Hooray! 

I woke up feeling worse than the last 2 days even though I was in  bed at 8, asleep before 9, and got a solid 8 hours. 

I grabbed a beer with my coworkers right after work last night because today is someone's last day. I headed home and went out for sushi with H. We tried a 'Fire Phoenix' roll (spicy salmon, spicy kani inside, spicy tuna, tobiko, chili paste on top) for the first time in addition to our other usuals. It was SO GOOD and might be my new fave. 

I have plans to go out in the city tomorrow night for my cousin's birthday and as long as I'm not feeling worse than right now, I'll definitely go for a bit because I haven't seen my cousin in a while and I miss her!  

Other than that, my plan is to take it easy all weekend with the hopes that I start feeling better ASAP.

Last night Callie devoured more sweet potatoes...I think we found her favorite food lol. It was so funny, she grabbed the spoon from me and any time I took it away from her she would get pissed.

Last night she got to bed kind of late because she didn't want to go to sleep but eventually she fell asleep around 11:30 so I did get some sleep thankfully.

Today DH is going on an overnight field trip so my mom is coming over tonight to hang out with Callie and me. We are going to CrossFit first and afterwards probably getting dinner.

Today I need to finish cleaning, run to the grocery store, and take out my Easter decorations!!!

Tomorrow after DH gets home we are going to a wedding shower for a friend of mine from high school. 

Sunday DH works all day so if the weather is nice it will be probably an outdoors day for us.

I am hoping to skip out a tad early today, because I have a few things left to do for tonight that I couldn't do last night. I have to run Tess to my parents, make the bed, sweep the floor and swifter the kitchen. I couldn't do it last night because it was raining and Tess kept coming in with dirty paws.

Saturday we are doing the thing I got BF for Valentine's Day. It was suggested by @jenna8984. It's the Escape the Room. We are going to grab dinner and drinks in the city afterwards. 

Sunday we are going to a new local place that opened with some friends. We will probably try to get Tessie a play date too at some point, and also get her nails cut.

Last night I was so exhausted and hungry so I didn't work out. I just made dinner immediately and then I was going to read a bit and go to bed early. I ended up spending most of the night looking at mortgage info and looking at houses online. I couldn't fall asleep and ended up being awake until like 11 ugh. 

I hope this day goes by quickly because this week has been DRAGGING! I'm leaving about an hour early today since I had to come in early yesterday. I need to go to the post office to mail by passport form to get one with my updated name. Then my goal is to buy some new shirts- I really need some new basic long sleeve tees. I need more clothes in general that I don't have to iron. So many things sit in my drawer/closet because I'm too lazy to iron them lol.

Tomorrow I need to workout in the morning and then not sure what we'll do. H is off and we were going to go to an open house a few towns away but it's from 12-2 so I have a feeling we won't end up going- he usually doesn't even get up until 12 with his schedule and if he works a double tonight there's no way he's getting up. The house is over budget anyways so I don't care that much- just want to start seeing what's out there but I'm kind of worried that when we're seriously looking we're going to miss out on homes because of our completely opposite schedules.

@caseface5 LOL no! She is just coming to watch since she is hanging out with us afterwards. My mom is definitely more of a runner/cardio person than weights. Those escape rooms FREAK me out. I don't think I could ever do one lol.

@caseface5 Let us know how the Escape Room is! I saw a Groupon or Living Social deal for it but didn't buy it because I didn't know if H would want to go so I'm interested to see what you think of it.

@southernpeach89 - Callie stayed up a hell of a lot longer than I did last night!! I was in bed by 8:30. Also, I LOVE sweet potatoes. Callie and I are going to be BFF's one day.

I'm SO HAPPY it is Friday. My week has dragged by, and my boss has been in a crappy mood most of the week. I have nothing planned for this weekend other than shopping, laundry, cleaning, and working on a little DIY project with a nightstand. Tonight I'm making butternut squash pizza for dinner and I'm going to eat all of it (okay, maybe I'll let DH have a slice).

Anyways.... just wanted to pop in. Fingers crossed I have the time to re-join you guys because I miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, HAPPY FRIDAY.

I'm working until 11:00 today.  I love my short days on Friday.  H is off today, but he still got up at 4:45 AM to go play basketball.  Whatever, I'd be sleeping in!!  Anyway, he got K's room all painted yesterday, so today he'll hang up her little chandelier and we'll (ha, HE will) clean up all the painting mess.  He wants to go eat Brazilian tonight, so if I'm feeling up to it, that's the biggest plan for today.  

Tomorrow I am going with my mom to pick out the fabric for the crib bedding (we need to find the dark and light minty green, we have the gold polka dot and floral already) and then to buy a maternity belt from Babies R Us.  So exciting.  We're going to eat at a famous steakhouse that afternoon for my dad's birthday, and that's about it.  I have a ton of books that we got on Wednesday night that I need to start reading through this weekend!

Oh, and I made a really yummy first breakfast today!  I scrambled one egg, and then shredded some Colby Jack cheese and stuck that all in a flour tortilla with a little bit of super-mild green salsa.  YUM.  I'll have some Greek yogurt and blueberries later, so it's a pretty good morning food-wise for me!  Much better than yesterday.

