@jenjen047 Not getting sleep has almost turned into some what of a normal routine lol. Even though it doesn't happen every day, we just have adjusted to it in case it happens. It still sucks though and I chug A LOT of coffee throughout the day.

@jenjen047 - I sent STD postcards which would not have been returned to me for bad addresses. If your mom and sister got them, maybe have your sister ask your cousin? Then it's not a 'hey, why didn't I get one' but your sister could mention you didn't get one and that you moved in November. As the bride, I'd want to know updated addresses.

@jenjen047 - I'm not even going back to that place to have them fix it...in part because I'm cranky with them and in part because it's on the totally opposite side of the city from where I am all day today.  I'll just go to my regular place and suck up the fact that I wasted money at the other one.

The extensions are attached to my regular hair with a bonding agent made of keratin.  There's a little "bead" where it got put in, but after about the first day I stopped noticing those.  I can wash/style normally, although I'm conscious about being a little more gentle with my hair than usual, and I have a special hairbrush that's designed for wigs/hair extensions (it was about $5 at Sally's).  Cost-wise...I guess it depends on how you define "expensive."  You have to order the hair itself, and then you have to pay the stylist to put them in.  I paid $70 for 200 strands of hair (a "strand" is basically the equivalent of a thin lock of hair) on Amazon, but there are websites that are a lot more pricey than that.  We used a little more than half of the supply. My stylist charges a flat $100/hour fee to put them in.  We did my entire head in 2 hours.  I'm used to spending $100+ on my hair, because it's something that really makes me feel good and confident, and I was expecting the cost, so it wasn't that bad.  On the other hand, my sister cuts her own hair and thinks spending more than $2 for a bottle of shampoo is obscene, so I haven't told her how much I paid to have them done because I don't want her to give birth too far before her due date!

@jenjen047 Yea I'd have your mom casually ask like "Oh is Jen getting her own, or was she meant to be included on ours? Because I don't think one made it to her.."  Love that you sit on the couch all day Saturday, that was my Sunday. It's called Shades of Blue on Thursday nights like 9 or 10 pm on NBC I believe. It's basically the plot of the movie Departed- where there's a crocked cop, and an FBI informant and they are trying to smoke each other out. Very dramatic.

@labro Sounds like an awesome time with Callie! How long is your friend in town staying with you?

@jenjen047 did you do a permanent mail forwarding or temporary?  If you did permanent, mail will be forwarded for 6 months.  I still have found the occasional piece of mail that I didn't change the address come through and I moved in August. So it may just be a little longer until you get something.  If it goes to the old address, it may get returned to her, or not if the current owners do not say to return to sender.  I wouldn't mention not getting anything to your cousin. I like the idea of having your mom or sister mention something.  Also, no word yet.  He thinks the spark plugs may have been installed too tightly and have a hairline crack, so he was going to replace them and see if that works.  Also checking for any other damage since I've been driving the car the way it is since June.

@labro - I've already said this but that picture of Callie and the cube is freaking adorable.  It gave me all the feels this weekend.  

@cu97tiger - Being on paleo will be tough but YOU CAN DO IT.  I was already gluten free when we were trying to get KU so I can't speak to how dropping it helped or didn't but given up sugar is HARD.  I just hope you guys get to try sooner rather than later, for your sanity's sake.

@cocobellaf - Ugh, I was hoping you wouldn't still be on pelvic rest.  I'm sorry.  When are you going in next to check the position of the placenta?  BUT IN BIGGER NEWS....Kennedy is so adorable!!!

@jenjen047 - I wouldn't worry about it if it is just a STD.  If it was the invitation, I might consider saying something in passing if you think it was an error.  Maybe send her your updated address though in a P.S. of an email or something and mention that the post office is still delivering stuff to your old address so you are reminding everyone of the new address?  That isn't very sly, sorry...I'm tired this morning.

@speakeasy14 - I'm sorry about your car.   When are you getting it back?

