Help with shoes and dress tape

At some point, I read a forum on the Knot about a cream or spray that helped with foot pain when wearing heels. I can't find it again, but I'm interested.
Also, what's the best dress tape? My dress fits great and won't fall down (my seam stress proved it by pulling from the bottom) but she thinks tape will help solidify my worry about it.

  • Instead of a cream (which I've never heard of), just get shoes you will be comfortable in! It really is such a long day, don't make yourself suffer.
  • I have heard of people using plain lipbalm or Vaseline to help the shoe with areas that rub when you walk.

This is the only thing I have heard of as well, something to help with areas that may cause blisters. Is this what you meant OP?

  • There are heel wraps out there, and you can use Vaseline (look up dance shoe hacks), HOWEVER, both are not the replacement for wearing proper fitting comfortable shoes in the first place!!!  Sure, a pair of shoes may look awesome with your dress, but if they don't fit your feet properly, they're the wrong shoe.  If anything I'd recommend buying a ceremony shoe that you only wear for the ceremony itself, then a pair of comfortable shoes you wear the rest of the time.  For me, the ballet type shoes are horribly uncomfortable as are most sandals, so it's entirely subjective as to what "comfortable" is for you.
  • Of course, you should choose comfortable shoes. I don't know about cream, but I know that there are such sticks, which makes shoes more comfortable. Compeed is it's mark...But I may be wrong!