@southernpeach89 LOL, I was going to say, Momma Peach is a badass! (I'm sure she still is anyways). Can I ask what freaks you out about it? Not being able to leave? There are similar ones around here that BF and I have done before, it's all mind games that you have to solve to move to the next room. This one is all in one room but I guess only 20% of people are able to complete it so we see that as a challenge!

Thank goodness it is Friday!  Hopefully this weekend is the LAST of the big remodel for the bathroom.  Grouting the tub, putting the baseboards in, finishing painting touches, put in a new door frame, etc.  We still have to replace the window in there but the plumbing is now fully functional in there!  I'm thinking about taking a very very careful bath in there tonight (careful because the tub isn't grouted yet).  I'm so excited I could burst.

Other than that, H and I are putting together the glider for Ani's room, cleaning it out (it became the junk room for the bathroom boxes/remodel stuff) and maybe doing some nursery thinking now that the bathroom is almost done!

@TwoDimes - Fingers crossed for a refund!  H and I got one this year but it was pretty minimal because he did one of his business' taxes wrong (calculated the quarterly taxes slightly wrong and based on IL taxes not WI taxes since last year we were half in IL and half in WI and he forgot to change it) so that ate up most of our refund.  Thankfully we didn't owe out of pocket though.

We didn't get to go skiing last night because they closed early since it was going to rain.  Since I didn't have anything to make for dinner, we went to our favorite sushi place.

After we got back my bf was once again on a mission, so we swapped out the fridges, got the washer set up (dryer outlet needs to be redone), cleared out all the construction stuff from the kitchen and dining room, and I don't know what else he did because I went to bed early.  My house is almost spotless though.  So now I can start inviting people over and not live in shame.

Tonight we're going to attempt to go skiing again. Not sure what else is going on this weekend.  I may bring Calla over to my sister's house.  Since her dog got fixed he hasn't tried humping, so maybe the dogs will get along now.

@TwoDimes - Fingers crossed! I got my taxes done by a professional for the 2nd time ever, and I'm annoyed that the refund amount she told me was pretty much the same as I got when I plugged our numbers into Turbo Tax. I told her I was hoping she could do better than that... so she's taking another look and will hopefully call me back with a better number. Otherwise, I feel like I'm wasting $150 on her!

@Minskat30 - Hi lady!!! We have these old, ugly, dark wood nightstands. I painted one with an off white chalk paint, then painted over in a (possibly too-bright) blue, and destroyed through the blue to see some of the white. It's looking okay. If I don't love it, I'll try something different with the 2nd one, since we only want to keep one to put under our bedroom TV and put the cable box on. I'll share pics next week if it doesn't look horrible!

@Swazzle I mean it'll be slushy, which works for me since I don't like to go fast haha.  Most likely won't be wearing a jacket or gloves too.  I'll wear ski pants though since I packed thin liners and I don't want the world to see everything.

Well today is the day! We're getting nearly all of our trees in our front yard cut down! The only things left will be a giant magnolia that acts as a screen so we don't have to look at the neighbors who are KITTY corner to us (@Swazzle), a dogwood, two very very small dogwood saplings that we planted this year, and two young Japanese maples. I'm kind of excited because H suggested that we see what's left of the money from his bonus after we finish all of our projects and he says we can hire someone to come design and re-landscape the front garden area!!!! I'm so excited! I love gardening but I don't have the expertise to create something from scratch so this is going to be so wonderful!

Not a lot going on this weekend! The contractor for our bathroom floor will come by tomorrow to give us a quote. Saturday is supposed to be beautiful so I plan on catching up on all the gardening. Sunday will be cleaning day and trying to recover from the Daylight Savings switch! I'm trying to get in a better habit of doing a weekly whole house cleaning because I'll have to really be on my game when it comes time to list the house.

I hope you get a big refund! We just ours done last weekend and I was disappointed that we got less back now that we're married. You guys will probably get a good one though because you bought your house last year right?
@minskat30 H is THE WORST at waking up earlier. I hope we get out to see it too. 

@swazzle Most of my basic tees are from ON too and one of my fav long sleeve too but it's so old now lol. The PO I was going to go to is in the same plaza as a Marshall's so I was gonna check there but I usually get frustrated with that place because I don't like hunting for things. Maybe I will just do ON and Target- both are in the same lot in my town.

@TwoDimes Re: taxes. H and I didn't owe the first tax season we were married because we had only been married part of the year. This year was a WHOLE different story. We had an increase in income (because H's job is awesome and they give him raises and bonuses so I really can't complain) but a reduction in our overall federal tax payments for the year....whoops. So you may be alright this year but I would talk to your CPA tonight about how to handle the next year.

@labro No...he went hunting back when she was under a month old for the weekend but I stayed overnight with mom and dad. I still did everything as if I was alone at home but technically there were still other people in the house.

I am so ready for today to be OVER already. I fucking hate my boss. Tuesday the payroll system went down in the middle of payroll. He never bothered to ask how it was going/what was going on. Yesterday he had a meeting with the town and they said they want to process sooner, not so late. Since he didn't bother to see what happened, he couldn't tell them it was out of my control and now we have to have a meeting about it. UGH!!