This weekend was long (not in a good way) and exhausting.  Rant ahead....Saturday we did bathroom construction.  Most of the shower tile got put up by my BIL so that is good progress.  He was supposed to come on Sunday with the painter too but didn't show (or call) at 8 when he promised.  I ended up waiting around the house and finally calling and asking if he was coming at 11 (he wouldn't pick up so I called my sister) and was told, politely but firmly by my sister to bug off.  I'm really getting tired of this.  We are paying him and his friends/crew.  Its slightly less than what we would pay a third party so I'm mindful of that but we are still paying him a fair amount of money and this is getting to be too much to have people promise to come by for the whole weekend and they only come by for 5 hours on Saturday.  This is why the construction is taking forever and I'm just DONE.  As @labro knows too (I texted her) my wainscoting doesn't work so we are unfortunately going to scrap that idea.  I could make it work but the wainscoting will just add another layer of delay and I'm at my wits end with construction and all the stuff we still need to do for the baby (haven't even started with 90% of the stuff on my list).  

So, in short, I had a melt down over construction, H and I switched reno ideas for the bathroom and we bought tile we like to tile the entire tub (rather than wainscot the apron and tile the top).  Our list is now narrowed to (1) finish the trim for the shower tile, (2) tile the entire tub built in, (3) paint and then have the plumber come back and hire him to put in the remaining fixtures rather than have my BIL do it.  

Tonight H and I are having a pow wow to go over the baby stuff we need to do too and he's going to take some of that off my shoulders and take on some tasks.  Per usual, I've taken on most of them and now I'm overwhelmed because of that, hormones, construction, my job and family stuff.

@labro - Thank you.  If you guys lived closer I would be stealing both you and your H ALL the time.  I'll be Instagram stalking later today now too.    My BIL is tired of working on the weekends too I know but frankly he agreed to take on the project and we agreed to pay him for it.  Because it is family, of course, that means drama, drama, drama.  H and I decided this weekend that we will not be doing any more projects without hiring 3rd party contractors because I really do need to be able to hold people accountable for timing and I can't do that with family without causing a rift.  In short, my sister cannot be reasoned with (at all)...she just sees her husband gone at my house all weekend to help but conveniently forgets that he is getting paid for the job...and then she complains to my mom who starts in on me ... that is a whole other can of worms I won't get into. 

But in positive news...here is some pictures of a few items I got majorly on sale at TJ Maxx on Friday for the nursery (I'm swapping out the door handles still on the book nook so don't mind the ugly ones).    And Rajah checking them out.  Speaking of Raj...he is FINALLY getting groomed today.  He hasn't been groomed in forever because of his bad leg...any attempt to groom him has been met with serious aggrivation and him trying to get away.  He's well enough at this point to have a professional tackle him and he needs it badly.  I'll have pictures tomorrow.

@futuremrshistorian LOVE THE HAIR! I hope you have an amazing time in Dubai! My friend is heading to Bangkok for the Doctor's Orchestra thing, and she had a layover in Dubai. She posted a pic of one of the metal squatters, with "Nope" as her caption. I just died laughing at her. She definitely loves her creature comforts.
@cocobellaF Yay for baby Kennedy! Boo for continued pelvic rest! I was on it for my entire pregnancy with Noah.

So, this weekend was just OK. We didn't have anything crazy going on. Saturday was nice and warm, and Bean had outdoor practice. His coach said all of the other coaches are talking about him, so that's really really good! He's been making a ton of really good impressions with the head coaches and training staff. BUT, he got cleated on the inside of his ankle when he tried stealing the ball from a much bigger player, during practice. They're calling these sessions 'practice' - but they're more of an extended try out process since this year US Soccer is falling in line with FIFA for age guidelines. Bean will have to move up to U15 and skip U14 as a result. Anyhow, he played through it, but his ankle was as big as a grapefruit after.

Saturday night, Noah had us up until 3/4 am. He has a really bad case of croup, but the doctor said it's nothing to worry about. It's been going strong for a week, so I'm gonna call the doctor again to see if they want to see him back. He's just absolutely miserable with a constant fever and the horrible cough.

