space and wound up talking the whole time last week, and he still got really snappy with me, nipping my hands and arms a lot if I got too close. Like he was really insecure about what he was doing. I'll probably refer them out tonight if it goes as badly as last week.

@minskat30 I went in thinking I didn't want an epidural and once they started that pitocin...shit got real lol. I asked for Fentanyl after my contractions were going through the roof and that helped for like 45 minutes and then it got bad again. Of course I had to have an epi with my c-section and I hated every second of it...it made me shake uncontrollably and I really wanted to move my feet but having that was kind of imperative haha. It affects everyone differently though.

@cocobellaf man I'm sorry, I can't imagine how much that sucks.

    @labro you look so pretty!

@minskat30 I don't have anything to add about daycare/classes but just wanted to say good luck finding the ones that fit!

@minskat30 Awww thank you! I had a nice glow for all of 24 hours from my walk on the beach that morning!

@beachyone15 No, not really. They live near Boca Raton which is a beach-side community where a TON of uber rich people and celebrities have homes so we'd see these huge fancy mansions on the beach or the canals while we were out driving around. We walked on the beach a couple of times, and we went to the casino (blah, I don't enjoy gambling but my uncle does, plus the place was filled with cigarette smoke), but mostly we spent time with my aunt and uncle. He's 80 and not in the best health so we were just trying to spend as much time with him as we can.

I am just so DONE with this.  :(  And I just look fat.  And feel fat.  Because I can't work out and I eat junk.

@labro - I am also jealous of that nice glow you have!!  I'd love to enjoy some sunshine!  I'm glad you had a good time.

@cocobellaf - HUGS. I'm so sorry you're still going through this.

@minskat30 - Good luck with the day care search! Are you going back to work full time or WFH at all?

@labro - Glad you had a good time! Gorgeous pic of you and H.

@untouchablets - Ugh that dog sounds challenging. Congrats to BF's brother! What sport did he qualify for?

@jenjen047 Fencing! It's an amazing accomplishment, I just kinda wish someone had told me about it sooner than the weekend before the event lol

    Morning everyone!

@cocobellaF I am so so so sorry that you are still feeling like this! Also, didn't know spotting was normal- I feel like I'd freak out.

@minskat30 Good luck with the day cares, I can't imagine how stressful that is!

@labro, Welcome back, glad you had a good time in Florida. Every time I get back from a vacation I feel like I need another one since I have so much work to catch up on!

Not much going on today, just another boring Tuesday.

ETA: nevermind, just saw your post! Fencing is so fun to watch!

@eilis1228 I'm impressed by your efforts to get into the wine bottle lol. I would have given up haha.

@eilis1228 - I laughed out loud at your wine bottle experience with @audrewuh - I have pushed the cork into the bottle more times than I can count when I've given up on a stubborn bottle.  ;)  I hope you get to take tomorrow off to pack!  I hate when work and life are both crazy at the same time.

@eilis1228 lol at you and @audrewuh's desperate attempts to get wine! I don't drink wine but I bought a bottle of white before to cook with. I'm in the middle of cooking dinner and realize I don't have a wine opener so I was googling all these things to try! I finally went downstairs to my neighbor to borrow one from her. And then weeks later someone told me there's cooking wine at the grocery store with a regular twist top lol