As a result of his bad sleep, he was a terrible grump yesterday morning. He screamed off and on for a good hour/hour and a half because I wouldn't let him just eat straight sour cream for breakfast. In fact, the only thing I got him to eat yesterday, was half a banana, half a tortilla, and a teaspoon of sour cream.

This week is gonna be nuts. We're celebrating Noah's 2nd birthday this weekend, so I need to clean the house and get ready for guests!

@beanbot2002 I wonder if that could be it....the last time she went through a growth spurt was right after she turned 3 months. She will be 5 months this upcoming weekend. I also thought it might be her gums bothering her since she has been teething.

@beanbot2002 Poor Noah! Isn't steam supposed to help croup a bit? Does your doctor have you doing anything at all to help give him some relief? Also...it kind of frightens me that Bean is going to be in U-15....aren't these kids supposed to just stay kids forever? What's all this middle-aged teenager stuff anyway???

@Swazzle I'm glad you had fun at the concert! Sorry to hear your stomach was upset on Saturday--being sick on the weekend is the worst. Also, H and I suck because we have not watched TWD at all since it came back last week. I've heard it's really good. I'll make sure we catch up ASAP so I can get on here and discuss it with you.
@southernpeach89 Callie is such a big girl! I feel like she was born yesterday, and now she's eating solid food! She's absolutely precious. 
@futuremrshistorian LOVE the extensions! I'm laughing because you mentioned how heavy they are-- when I chopped off all my hair a few weeks ago, I was amazed how light my head felt. Long hair really is heavy! Good luck with getting everything ready for Dubai! It will be here so soon!

@cu97tiger Oh wow, that really is a lot of information for 6:40 in the morning. I have a few friends that have done paleo from time to time, and they really love it. Like you, I'm a sugar whore (and I'm a carb whore), so I've been too chicken to try it, but I think you'll be able to transition into it easily. 
@jenjen047 Sorry your friend flaked on brunch I hate when that happens. Re: the STDs... I'd have your mom or sister mention it casually to the bride like other PPs have said. It may still be in the process of being forwarded by USPS. I think anything being forwarded is delayed a few days.
@minskat30 Um, your sister and BIL need to get over themselves. You're paying your BIL to do a job, so flaking on that job is beyond rude. I don't care that they're your relatives-- you pay someone to do a job, you expect them to do it. That's total bullshit. I'm so sorry these renovations have been such a huge headache.  
@beanbot2002 Poor Bean and Noah! That's really awesome that Bean played through with the hurt ankle though-- he's such a trooper! I'm sure he'll do well with the coaches for the new age group.

Today is detox day because I spent all weekend drinking. I feel so bloated and sluggish today, ugh. 

Friday night we were wild and went to Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Depot, and Lowe's. We got some closet organization stuff, some really fun lights and patio furniture for the balcony, and we ordered a chest freezer for the garage. H spent the rest of the night setting up the patio, and it looks really good! My mom told me that she'll probably give me a bunch of her patio stuff too because they're moving to a fancy high-rise apartment downtown that doesn't have a balcony.

On Saturday I had brunch with my personal trainer and my MOH. We had A LOT of fun and stayed out way too long. Afterwards H and I went to Ikea and got some shelves and a new office chair for me, and then we spent that night putting stuff together. 

Yesterday we went to brunch with BIL and his girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. The food was NOMS, but the service was abysmal. Afterwards we all went to see Deadpool at one of the tavern-style theatres, so we basically spent the day drinking. H and I maaaaaay have dozed a bit during the movie, but it was our second time to see it lol. After the movie, H and I went to Joann's and the grocery store. We were so exhausted from all the alcohol and junk food that we spent the rest of the night on the couch.

Since we were so exhausted Saturday and Sunday we made 0 progress on unpacking. We're going to Austin this upcoming weekend, so I guess I'm doomed to live among boxes for a few more weeks. *sigh*

Today I need to work out, pick up Zoey from doggie day camp, and then work on sewing some bibs for one of my cousins. His wife is pregnant and due in May, so I'm going to make a few bibs and a small quilt for them. Unfortunately @audrewuh is busy tonight, so I won't get to see her face until next week.

@southernpeach89 Oh man! Teething is the worst! Have you tried an amber necklace? It did WONDERS for Noah. I swear his drooling and pain was super minimal, but if we took his necklace off one day, he would feel awful. Some people think it's hokey, but it really worked for him and several friends. 

@labro the current U15 players on our club are HUGE. They have full beards and are all probably 6 + feet tall and close to 180lbs. I can't see Bean having to play kids that size next year. I'm kind of terrified. lol The doc recommended a cool mist humidifier for Noah, but we can't do it because Bean has to have as close to 0% humidity as possible, or he gets super sick and ends up in the hospital. We had to pay thousands of dollars to have a whole house Dehumidifier installed a few years ago. So, we're basically just treating the fever and hoping the virus just runs its course quickly. We've taken him outside, because the cold air is supposed to help, but it's actually been pretty warm here lately, so that didn't help much. It's like a catch 22 in our house right now. 

@cu97tiger I seriously have no clue! Where did all this time go???

@eilis1228 Me and H were so looking forward to taking Bean to see Deadpool. Then all the "RAWR DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS" posts started on FB. We asked around and most people said "Eh, he'd probably be ok." And then my sister went and reported back details - yeah, it'll have to be a no for him. LOL We were pretty bummed though. He's been talking about this movie for over a year now. I'm sad he'll have to miss out, but uh...we're having to have enough sex talks with him as it is, so...

@beanbot2002 I've heard of those! We looked for those dissolving tablets but couldn't find them in the stores. Do you need to get the necklaces sized?

@labro and not like sparse beards either. I'm talking full grown men/lumberjack beards.  And they are so stinky! Bean has extra training the same night as their indoor practice, and by the end of the hour the whole place stinks to high hell. I've dry heaved a few times, it's so bad.

@southernpeach89 no, they typically have a few sizes like 12", 15" etc. You don't want it to be too long so that she can choke herself on it, but not too tight either. You can also do an amber bracelet/anklet or just wrap the necklace around her ankle and put her sock over it. You get the same effect.

@beanbot2002 Yeaaaaaah it's pretty raunchy, even for a teenager. Some of the sex scenes in the beginning are really graphic. I can't imagine seeing that movie with my parents, even as an adult... I would die. LOL I remember seeing Titanic with my dad when I was 9 and being so incredibly uncomfortable. Has he read the Deadpool comics?

@beanbot2002 ugh I was going to suggest taking him outside.  Hope he starts feeling better soon. 

@labro ugh me too.  We stopped by Saturday night and the mechanic was shocked that other mechanics have told me to drive it.  He also is very chatty and we were there for a good half hour.  In that time he mentioned/bragged that he just bought a 2008 Mazda CX7 with 80k miles for $3000.  He's fixing up the enginge and timing chain and then going to sell it.  We're thinking about asking him how much he'd take my car for and paying the difference to get the Mazda.  Biggest downside is that it isn't AWD and the CX7's were known for engine issues.  But it's a lot newer than my car and waaaay less miles so I may just go for it.

Ha! @labro - My H's brother would be even further away than YOU....he is in India.    At least there isn't any family drama on that end...or, if there is, I'm too damn far away to hear about it.   I could seriously bore you to no end with stories of our family drama.  One day I'm going to rant on here about the biggest piece of family drama I can think of (and then DD it because I'm a big old coward).  

@cu97tiger - Yeah, I love my family (I really do) but we have an odd dynamic....basically I've been the "good" one for so long everyone just sort of expects me to go along with everything 99% of the time.  It is hard on H to deal with because I love them (and I AM trying to establish boundaries).  H just wants to yell at them sometimes when they act flaky/temperamental/dramatic on me.  

@beanbot2002 - Honestly if BIL doesn't come next weekend we are going to hire the rest of the tiling out.  How is Noah 2 already?!?  I'm sorry he isn't feeling well, it sucks that the doctors haven't been very helpful.  I'd take him back to the doctor.  One week with coup is long enough to drive both him and you guys insane.

@speakeasy14 You know I love my Mazdas. But admittedly I don't know a ton about the CX-7. Mazda is phasing it out I think too.
